  1. Since every Macross Frontier Valks seems to have gotten their renewal treatment Bandai needs to announce the Super/Tornado-Parts as well as the S.H.Monsterarts Vajra asap. I can't wait for Lucas Messiah. The 50 shades of green look awesome on him. But the Super Parts for the YF-29 are the next think I will fiddle with.
  2. Thanks for the clarification. I never used that because one Valkyrie of every type is all I need.
  3. IIRC just add a high amount of items into your shopping cart (i.e. 99 pieces). The website will then tell you how many are actually available. [edit: ] All this news about crumbled die-cast parts on the shoulders seems to indicate that somethings was wrong with the metal for this specific part. It seems you have to be extra careful with the die-cast shoulder bits when handling the toy. Weird that all other parts made out of metal seem to be fine. Those awful Chinese factories.
  4. I transformed my toy partly to check if the bar was installed. If I remember correctly I deployed the legs and freed the intake covers . After the chest plate was free I was able to rotate the cockpit upwards and check the strut. It might be possible to determine the missing part while looking into the empty cockpit. On the images with the missing support piece you could see the feet of the pilot. So if you know how the area should look with an installed support bar you might see if it's there. But transforming it until you can rotate the cockpit is the saver way I think. The hardest part of the transformation is the chest assembly and the arms due to a mysterious door and stiff joints in the arms. Neither area is of concern if you need to rotate the cockpit upward. You should now what to expect though so I would advice to watch either jenius or Veefs transformation guides or any other video that makes you familiar with the transformation.
  5. That looks pretty smooth. How does the backing soda and super glue fix work? Do you mix the baking soda with super glue to create some kind of filler material to replace the small parts that crumbled?
  6. Basically foreign customers are screwed when they have to return an item to a shop that is based in another country. And a lot of shops are having bad customer support. As far as I know even amiami which is one of the largest online shops in Japan doesn't cater to foreign customers when it comes to replacements or compensate shipping costs for sending an item back. And since shipping fees to Japan are very expensive one may think twice about returning an damaged item. When my hip bar of the VF-25F Alto Custom broke I fixed it myself instead of the hassle of shipping it back to Japan. As a side question does anyone know if there are seller who sell parts of a VF-25 Renewal like with the guy on ebay who sells spare parts for the VF-171 (the fixed bar doesn't allow perfect transformation )?
  7. Are we talking about the black filler pieces on the underside of the shoulders that cover the gab between chest and shoulder? If so one of mine was really tight so I unscrewed the curved piece because I feared breakage. I screwed it back on but with less torque then before and it seems fine since then. Maybe the tools in the factory where adjusted badly which caused the material do break.
  8. The weird thing is that such a teeth cleaning device is lying directly next to me.... the whole time transforming the VF-171... unused (besides of teeth maintenance).
  9. While the wings of my VF-171 weren't loose I was also able to push the pin a little bit further in. I had no problems with the pins detaching on their on so I was wondering if Bandai changed something on the pins since the problem of loose pins seems to occur less often. When rotating the cockpit into place it helps to push on the section behind the canopy because there you can apply force to free the cockpit from its peg.
  10. I don't know if this scheme would play out well. I feel that toy collecting as an investment has the same problem as collecting comics for a payoff. Now everybody takes good care of their toys (and doesn't play with them ) so much more units will be available in the future reducing the value of the toy in the future. It's not like the early 80s where kids played with their Takatoku Valkys until they getting destroyed by a blow torch. As another negative side effect it seems that modern toys have a death clock implemented so they will self destruct in their boxes even if the were never taken out. So I don't know if this is a smart move. I could be wrong however. Maybe the bidder just recently (re-)discovered his love for Macross (dare I say Robotech?) and as a lot of play money.
  11. So it is loose at the ball joint on the hip? The super glue fix should help. Check out this video on the YT. It might help
  12. As for the VF-25G you can mount the sniper rifle in Fighter- and Gerwalk-Mode on a support strut that should be deployed when you get the toy out of its package and is attached to the aircraft . The other differences are the same with all of the Renewals vs. the V1s (higher sitting legs, metal colored feet, translucent parts in the nose of the plane, appropriate landing gear, second seat in the cockpit, etc.). Also the pilot figure should be in the box and not in the cockpit since the V1 toy had pilots that can't be removed iirc. If you don't want to mess with the toy the support strut for the gun and the removable pilot an empty cockpit should indicate that it is a Renewal toy. Also the V1 VF-25Gs have a lighter blue tinned cockpit canopy where the canopy of the Renewals is a deep purple color. So there should be a lot of indications if it's a Renewal toy. Check out jenius' website for comparison pictures. He has updated pictures for the Renewals as well as the V1s.
  13. I hope for you that it is not the same with the 30th Anniversary Super Parts that it was with the YF-29 Alto Custom ones. Because their price skyrocketed after their initial release.
  14. Jepp they're white!
  15. Oh no, I preordered the Armor Parts from BBTS because I knew no other shops besides BBTS and HLJ (and HLJ didn't offered them). Had I knew about Tokyo Hunter, Anime Export or NY it would saved me a lot of money. But a) it's only money and b) that is the price to pay if you're a noob. It helps that I really like those parts.
  16. I don't know if you can easily replace the broken part with a new one because the pin seems to be glued into the backplate. Send them an email where you explain the subject matter and include some photos where they can see the broken part and wait for their response.
  17. If it's a factory defect you should get in contact with HLJ and ask them if they can send you a replacement unit. Usually they are one of the shops that try to solve such issues. Duymon I store my extra parts in those small cylinders where film for analog cameras where stored in. Don't know if people still know what that is. And I think that a VF-171CF with gray armor plates on its Super Parts would look vastly superior to the Princess Custom.
  18. I think scalpers looking also for uninformed people with money. After getting into collecting foreign toys I needed some time to learn all the little "secrets" and finding the important information sources (and I'm still learning and discovering). I know now that I over-payed for a lot of loot (VF-25 Renewal Super and Armor Parts *cough*). Fun times.
  19. For diversities sake I would still go for Kakizaki that poor sod.
  20. I would rather go for a full DYRL? Skull Squadron then another CF. Personally I'm not a hoarder so buying the same toy twice is not an option for me.
  21. Is the finger still poised above the panic button Graham? *hope*
  22. Yes really lucky. I forget sometimes the taxes and fees and realizing later that I had to add another ~25% on top of the item + shipping. It is expensive to have exquisite tastes. *add English Sir Meme here*
  23. Thanks. Can't access their website right now. Seems like their shop interferes with the content filter. At least they let me listen to Fire Bomber at work. Holy Lonely Night *sing*
  24. Is the price still 25k Yen?
