Gorgeous photos Saburo. Regarding the crotch support. I wonder why Bandai didn't engineer a prong that folds down from inside the crotch plate/fuselage section to hold it in place. I kinda understand it with the Armored versions since I assume that the armor set was designed after the Renewal Valkyries. If the frist few releases hadn't sold well I'm certain that Bandai would not have released the add-on sets or any additional Valkyries. So they probably where surprised that the Valkyrie could not stand on its own without additional help so the threw a few support pieces into the bag. The same goes for the piece that holds the legs together in Fighter-Mode Where I don't get it is for the Super VF-27 that has the same exact problem with the same filler piece solution. I guess it is a case of good enough. Maybe in a few years Arcadia (if they still exist) is able to to get the Frontier license. Imagine how gorgeous the Armored Messiah would look with a matte finish. -

I wonder how solid it will look from the side. Since it has a fake chest it seems like that the whole hood/bonnet part will be the torso and the engine part will be covered with the rear lid and the spoiler. It is a good take on the character since Takara seems to be stuck on the MP-09 transformation scheme.- 9279 replies

Yeah, but how fit the bigger toys into the line? Quin Mansa is 14k Yen, the Psycho Gundam is 10k. I know nothing about Japanese candy toys but I assume that they are cheap toys that you get in addition to the candy. I can see how the Gundam Mk-II fits into a candy toy line. I'm confused where the expensive toys fit into the picture.- 6025 replies

So I received a big package from HLJ today and in it was the Transfromers Legends Slipstream which is a beautiful looking toy. But the design has so many issues that I don't know where to start. To begin with the toy is in dire need for some more locking tabs. Nothing lines up in either mode. For example the nosecone has two tabs that should secure the forward fuselage to the torso of the bot. But the mold is either warped or not cut correctly so the nosecone always sits on an angle because it can't lock in correctly. In alt mode everything is warped and gappy and doesn't want to stay in its place. Especially the lower legs won't stay in either attached in either mode. In alt-mode there are no tabs and in bot mode the shins won't stay tabbed in their corresponding slots. Very weird toy. On the plus side the paint-job is awesome. Face sculpt also awesome overall look in bot-mode super awesome. Hopefully Windblade (the base character for the mold) will be a reoccurring bot in the Transformers media so we get more Slipstream toys out of it. Especially a voyager class toy would be great. The 2015/14 deluxe size class is just too small for the design with all the movable parts. Sadly Windblades sword was not included. While I think that the two included Nullrays fit Slipstream much better I love especially the sheath that came with the sword and would like to have it. [edit:] Btw. Q-Transformers are awesome. Buy some of them if you can.- 17164 replies

Thats the reason why I asked. The smaller releases all look like low quality candy toys while the bigger suits like the Quin Mansa and the Psycho Gundam are way better looking. Similar to the RD releases.- 6025 replies

So I had some time to play with my Arcadia VF-0A. No legs falling of so far. I have to say while the Two tone gray looks great it is really a weakness during the transformation. From just one circle I already have a paint rub in the underside of the intake (don't know where that came from) and a black smear on one of the shoulder pauldrons. The arm transformation just doesn't work well with the paint. I don't know if Arcadia can use some more durable paint but the one they uses feels very powdery and not strong. Opening the landing gear doors was a nightmare.

I don't need it, I don't need it.... Anyhow. Can someone explain what the Assault Kingdom figures are? I figured that the bigger toys are similar to Robot Damashii figures but they are actually too big for the RD line so Bandai created the Assault Kingdom line where they can do these big toys and have smaller candy toys to be in scale with the big boys. Is this about right?- 6025 replies

I assume that either the pure metal socket wouldn't have enough friction to allow the toy to hold poses. Especially when coated. The other think could be manufacturing differences. Maybe it is not possible to cast a metal ball that has everywhere the same diameter that would be necessary to have enough friction for poses.

