  1. Ok I fiddled with my VF-19S today after it arrived from Angolz and it is amazing. I only transformed it for Fighter to Battroid because the Gewalk joint on the right leg wouldn't extend and I was anxious to break it (after I had the Valkyrie in Battroid mode it came loose by itself). The VF-19 is really astonishing. I like the design of the Frontier Valks generally more and prefer the YF-19 over the VF-19 but holy guacamole is it fun do play with *swoosh*. I would preferred a matte painted surface surface but that is only aesthetic. I will see how much I bothered with the Gerwalk-mode after a little bit more play time but I can say I like it. I don't love it at the moment but that can change. Sad to see Yamato go but now I have a memoriam. Ah and one of the tail wings does not peg in well as far as I can see but that is only a minor nitpick.
  2. I would say wait until release date to get one. You could monitor the releases of the VF-171CF and the RVF-25 to see how fast an when the stock on release day sells out. Also you could check this tread and see if some store can acquire more stock and reopen their preorder slots. Personally I would not pay the NY prices now because the market is overheating at the moment. But if you have the spare money and think better save then sorry than see of NY opens again with another markup. The last preorder windows stayed open awhile so the best solution would be to camp this thread here. Good luck!
  3. Well the good thing about the HLJ preorders is that some people will now cancel their preorder at NY meaning that NY will maybe open up their preorders again. Edit: I think he's referring to the recent HLJ preorders.
  4. I wonder how many (if any) of the items preordered from amiami are sold by NY.
  5. I feel your pain with the high markup but now I feel slightly better for ordering a YF-29 just a few days before the announcement of the reissue. Strange. I think I should order another VF-25S when it's got a re-release just to have some spare parts if anything gets damaged on my display Valkyries. I already have a broken metal hip bar on my Alto that needs a replacement. Damn I should start do learn 3D modeling or Japanese to resolve the issue myself. I'm really hoping that my preorders show up in good shape and not missing any parts or are broken/bend right out the box.
  6. Psst don't tell me that will eliminate the whole fun of finding out. But now I'm a member of the secret society of secret things. *puts on an acolyte robe and hums*
  7. Man I' really stoked what the whole deal is with those PMs going around the MAcross World. Is it a secret treasure map to Bandais warehouses? An IE zero day exploit to allow shopping without any lags or the fear of getting booted out at the check out? A secret telephone number where you can reserve as many DX Chogokins as you like for the tiny price of your worthless Gajin soul? A drug that makes you believe you're Scrooge Mc Duck and instead of swimming in a pile of money you're swimming in a sea of Renewals? What is it? Its a mystery packed inside a mystery packed inside an enigma. But I will find out! *grabs the Indiana Jones hat and whistles a song*
  8. True but the situation that you pay more for a preoder than for a direct order is still strange to me. But that's the dynamic of the market and scalpers speculate and lose I guess.
  9. Look who's playing secret society here. It's kinda funny that Bandai (and the market) created a situation where you have to fill a preorder in for a markup and then you can buy it after release cheaper (see YF-29). Shouldn't it be the other way round? *dreams of the nice amiami preorder discounts*
  10. I'm glad that I have one already. Now I can sit back and watch the World burn. Macross World that is.
  11. If not Yamato then definitely Bandai. I have a few Transformers Masterpiece toys and in my opinion they are inferior to Bandais offerings (DX Chogokin Renewal Valkyries <=> Takara tomy Masterpiece) Yeah I know paint scratching is an common issue from Bandai items but the paint jobs on some of the Sideswipe Masterpieces were just horrid. Thanks but no thanks. And even if they could make Macross popular in the West due to HG has a sudden change of heard or would be burned out of reality with Balefire I shiver to think what Hasbro or even Toynami would do with the license. I honestly think that Bandai would achieve the best results with the help of some external design teams. On the other hand Bandai is such a huge company that the probably never green-light projects like Yamato did with all the obscure Valkyries and color shemes. You would probably need a small company run by fans for fans like.... Yamato
  12. Hm Lucas Messiah is scheduled for June and the preorder window opened in March right? So assume that the preorders for the reissue might start on the first of April. Ehm I mean on Monday. *cough*
  13. I assume that the prices will go down a bit if the whole buying frenzy is over and people realize that the don't need all the Valkyries that the ordered in a hurry. If you can't get a toy at MSRP maybe it would be a smart move to wait a few month before resorting to ebay. I guess the Yamato prices are at a peek at the moment. Everyone in the business is thinking that now is the time to make a bag full of money because of the uncertainty of the situation.
  14. Yes I'm glad that nothing changed on the other hand it's sad the didn't change anything because it would made the bird better in my opinion. Where did you order it from Blues?
  15. Thanks. I was actually looking for a stand where I could display the Valk in all three modes. But since it's gonna be my only Yamato Valkyrie (hopefully ) I could invest in a Masters Light House and put it on my desk hm...... but it might be a little bit too large for it.
  16. I feel the same way. With a shorter nose cone and filled gaps between the canards and the wings you pretty much have the T-50. The J-20 has a very stretched fuselage (especially in the jet engine part) that you don't find on the YF-30 in my opinion.
  17. Really? Can you post that email or point me in the direction where to find it. I'm trying to collect all the data available regarding the Bandai distribution madness. Thanks for the clarification.
  18. Seems like my VF-19S got shipped today. I must say I'm a little bit excited about the toy itself. Still have no idea where I can get a affordable priced stand for the Excalibur.
  19. They sure don't but maybe they wont stock the DX Chogokin Macross toys anymore because they don't want to cope with Bandais distribution system anymore. It was just an explanation why there would be additional stock even if HLJ had decided not to sell the line anymore.
  20. I guess this is bad news for the VF-27 Renewal. Or good news because they do it after the reissues. I don't know. What I know for sure is that I hate the reissue because now I'm no longer one of the few people with these awesome toys. *cries manly tears* Glad to hear that. Hope this shows that Bandai recognize that the Renewals are highly desired items and crank up the production numbers this time. After the preoder slot for the YF-29 reissues I doubt that but one can dream.
  21. I assume that was because some of the customers who preordered the YF-29 canceled their order. HLJ could have decided to abandon the DX line with the RVF-25 because of the preorder madness that gets worse with every release.
  22. This looks great. I curious how shapeways parts feel like. Your head looks really smooth. Does it come this way or do you have to sand it down a lot? Just have experience with the HP DesignJet 3D printers. What I don't like are the sliver accents on the head. from the pictures it seems they are the only parts on the plane that have this color. Black or white accents would work much better imho but that are personal preferences I guess.
  23. I thought the board members who can read Japanese said that in the magazine article Bandai announced the Packs for the CF version.
  24. I thought the same thing about the color but then I guessed he is talking about the RVF-25 CF not Lucas plane.
  25. Personally I don't understand MISB collector especially when the toy does not have a flip-top box. But just because I can't understand it doesn't imply that is a wrong way of collecting. What ever floats your boat I guess.
