  1. I'd love to have a DYRL version of Max' VF-1S and Kakizakis VF-1A with Super-Strike parts. Otherwise I have to sell my Arcadia versions and buy the Yamato ones to have a consistent coloring.
  2. That leaves the question what level of bad it is. I have determined the following levels: Toynami bad 1/72 Yamato bad V1 VF-25 bad V1 VF-1 bad VF-0A Arcadia bad Pick and choose
  3. Maybe Save should re-enlist under a new board name. Not as SaveRobotech but as SaveVF-2SS.
  4. The sky is falling. Sell your VF-2SS as long as you can. I will pay $10 for it.
  5. The sad thing, if this is a shelf warmer, is that Bandai and Arcadia will look at it and say there is no money to be made with Macross 2 and they will forsaken the license for the next 5 to 20 years. However the presale numbers seemed to be high enough to warrant several releases of the VF-2SS. So it seems there is an interest there. If this comes from the retailers that think that a Macross 2 Valkyrie will sell as well as other high-priced Macross PT items no matter the quality/manufacturer or the fans that preordered enough units I cannot tell.
  6. I'm glad you like him. I think what kills Ordin for me are the lackluster limbs especially after a very strong Troll. Siegfried benefits from not being a limbs so I can see why you are happy with it but for me it would be all-in or nothing on Abominus. I guess he looks good from the front but I imagine the folded up hips of Siegfried aren't hidden from the side or the back. I myself display all my robots with their backsides facing me. Different topic. Has anyone found out if Perfect Effects Warden is compatible with the Titans Return Fort Max? I personally don't own a Fort Max and never will but I thought it would be interesting to have a Warden head on Fort Max. Got a notice from the mailman so that probably means my MMC Jaguar has arrived. I'm excited to check him out. Even if the toy sucks (doubt it) I still have the awesome audio cassette packaging with liner notes and all.
  7. I think the box-art is the best aspect of the toy. I really like it.... except ugly hinges are ugly.

That is a creepy avatar Exo!
  9. I think a transformable Unicorn Gundam is out of question since it would be to finicky to handle/assemble. So my money would be on a Destroy Mode Unicorn or the Sinanju. I have the RD versions of those so so interest in Gunpla. Where are the other Gundam Wing EW RG kits Bandai? WHERE?!?!?!?
  10. That report scares the hell out of me. My VF-0A will never see Battroid- or Gerwalk-Mode ever again. That way I can pretend the leg is still attached to the hips and I don't see the scratches on my copy. Win win for everybody.
  11. Yeah, the yellow-striped one. Maybe it changed to to "broader" appeal.
  12. As Mommar said there will be a problem with the tail-fins of the VF-0D. They wrap around the lower leg and are not part of the backpack like on the VF-0A/S
  13. I usually don't order form the states. Especially no Japanese toys since I get hit with double import duty since the us based retailers have to ship it to them and than to me where I have to pay a customs fee. The only exception are Hasbro and 3rd party Transformers that I can't get otherwise and stuff that is sold out elsewhere. Shipping prices are comparable to importing form Japan or Hong Kong but I can't tell you exactly since 95% of the stuff from the states are BBTS PoL orders where it is hard to tell how much exactly you payed for shipping.
  14. At the first presentation of the Macross Frontier mecha last year they had a sign in front of the SV-262 with the transformation triangle on it (the one on the back of the packaging for the Renewal Valkyries). Fighter-Mode showed the one we know and Battroid- and Gerwalk-Mode had a big question mark a question mark in the shape of a VF-1 (!!!) on it so I think it is fairly certain that the SV-262 will have all the standard Valkyrie features.
