Since I have two pinkish white VF-1S in my collection I would prefer pinkish white. ^_° -

The five Iron Dibots from Fanstoys are enough Dinobots for my likeness. I would be all over a proper MP Megatron, Galvatron, Cycolus and Scourge.- 17164 replies

I think omiting the paint details is a deliberate choice by Takara to make the MPs more cartoon accurate. Otherwise I can't explain it. Why paint the face under Ultra Magnus' head with two or three paint applications and leave the tail lights blank? It wouldn't cost them more to switch the paint from one place to anther. I mean who is really fond of white Convoys face with the missing lower jaw? Another reason why I think it is deliberate as the cartoon slavishness on the sculpts of recent MPs. Ironhide and Hot Rodimus follow the minimum detail approach in robot mode.- 17164 replies

I like the red bumper. But I agree they are too toon centric nowadays. No painted lights on UM lower legs is just another example. As are the plain lower legs on MP Ironhide and the whole Hot Rodimus toy.- 17164 replies

If you're not set on the UM paint scheme I would suggest to go with Delta Magnus since Takara is terrible with painting white areas.- 17164 replies

Compared with Frontier I can't spot a head turret that really blows me away. With Frontier the VF-25S and G had supreme turret sculpts. That said the VF-25F head turret looks much better fully revealed. Much less Gogo Dodo.I'm indifferent on the turret of Mirages Valkyrie. So the VF-31S is still my favorite. -

MP Ultra Magnus had a reissue this month so he should be available. The red bumper is animation accurate to the g1 cartoon that is why it's there. If I remember correctly the G1 toy had a chromed bumper.- 17164 replies

I think having a moving inner frame is what draws me to Bandais kits. Its almost if you where assembling a robot by yourself. I think Bandai wants to reduce the number of MG kits they release over the year to make them something special (like the V2, Hi-Nu, Nu, Sazabi) with lots of gimmicks, waterslide decals and so on. I'm ok with that especially if the RG offer a quick shot of Gunpla since I don't want to have a gigantic backlog of kits. So one MG kit per year is fine for me.

We don't know at the moment. All we know is that Mikumos origins are shrouded in mystery so she could very well be a cyborg. Since we see only her do the feats you are describing she seems to be different to the other girls from Walkure. I think the primary function of the VF-31 is to protect the idols as best as possible and disarm the enemy units to that Walkure can cure them from the Var syndrome as well as bringing the Walkure support equipment to the battlefield. -
I want to add that Destroid Armour Waxer and Bridge Bunny are titles given by the board. The actual username is in the bar above it.

As vlenhoff said it is up to you to define the scope of your collection. I think the best rule is buy what you like but if you have severe mental problems (like myself ) some artificial rules might help. To give an example: I'm a completionist. I love to have complete lines of toys that are their own entity. So one rule is to only buy toys that have molding differences. So I would buy a VF-0A/S/D but no VF-0A CF since I have the Shin version already. Or I want to have a VF-1 collection but I don't want to be complete on all the VF-1 Yamcadia ever released so I limit myself only to DYRL? releases so the collection is manageable. Or you could say you only want a Macross Plus collection of 1/60 Valkyries which are three releases and you're done. Don't be to strict otherwise it won't be fun. I for example have a VF-25G and A which violated my rules but that is ok because I'm crazy.

Well you could limit yourself to only the enemy mecha and Destroids of course. The for them getting a (re-) release is rather slim so you don't have to buy doubles later on and still have a representation of them in your collection.

Regarding the first questions. Since in my country it is cheaper to import Transformers form Japan than buy them in stores (where only 1/10 of the stuff shows up) I buy the Japanese versions and enjoy the extra attention of detail that the toys have (i.e. more paint apps). Regarding MP Ultra Magnus. He is incredible fun to handle but there are some problems with the toy that mar the MP line from the point Hasui left the helm. The weird butt flap, the gaps in the shins and so on. Combined with qc issues like the gate marks on the forearms, inconsistent white paint (on my copy), hindered articulation and weird design choices (no matrix, no paint details on the legs) make him a so so toy. As a playable toy for adults he is ace though. He is also much better than Star Saber.- 17164 replies

I think the Yamato one hat the same problems with the loose elbow joint in the left arm and the loose missile tabs.

Oh Arcadia, you and your ankles.

Wasn't a VF-0A unknown soldier announced two Wonder Fests ago by Arcadia (or at least hinted at it)? It should be the one where they showed a first render of the Reactive Armor.