I don't know I don't have one myself. I just thought it would be a cool idea that other might like.

I think the reason why we have this feeling of being ignored is that the problem was already present on the VF-0D and nothing has changed with the VF-0A. So if they are aware of the issue why not change it between releases. It is the same thing with the VF-171CF from Bandai. Why not include a set of spare shoulder pieces with the Armor Parts Set? Since the failure rate of those seem to be much (much) higher than on the Arcadia VF-0 toys Bandai clearly knows that the is an issue with. It just comes across as an attitude of: "yes we know of the problem but we don't do anything because you bought the toy already". I'm sure this is not the case for Arcadia (I'm not so sure about Bandai ) but since most of us don't live in Japan and don't understand Japanese that is the impression we have. Of course it doesn't help that we have zero options of getting replacement parts or a replacement unit. Even with HLJ most of what you can get is either a discount or a refund because once the toy is sold out that is the only option. So we feel helpless (because we are) and not recognized by Arcadia so we have to do something to change it. Yeti made a good video showing what the issue is and how to fix it. As you said Arcadia is likely to know the issue but why don't they act on it. The fact that a VF-0 costs $300 doesn't help! The fact that jenius a respected reviewer of Macross toys has this issue on both his VF-0 doesn't help! ChaoticYeti I will take your poll once I have the VF-0A in hand this weekend.

I wonder why Arcadia decided not to extend the lower legs forward a bit covering the fugly knee joints. If they need the room for the joint to work I assume they could have extended the sliding mechanism for the legs so that the lower leg sits further away. That would also make the Battroid-Mode taller which would be a good thing since the YF-19 is too short. It also would've made the legs more line art accurate. In the picture they are much more drawn out forward than on the Arcadia toy. The VF-19ADVANCE does it better. Thinking about it it would probably have change the proportions in Battroid-Mode or maybe there wasn't enough room in the legs for the mechanism. Regardless of that I love how aggressive the YF-19 looks in the forward fuselage/nosecone area.

I would love to have an MP Trailbreaker. My worries are not that the backpack doesn't lock into place but rather the gappiness of it. it looks hallow and should sit closer to the rest of the body. What I love about Tracks' transformation is the fact that the sides split up and form a nice back of the robot mode.- 17164 replies

I also passed on the UCS Millenium Falcon. Maybe where lucky and they release a new UCS Falcon for the new movie trilogy. I heard the old one was a cool looking piece but rather boring to build.

The PT hands that can be stored in the forearms are very tiny. The additional posable hands are the same as the one on the VF-1. I never understood why Yamato went with the smaller hands. couldn't they just make wider forearms? Maybe I'll understand it once I have a VF-4G in hands.

Have you thought about gluing the wall mount piece to the inside of Detolf cabinet? There the fall height wouldn't be as high as on walls of a room. You could even create a mount that attaches to the glass floors of the cabinet. Basically like a glove that wraps around the glass floors maybe with some rubber inlets so it is secured firmly to the floor. Something like that: So you could use the space for the walls and ceilings a bit better. [edit:] the attachment for the arms should be either on the top or the bottom to work properly. [edit2:] Since pixel art doesn't suffice my artistic needs I added a picture of the idea.

Thanks wmkjr. This image clearly shows that the SV-626 has only one tail-fin. From Yetis gif I assumed it would have to one on the top and one on the bottom. The fin in the bottom seems to be part of the gun-pod. If it is correct that the tail-fin is a shield and that the arm is connected to it than it could be that the SV-626 has one shield and one gun-pod arm similar to Samus Aran and Mega Man. Of course this would me a major departure form existing Valkyrie designs so I don't think it is the case but at least it could be that the gun hand grips the gun-pod in Fighter-Mode. Both would be cool features though.
-
I agree that this looks like a gun-pod. Can you upload an image with the rear end of the Valkyrie in frame. The image you posed indicates that the lower tail fin is part of the gun-pod.
