  1. Still no updates from NY but about the RVF-25 but I'm not in a hurry. Just got the notification that a packages passed the customs after sitting their for 10 days so I have something to distract me while I'm waiting for an update from NY. Yeah the green intakes are ugly as hell and I'm also not a fan of the die-cast intakes. The design of the Frontier Valkyries has so many sharp edges that can't be molded in metal so those parts really stick out. Toys made out of metal are cool stuff but I think that it only works well on either specific designs (like the SOC Mazinger or the PM C-3PO) or as structural metal where plastic is too weak. Although metal ball-joints seem to be problematic too. Well it is possible to print metal out of a metal powder (Shapeways can do that) but the process is different from the plastic 3D printer that are being sold for use at home. I'm not sure you can adopt that method for materials that have a different characteristic than plastic (melts at lower temperatures as metal, is semifluid, etc.) and the metal powder approach is expensive (at the moment) and needs more knowledge than how to plug a device into an USB-port. I think something will come up in the future (dare I say Replicator) but it will take some time. Thought of the day: you have to recognize a troll if you see one.
  2. Yeah I thought that much. I will just wait and see.
  3. Excellent pictures! I have to say that the intakes get worse and worse with every release. Paint them already Bandai!
  4. Meh I preordered the Super Parts for Luca and Michael.... I thought maybe the Tornado Parts for the VF-25G might never be made or only available as a bundle (not buying a second VF-25G!!!) just like last time. Now feeling the urge to buy a set of Armored Parts for my Alto since I now have three Super Messiahs on the shelf. Are there any news around about a reissue of the Super and Armor Parts for the VF-25F since a reissue is on the way?
  5. My order is also in the Preparation in Progress. The mail arrived on Friday so I'm not to worried that nothing happened over the weekend.
  6. Well this is slightly off topic (only slightly!!!) and its weird that a toy collector asks this question but you collected shoes? Did you wear them of do you display them in glass cabinets like I do with my toys. I don't ask where the fun is to collect shoes because I always have to answer this question regarding my toys. On topic: I think the question is if the toy is worth the price when you preordered it. If the price falls later you have always the peace of mind that the amount of money you spend was ok. I like the VF-171CF very much and the price I payed for it was worth it... ..at least that is what I'm telling myself.
  7. Meh about the attachment points. The strut that goes though the arms on the VF-25G works so well. The elint-fin seems to block the free space between the lower arms so maybe that was not an option. It is still a disappointment but Luca never had a gun-pod (there was this one episode where he was rescued by Alto but that one could be floating inside the Vajra for ages ) so I will display him without the pod. Can the attachment parts be stored in the other two modes somewhere on the Valkyrie or are they extra parts that float around and gone missing after a while?
  8. They are sold out? Is Tamashii limiting the number of preorders for those or are they still available on the Tamashii website?
  9. I'm sure Bandai noticed that many people would skip the Armor Parts for Luca (Armored VF-25S, Super VF-25F, Tornado VF-25G, plain RVF-25). Now we have the extra "incentive" to buy the super Parts since Luca needs to have his Nanase-Ghost. I also don't want the Super Parts for Luca and I don'T want three drones I just need one. Damn you Bandai
  10. Since I can't see Dark_Ghosts images can someone tell me if the crotch piece is now cast in two different colors? On XTLs image the area is rather nebulous.
  11. To Quarter or not to Quarter that is the question. To bad the HLJ warehouse holds the items for only 60 days. Otherwise I would be terribly tempted to buy the Quarter knowing that the chances of Bandai reissuing or even updating are near null.
  12. I guess it will be something between image 2 and 3. I assume that the 30th anniversary logo will be printed on because there is a similar logo on the arms that is show on the underside of the plane. If those logos would be decals they might be damaged to easily during transformation and posing.
