Last year, I saw a couple on the shelves of our local Toys 'R' Us (next to a Destroid Defender and the 35th Anniversary Messer), and was curious to see how quickly they would sell. Last week, I noticed they were still there gathering dust... next to the Destroid Defender and the 35th Anniversary Messer.
  2. If it ain't Kevin Conroy, it ain't Batman.
  3. Are any of the OAVs actually HD-remasters, or just shovelware like the TV episodes?
  4. No, what you said was true... from a certain point of view.
  5. I regret my poor choice of words. Clearly, "an anime thing" was entirely too vague and open to misinterpretation. I remember a time when powered armor was only seen in Japanese animation; specifically, between 1984 and 1993. During that decade, even Iron Man was only depicted in comic books. These memories -- like all memories -- are based on personal experience. It's kind of funny you would jump to that conclusion, and assume ignorance as a result... Funny, but not at all surprising.
  6. How could anyone possibly afford to...? Oh wait, it's Kicker773.
  7. And It frees you up to indulge your customizing fetish. I'm curious to see what liberties you take with the color scheme...

Thanks, beatsing. Love your avatar. Well, the Hi-Metal R toys closely match the depicted scale of the Regult in the animation, wherein it would be clearly impossible to fit a Battroid inside a Regult. And if you assume all Zentradi are relatively equal in height, then yes, the scale doesn't make sense... But remember, the Zentradi have the technology to radically alter their size at will, meaning average height is irrelevant; there's no reason to assume Regult (or Gnerl) pilots are anywhere near as large as the officers we see roaming freely around their ships. Even thirty years ago, this was received wisdom among Robotech RPG fans... yet, surprisingly enough, Macross fans still struggle with it to this day.
  10. 9 hours, at 1:72 scale... That's a DLP printer, then?

    Your statements contradict each other...
  12. Wow, proportions and detailing is all wrong. This is starting to look less like the GPB armor, and more like... an IDW Transformers design or something.
  13. Very impressive level of detail on that kit.
  14. As one so-called "expert" myself, you've forgotten a few stages of the process. Third-party manufacturers have sought my cooperation concerning: packaging design promotional text translation product photography retail distribution video reviews
  15. Well, Hideaki Anno, at least... But I don't consider it canon, any more than the soda pop and beer can missiles in DYRL.
  16. It's at the climax of SDFM episode 27, but I don't know if it's considered canon or not... ...since its markings read "Itano the Pervert."
  17. Yeah, it's an ugly and totally unnecessary redesign.

Oh, I love the restrooms in Macross Zero!
  19. He's one of the most high-end figures I own... The heft, the tolerances, the fit and finish are all top-notch. This is the Springer I've been waiting 33 years for. I appreciate the accuracy of the helicopter more, myself... although those tires roll really smooth in car mode. I can't imagine that... my figure has very tight ankles, and "Apache's" shoulders are clearly inferior.
  20. I tend to give Hasegawa the benefit of the doubt. Their 1:72 pilot scale seems consistent with other Macross merchandise... ...and their packaging demonstrates the proper use of a colon to denote scale (something a lot of people don't seem to understand).
