  1. The bsnes emulator gets a facelift for HDTVs. Mode 7 never looked better.
  2. I've seen a few Yamato Ingrams come and go at Mandarake during the past year. It's how I got Unit 2, in fact. They are impeccable figures and will be hard to beat by any other company wanting to make another AV-98 toy. Now I just await for a matching Griffon or AV-X0.
  3. Yeah, kinda lame. It's covenient if you don't have the time to make your own, but even then, 16 games seems lacking compared to arcade library Capcom has.
  4. Word on street says it's going to be a plug and play full sized arcade stick pre loaded with Capcom arcade games like Aliens vs Predator, Progear, and Darkstalkers. Price is rumored to be around $200.
  5. Back in the day, I tried to track down a copy of Eliminate Down but I just couldn't afford the afrermarket prices for it. I should not have given up because after playing a bit of it, I could say that it could rival the best shooters on the Mega Drive.
  6. Ooh Battle Mania 2. I always wished for that one to be released in the US as well.
  7. I'm not into the Star Wars figures, but my interest was piqued with the Marvel stuff. I think Logan fits this theme the most compared to other superheroes.
  8. Unfortunately, BBTS is now collecting sales tax from CA customers. They just started doing this and I remember getting an email from them about this not too long ago.
  9. It's official: Left Alive, the latest game to take place in the Front Mission world is on a new level of suck. I already had a feeling it was gonna be bad, but reading a few reviews about it has led me to believe it's worse than I thought. I love FM, but I won't be touching this game with a 10 foot pole.
  10. It's gonna be a reboot where Luke and Leia finally get it on.
  11. I actually still boot up FM 3 from time to time, and I would have to say my fave backup character is Li. Simply because someone in the development team wanted to put Bruce Lee in a mech. This is made more evident in Li's victory pose (especially in a lanky melee-equipped Lenghe wanzer).
  12. When I saw Pandinus' grey test shots, I was sold on his stocky appearance. That appeal diminished when I saw his final colors, which is a mess imo. That combined with a steep asking price led me to pass up on Pandinus. I figured I would save the cash for MT's Trypticon who I preferred over Scorponok anyways.
  13. Utopia is my definitive choice for Metroplex. I was hoping MT would've done their Trypticon by now but they went with Scorponok instead.
  14. I loves me some Front Mission. "Salvo" skill plus missile launcher refills is always fun.
  15. They got me on this one. I passed up on the Aston Martin, but I couldn't say no to a fastback Mustang.
  16. "Hot Blooded Family", right? Yeah, it's been forever since I played that one at my friend's dorm. I remember it being slower paced and quite long for a beat-em-up. Hyperduel is a fine shooter in its own right. The way Technosoft worked the transformable fighter gimmick is far easier and more fun than what any Macross shooter offers. It's not that it's not good, it just seemed like a let down after TFV. I heard that it was different team that made TFVI, and it's evident in the music and in some things that made it seem like a tired rehash. I can't remember exactly what gave me that impression though.
  17. Both choice shooters-good haul! Oh yeah, Devil Engine is pretty sweet, a worthy addition to the ThunderForce legacy. (I'll just forget about TF VI)
  18. Considering how much was crammed into two hours of film, this movie rocked. Action sequences were superb and major plot points from the source material were delivered in a not-TOO-convoluted pace. I took my mom to see this, and even she had a good time without knowing a lick of the manga. Glad I caught it on the big screen, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Maybe mama bear can make it this time!
