All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
Scyla replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think the game has multiple problems. Where I think Dishonored succeeds is world building. The whole setting is presented nicely mostly flows besides the main story. Also it provides a lot of ways how to infiltrate the base and the blink mechanic is mighty nice. I agree that many of the skills are not setup for a stealth run. However in most games that offer stealth gameplay I've made the experience that you need very little to succeed. In MGS2 I only used the tranquilizer gun in Deus Ex: Human Revolution I had major problems with the bosses because I never shot a gun before and so on. What Dishonored offers is actually pretty good and makes the game too easy (at least in the default difficulty). See through walls, freeze time, I agree that TF:FoC is the way to go. I assume it won't take that long to complete the story mission so I will have plenty of time for the Witcher around Christmas.- 6899 replies

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
Scyla replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So after picking up Dishonored at release date (which was apparently over three years ago) I finally was able to play it and finish it today. It is a really well done game and I recommend it if you haven't played it already. Sadly I've encountered some quick safe glitches so I wasn't able to finish it with no kills and no alerts on the first run. I'm debating right now if I should: Buy the DCL Play it again with the highest difficult setting and no kills/alerts Play something else At the moment I'm tending to 3. and start Witcher 2 (a game I also bought on release date and never played) or finish the Dragon Age trilogy with Inquisition. Hm decisions decisions. I think I will play Transformers: Fall of Cybertron first which I've gotten during the last Steam sale. [edit:] Regarding FF7: I'm sure the game will be disappointing.- 6899 replies

How can you say that when the gun is missing the vents and has the wrong color?

8800 Yen for the Anubis? I should never have preordered it.- 6025 replies

I just wish that someone would send him an HD camera for Christmas.

I'm sure they will not print the U.N.SPACY logos onto the legs
-
Interestingly the red color is what draws me to this Valkyrie. Too many white Valkyries in my Frontier display area.
-
But the leg packs should also have the U.N.SPACY printed on them. I don't get why they omit the printings. Maybe they looked at the M³ picture when deciding which printings to include and which not.

Amazing work Mr. March. Thank you very much.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next

I think it is a Takara Mall exclusive that means HLJ normally won't stock it. See Unite Warriors Defensor. Also the price is not that bad if you take into account that the Asia exclusive MP-11SW Skywarp was $199.- 17164 replies

I agree. If you take a look at the Yamato 1/72 VF-11B you can see how flimsy the heat shield is for a smaller toy. Imagine the outrage if Bandai included a piece of foil for the heat shield instead of a swappable part.
-
Bandai this madness has to stop with Delta. If a preorders sell out that fast for the YF-29 something is very wrong. Of course I missed it.
-
BBTS has a preorder up: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN16729&mode=retail Not sure if you like their price.

No, just rumors. I doubt that anyone from Arcadia will actually say which licenses they have and which one they don't. When Arcadia announces a 1/60 VF-1 reissue we know they have the license. If Bandai announces a new 1/60 DX Chogokin we know that Arcadia has lost the license.
-
In the Black Friday sale two years ago I canceled and renewed all my preorders because there where a flat 20% discount on all items. It seems like it is the same sale as last year where where I made a mistake in ordering the Riobot Jehuty just to see it go on sale on a much higher discount a few weeks later. Not this time HLJ *shakes fist in anger*

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread

However since the rest of the armor is inspired by the VF-31 design I wonder where the design cues for the weapon stem from. [edit:] I see Grahams allegiance lies with the Dark Side. [edit2:] I just got the idea that maybe the Nyalkyrie Weapon design gave us a glimpse into what the VF-31 gun-pod will look like. This could be an indication that the VF-31 weapon will split up similar to the YF-29/YF-30 gun-pod.- 2715 replies

I thought this was the idea of the Bishoujo line. To enforce the bishoujo style on characters that are not suited for it.

I think they are pretty hard to come by after release. I know NY had Luke Skywalker and the Storm Trooper after release for an inflated price. The S.H.Figuarts Darth Vader will be reissued in December but I haven't heard anything about the other figures released so far.

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread
Scyla replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think the images of the SV-262 clearly show some sort of gun-pod on the underside of the plane: (More images in the SV-262 thread in the toy section) Also the silhouette of the VF-31 shown in the trailer looks more like a Valkyrie holding a gun than a Valkyrie holding a sword. Since Kawamori said he wants to focus more on Valkyrie vs. Valkyrie action doesn't rule out the possibility of elaborate melee fights. However due to the fact that 2/3 modes of a Variable Fighter are hi-speed/hi-maneuverability modes doesn't fit in with hand to hand combat whereas a Gundam is more or less a giant suit of armor so melee combat seems are more natural fit for Gundams.- 2715 replies

Here is a video showing how the 1/48 Megasize kits work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdvMUgZGicM#t=10m25s Maybe you can figure out if this will work for your kid.

I disagree. First I think you can make the transformation work but you probably have to modify parts of it. Similar to how the Yamcadia VF-1 has no leg delivery system. I think that the modifications have to be a more to the radical side and that you need a several years of experience designing PT Valkyries to get it right. I agree that the leg mechanism shown in the line-art probably won't work. Second I think even with the transformation scheme by ET you can do a way better approach hiding all the parts that are not perfect. The chest pegs, the hinges for the nacelles, the backpack, the way the arms align, the gappiness in Fighter-Mode. This is stuff that could have been improved but they chose not to. Bandai and Arcadia are probably able to pull this off so I'm looking forward if the HMR VF-2SS comes to fruition.
-
Well that looks better but I still think that the underside remains terrible. I want to see shots form the under- and backside in Fighter-Mode. Also those hinges on the nacelles couldn't they have a more elegant solution? This is still due in December?

I'm interested. I can't see the image right now but from the comments I assume that it won't come as a bundle with the add-on parts?
