  1. Hey I just wanted to thank you guys again for suggesting the Tamiya X-21. I picked some up today and mixed some satin finish using the ratio's on the web page linked above. Worked perfectly and the future self-smoothing properties gave everything a pretty awesome finish...so thanks!!!
  2. Hahaha, oh man, that was a good read.
  3. Why don't you scan a yamato v2 VF-1 and do the same scaling then?
  4. I'm really not a Frontier fan at all and I've never had any inclination to buy any valks from that series. However, the VF-25A looks pretty good with it's low-viz-ish scheme, so I just went and pre-ordered one from NY. I chose to sleep last night and now I'm paying for it...literally haha.
  5. Oh wow, that looks fantastic. Is the VF-0D a teaser of what else is to come?
  6. Black Aces VF-1. That is all.
  7. I have a quick question that can probably be easily answered by one of the many modelers around here. I've been using future floor polish (Pledge Futureshine) and the finish is fairly glossy. I was wondering what's the best way to dull the finish of future, down to flat or semi-gloss? I have some testors acrylic clearcoats, does future react ok by mixing the two?
  8. Well, I pulled the trigger on pre-ordering the VF-1S Roy from HLJ. I'll probably end up using a lot of my leftover 1/72 F-14 decals to make it into some other non-cannon squadron.
  9. Hmmm, if someone is willing to sell me their 1A head from the Hikaru kit, I may buy the Roy valk... Yes, I realize that Roy never used the 1A head...
  10. Does this model come with a VF-1A head as well? I recall seeing some pictures with the 1A head that looked a lot better than the 1S.
  11. I wonder if the wings will sweep all the way back?
  12. Please do! That'd be awesome. Thanks.
  13. Whoh, that's a yamato kit. Where did that build up come from?
  14. Hah, I actually have my Yamato YF-19 with Alto's wing super packs mounted. They...sorta stay on...
  15. I love how this thread is basically 3 pages of people going "YEAAHHHH!" That said, YEAAAH!!!!
  16. Real nice. I'd buy one as well if it were sold with that scheme.
  17. Raw cheap particle board is bad, but I think that sealed stuff is *better*. I mean, plastic has what's caused an "inherent vice" anyway, so it's not going to last forever no matter what you do. How long it lasts and how it degrades depends on the types of plastics used, but yeah, you shouldn't expect it to look new in box perfect in 80 years.
  18. Adhesives used when constructing wood storage units will frequently exhibit acidic off-gassing, which would interact negatively with the plastics and anything else you have in there.