  13. The MSRP of the Alto and Ozma Super Parts was 4725 Yen. I assume a similar price for Michaels Super Parts. The price could vary if Bandai decides to pack some additional items into the package such as the drones that come with Lucas Super Parts (such as the Folddildo or the Galia-4 speakers). Since you have to go through a middle man to get those parts (because the Tamashii Web Shop only ships to Japanese addresses) you have to add someone between 10% to 15% as a fee. The price should stay the same through the preorder period because they are made to order so Tamashii will produce as much units as the get preorders in. After release the price will rise. The VF-171EX Alto Custom Super Parts was released in December 2012 at 5040 Yen and is now almost 6 month after release at 7880 Yen (at NY) which is an increase of 56% if my quick math is correct.
  14. Sometimes you have to envy the people who collect Valkyries because they look cool and don't know anything about the Macross universe.
  15. PTP(B)D rolls right off the tongue right?
  16. Thanks! I did the same with mine (loosen the screw) but already saw a crack in the "U" of the "NUNS" marking. Could be from yanking the shoulder pauldron into the part but it looks like a stress crack. It's definitely as bad as the cracked upper triangle piece but still.... Maybe some replacement shoulder bits come with the Super Parts. Someone should contact Bandai and suggest that.
  17. Because they envy Luca. The ELINT plane rounds up the squad of manly man rather nicely I think but I guess one has to be the odd "man" out. That he has the same colors than (DYRL?) Kakizaki doesn't help I guess. I Hope the Renewal version doesn't come in two different shades of green plastic that should have the same color like the V1 toy.
  18. Getting slightly offtopic here but there is nothing that a child cannot destroy NOTHING! If I couldn't destroy them by hand or with tools such as a hammer of scissors I cut my toys with a small blow torch.
  19. No Bandai will only replace the whole unit. Plus the chances are high that you have to pay shipping it back to your toy dealer if you imported it from Japan. In addition the shop you got it from might only be able to compensate you what you payed for the toy if replacement units aren't available. As for the small part. Anime52k8 posted a bunch of images in the VF-171EX Nightmare Plus Alto Custom thread showing disassembled parts of the toy. Maybe you're able to find that piece there. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36479&p=1030393 [edit:] Meanwhile I'm praying that the shoulder bits of my CF does not disintegrate until there is some kind of fix available.

    VF-1 Plush toy

I think the Regult is filling a hot-tub with water.
  21. Yes they are the triangle cover parts between the chest and the shoulder pauldrons. In the thread someone said that the shoulder joint is to thick so it applies to much pressure onto the housing causing the upper black triangle pieces (the one with the NUNS marking) to crack. I couldn't check the thread recently so better see for yourself if I got everything right. It's The Macross Thread in the Toyark sub-forum of TFW2005.com
  22. Having the Super Parts in hand I have to say that the white Skull & Crossbones are not that terrible because you can seem them on the off-white of the fuselage well enough.... ...but really Bandai why even bother? Just put them on the tail fins like the VF-1. Wouldn't cost much since you had the stencil and produced and payed for the color. Why not put them somewhere it would make sense? I would be good with the white SMS marking on the wing because surely the extra black paint and stencil would've caused a Bandai bankruptcy and you had so many leftover stencils and color from the Alto Custom so why even bother. And don't get me started with the missing color on the stand *shakes fist in anger* Overall I really like the pitchfork look of the plane with the parts attached. The thrusters on the wings can still support the extra weight and don't droop. What really would have been the icing on the cake would be the ultraviolent *cough* tint from the promotion pictures. I know it is all Photoshop these days but they look so much nicer. The same goes for the VF-171CF. But that's nitpicking! I'm a happy camper. Can't wait for the RVF-25.
  23. The VF-25F reissue will probably solve this mystery. We all just have two wait and be patient. Two releases for rather obscure stuff (the YR-29 30th Anniversary reissue and the VF-171CF) can give no indication if something changed with the production numbers. The availability of those two toys just shows that the scalpers seem lost their gamble.
  24. After reading through the Macross thread on TFW I think the better question would be how much of your VF-171CF shoulders are cracked.
  25. Tenjin-sama demands white option parts!
