  1. Just preordered the next ICONS kit, A. Senna's Mclaren MP4:
  2. The Skyraider looks great. It's disappointing to hear about the Corsair not having functional landing gear though, and that's quite unusual for a BV kit.
  3. Upgrades to be added tonight: "Tier One : Customized Personal Shikishi - $2000 (limit of 10) These shikishi are created specifically for the recipient and are completely unique. They are hand-drawn and colored by Mikimoto-sensei, and the recipient can make suggestions as to the content which the artist will take into consideration when creating the artwork. The subject matter must be Macross II-related. In some cases there may be some back-and-forth discussions before the artist settles on an acceptable design. Tier Two : Semi-Customized Limited Edition Shikishi - $800 (limit of 30) These shikishi will all use the same base drawing, which will be created exclusively for use in this tier. The core line art and base hair and skin color work will be printed on shikishi boards, and then the artist will individually color the clothing and background of each shikishi before inscribing and signing/numbering them. Tier Three : Limited Edition Printed Shikishi - $300 (limited to one per project backer) These shikishi will all use the same new fully detailed and colored drawing (so they will have the same level of detail as the other tiers) but are fully printed reproductions. As with all the other shikishi, they will be personally inscribed and signed/numbered by the artist. Note that this tier will not use the same base drawing as tier two! Mikimoto-sensei wants to get input from interested backers about possible design suggestions for the Tier Two and Three drawings. So opine away in the comments. He has also told us that he intends to use the Tier Two and Three artwork to experiment with drawing on a computer in the shikishi style, which should result in something very interesting indeed!" Attached are examples from the Megazone 23 Kickstarter: Very pricey upgrades, and yet very tempting...
  4. FFXVI is visual feast for the PS5. It's definitely a more action oriented RPG compared to something more traditional like the Tales series. I found the story quite enjoyable, but the "crafting" element is useless imo. In any case, it's a great title to showcase the PS5's visual prowess, especially with the boss battles.
  5. The 1st remake is gonna get some free single player and multiplayer content: I think I'm almost done with the FM2 remake. It's a difficult game for sure. Much harder than the first game. It just seems like the RNG has a bias for enemy actions.
  6. Lovin it, both the Einhander and your starship collection!
  7. Minus One is coming back to theaters next month...in monochrome: At least in Japan, no word yet if this version will also be shown in the US. Found more info: "We are now able to announce Godzilla-1.0/C, which we have been working on for a long time. Rather than just making it monochrome, it is a cut by cut, I had them make adjustments while making full use of various mattes, as if they were creating a new movie. What I was aiming for was a style that looked like it was taken by masters of monochrome photography. We were able to unearth the texture of the skin and the details of the scenery that were hidden in the photographed data. Then, a frightening Godzilla, just like the one in the documentary, appeared. By eliminating color, a new sense of reality emerges. Please live and resist further fear at the theater." - Takashi Yamazaki
  8. I got nothing against Macross II, even with the wonky looking Metal Siren. Definitely looking forward to this release. Macross II also had some great tunes; for a background character Wendy Ryder's songs were outstanding:
  9. I was real glad to watch this during its last few days in the theaters. I was always curious to see how humans could defend themselves against the big G without any tech from maser trucks or Super X weapons. Great effects, big sound, just an overall good watch. Highlights for me included:
  10. I will wait patiently if this will give them enough time to scuplt a good Apple companion figure.
  11. Behold my latest acquisition: A personalized shikishi sketch from Sonoda himself (just had to blur my name a bit) depicting the better half of the team!
  12. What wonderous flea market sells Patlabor? In my area you would only go to flea markets to find a missing half of a lawn mower or crafts made of stuff found in a recycling bin. I need this to pair with the big Yamato Ingram!
  13. It's quite a unique name for sure, and the mention of "brave" leads me to think that there will be super robot tropes in the show later on. Found this banner for the show:
  14. Masami Obari (Dangaioh, Gravion) is coming back with a new mecha show that seems far more grounded than his previous super robot works: At first glance, it reminds me of Full Metal Panic, and even Front Mission. Regardless, it's good to Obari taking the helm again.
  15. The Baron Harkonnen figure is awesome :
  16. Just a follow up; the X-Wing sold for a little over three million USD
  17. After putting in a couple of hours into FM2, I see it needs a little more polish. The translation so far isn't bad, but it's on the rough side. I've also run into some glaring typos, which I think is inexcusable with the ease of auto correction today. Minor niggles aside, the graphic upgrade is better than the one in the FM1 remake, and the sound effects are quite good. The combat scenes are more dynamic and flow much faster than those in the original game. Just a much better way to play FM2 than using a modded PS1 and a translated online script.