  15. For me it is hard to judge how good of a VF-2SS representation it is going to be. At first glance they seem to got everything wrong. The shoulder blocks should sit behind the secondary intakes not behind. The whole Fighter is twice as thick as it should be. But without having the toy in hand I can not judge what they could have done differently. Maybe their premise was to create a toy that has the emphasis on Battroid-Mode and everything else is lacking due to that. And while I like my Valkyries in Battroid-Mode the fascination for transformable mecha in Macross comes from the fact that they look like real fighter jets (well as real as it gets) that transform into robots. This derivation from the Transformers principle of having a robot hang on the underside of the airplane is what drives me to them. When translating drawn designs (which is true for the VF-2SS) to a 3D toy you have to make sacrifices when it comes to Battroid-Mode because it will never look as bulky as shown in the line-art due to anime magic. That is why Yamatos offerings do not look like in the show when it comes to Battroid-Modes. That is true for their SDF-M/DYRL and M7 toys. If you compare the VF-17 toy to the animation model you can make out the differences. Yamato/Arcadia and to an extend Bandai got very good in minimizing the gap between real life design and animation model. ET has a lot to learn there. So if ET has chosen to design with Battroid-Mode in mind first a lot of what is lacking in Fighter-Mode is explainable. Since they have the most experience with non-transformable super robot toys I can see why they did it this way. However that is not my preferred approach. For me Fighter-Mode should look as close to the animation model as possible. I could deal with shortcomings in the Battroid-Mode because they have to be expected. In addition most first approaches look terrible to todays versions when it comes to Macross toys. Compare Yamatos V1 VF-1 to their V2 version or the Frontier Valkyries to the Renewal toys. In addition the VF-2SS seems even harder to get right than the VF-1 since it has a more complex transformation and an incredible thin Fighter-Mode. I think ET will learn a lot from their first Valkyrie but I can't see them doing a second version of it. The toy looks so similar to Yamatos first steps in the Valkyrie business with the 1/72 scale Macross Plus toys, which are terrible compared to todays Valkyries. I have to wait for some in-hand reports until I can make a final judgment and if the Battroid-Mode is solid I can appreciate their VF-2SS for what it is even if it is not what I would have wished for. It would be incredibly interesting to see how Arcadia or Bandai would approach this mecha.

    I think he means a hypothetical 1/60 Koenig Monster. [edit:]Just a Monster.
  17. Yeah it is but it's a retool of the build a bot version from the Generations line (or whatever it is called) so it has all the wonky stuff from that plus a few additional details that make her less appealing. David is right, we need a better version of her. Maybe MMC can make us a IDW styled version of Windblade. I'd be down for that (seeing Davids thread over at TFW).
  18. Man that Darth Revan is awesome. I'm sure he sells out quickly and I won't have a chance to get one.
  19. It seems like the toned down the colors on Victorion:
  20. Check out your Transformers new site of choice, they should have some images from Toy Fair 2016. Here is a picture of Fort Max: He looks freaking amazing. I wish I had a child that I could gift that toy to. For my collection it's just too big. It looks way better than Metroplex in my opinion. Must be the white. Anyhow here are some links to more pictures: http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/02/13/toy-fair-2016-fortress-maximus-display-images-309695 http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/02/13/toy-fair-2016-titans-return-display-images-309696 http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/02/13/toy-fair-2016-robots-disguise-309699 http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/02/13/toy-fair-2016-combiner-wars-platinum-edition-images-309698
  21. My money goes to the company that is able to release a highly articulated Shredder that looks like the one form the animated tv show!
  22. I agree that this could be the case. However Scattershot has a remolded robot head That doesn't look that different from Silverbolt (basically it has a visor). I think if something was worth remolding it was the combiner head since in my opinion this would be the most important part of a combiner. The other heads you don't see very often (in 1 of 3 cases). I would be super interested to know how these decisions where made and by whom. I need to find out if Hasbro is hiring.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I think there is a difference between a true two seater variant an the passenger seat, no?. For example the VF-25 has a second seat but we only ever see it as a mean to transport people. The YF-25 on the other hand has a proper second seat for a second pilot. It could be that I'm wrong but that is how I imagined.
  24. I still don't get why Computron has a faceplate.
