  1. Do they need money to purchase the publishing rights from Sony?
  2. I had to see that for myself... and was surprised to discover that last issue had a Japanese scale chart hastily inserted into a panel...!
  3. The issue is confused by casting an actress we're used to seeing with blonde hair, dying that hair red to establish a character with a consistent hair color over seven years of movies, and then suddenly portraying her as a blonde. Rationally, we can assume the character has decided to dye her hair blonde, but it's disconcerting... and subconsciously, we're thinking "Did someone forget to dye Scarlett Johansson's hair this time?" I think it was a terrible decision for Infinity War, and apparently it's still causing confusion in Endgame (which is already confusing enough at the story level).
  4. I just can't wrap my head around this. Over forty 1:48 Valkyries displayed on a custom-made flight deck base in fighter mode... ...and only ONE of them with landing gear deployed?

  6. So, you have three completely different 1:72 VF-4 Valkyrie fighter mode resin garage kits?
  7. You can have my Figuarts Ronin, dude. I'll be content with just the Hawkeye. And Boba's still available on Amazon.co.jp.
  8. "Destroyed?" Well, I suppose it gets destroyed eventually... It's just a matter of time, really. In other words, it's a "time thing."
  9. Awesome, Bolt. Looking forward to this one. So, like, is anybody building anything that isn't 1:72...?
  10. All of 'em, if we're lucky. Anything to help supply equal demand. The Max 1A pre-order madness was... madness.
  11. In the hopes that the "Built It Competition" hosted by @Return To Kit Form exceeds 20 entries ('cause I'm dead-set on getting a 1:72 Norbert Gerard Power Armour kit!), I've decided to devote all my resources to the task... meaning I'm gonna spend the next six months building all three of my Macross resin kits. The third and final entry is the oldest kit, and will definitely prove the most challenging; it's also the only officially-licensed resin kit I own, produced by Hobby Base RETPPU. I bought it nearly 25 years ago, back when Macross Plus was the hottest property in the franchise. And wouldn't you know it, 25 years later, Macross Plus is STILL the hottest property in the franchise.

The second is another Moscato Hobby kit, "Z Alien Commander Kamujin." This one I'll be making into an action figure, with articulated joints. Stay tuned!

The first is the largest and most expensive of them, Moscato Hobby's "Z Alien Interceptor," produced by the great folks at R2KF. Stay tuned!
  14. So, Amazon immediately sent me a replacement... ...and I'm happy to say it's a major improvement. With proper tabs on the wings this time, everything locks up securely in the back... No glue residue on the surface this time around, and the joints in the right arm are now strong enough to handle the weight of the gun. However, there are some unique problems with the new one as well, like that stress mark on the protruding peg... ...and, while much less greasy overall, there's still a significant amount of oil on the thighs. Still, it's good to know they aren't all garbage.

    Macross figures

If it's printed with a decent SLA printer, it'll be smooth as glass. Liquid resin has come a helluva long way in the last few years. Check out the curves on this 3D-printed model, for example: There's more detail present than can even be seen with the naked eye!
  16. When it comes to character likeness on 1:12 scale figures, Bandai continues to raise the bar: Wow...! Thanks, guys! It's still a work-in-progress -- and the only tank I've ever attempted -- but your support is much appreciated. Oh, and by the way, Kuma... Photographing 'Bee outside, layered on top of the letterbox framing? That's some next-level sh*t right there, Boss.
  17. I'm really glad I caught this on the big screen, in a packed theatre; audience reactions were a big part of the experience for me. And Thor being played for laughs is SOP since Ragnarok... and isn't a jokey Guardians of the Galaxy vibe better for Thor than a stone-faced Winter Soldier vibe?

    Hi-Metal R

Yeah, but any attempt to paint the face at that scale would undoubtably result in something much creepier.

    Macross figures

We'd be royally screwed if it didn't...!

Yeah, the pinstripes and pockets are gonna be a major pain.
  21. Well, the Dark Legioss passes the bare minimum required for an Evolution Toy: it cuts a heroic figure. But look closer, and problems are immediately apparent: See how that panel just hangs loose under the right arm? There's no enough tension to hold it up, and nothing to lock it in place where it belongs... ...and the wrist lacks the strength or the tension to hold the gun straight, too. The port wing has a properly-molded tab to lock the wings into the fuselage for Armo-Soldier mode, but the starboard wing has only a malformed stump. The right forearm, at least, fits fairly flush with the shoulder (as long as you don't tab the arm into the leg below it)... ...but the left forearm won't go in any further than this. And look at that glue residue on the shoulder! In fact, glue residue and grease are all over the toy... ...and the surface shows visible stress marks and oily fingerprints, even before transformation is attempted. It's a pain to deal with returns through Amazon.jp, but I can't accept this garbage. Yeah, that's about how I feel about the quality control. Mine's a total crap show. They're 1:60th. Note how well they display with Bandai, Yamato, and Arcadia figures at the same scale: I display them with the Toynami Alphas, and they scale really well together.
