Well, the Dark Legioss passes the bare minimum required for an Evolution Toy: it cuts a heroic figure. But look closer, and problems are immediately apparent: See how that panel just hangs loose under the right arm? There's no enough tension to hold it up, and nothing to lock it in place where it belongs... ...and the wrist lacks the strength or the tension to hold the gun straight, too. The port wing has a properly-molded tab to lock the wings into the fuselage for Armo-Soldier mode, but the starboard wing has only a malformed stump. The right forearm, at least, fits fairly flush with the shoulder (as long as you don't tab the arm into the leg below it)... ...but the left forearm won't go in any further than this. And look at that glue residue on the shoulder! In fact, glue residue and grease are all over the toy... ...and the surface shows visible stress marks and oily fingerprints, even before transformation is attempted. It's a pain to deal with returns through Amazon.jp, but I can't accept this garbage. Yeah, that's about how I feel about the quality control. Mine's a total crap show. They're 1:60th. Note how well they display with Bandai, Yamato, and Arcadia figures at the same scale: I display them with the Toynami Alphas, and they scale really well together.

The Evolution Toy Dark Legioss has landed. It features all the design innovations and quality of construction we've come to expect from Evo Toys... Surprisingly, however, it comes with two pilot options. The smaller-scale Borough Superior figures are also a welcome addition to your collection*, despite their awkward poses and proportions. * Y'know, if you collect that sort of thing.

No HBT? No problem. MacrossWorld "straight shooter" @Vifam7 hooked me up with this massive 1:12 Panzer IV Ausf. D... ...but it cried out for paint, see. Now, it looks more like a tank to me. I just need to source 1:12 decals and tank accessories now... -
That's no diorama... It's a computer! Yeah, but that doesn't exactly answer his question... They're about 1:48 scale, by my reckoning. You see they're equal in size to Yamato's 1:48 scale VF-1 pilots (painted, left), only slightly smaller than generic 1:48 model diorama figures (center, white), and a little shorter than Plastic Cretin's 1:48 Mospeada soldiers (right, grey). Given average Asian stature, the realistic Japanese setting, and the typical proportions of Takada Akemi's character designs, "a little shorter than average" seems just about right.

It's a model kit. It's huge and expensive, it features no articulation, no paint, and the detailing is somewhat inconsistent... but the shelf presence is undeniable. -
Even stranger that they've screwed up the colors so badly on Boba Fett... The blue of the jumpsuit, the green of the armor, the orange of the shoulder and knee guards... all wrong. As the Boba Fett for the 501st Japanese Garrison, I'm ashamed of what Bandai is doing to our favorite bounty hunter.

Is that standing Zentradi soldier from Plastic Cretins as well? -
Sure is! It was the definitive YF-19 toy... until the Arcadia eclipsed it. And then the Bandai eclipsed the Arcadia. And now, it's just sort of quaint. With a pudgy little super-deformed pilot.

Well, not much money... ...but there isn't a Hi-Metal R alternative for the VF-25, and they display well with HMRs.

As long as they're in character, I'm all for it. I mean, Steve Rogers has been a shill for decades.

Other users have had success reaching out to Bandai directly... and since they're obviously aware of the problem, they may be willing to provide replacement parts.

She scales a little large, but she fits in the seat... I must say, Bandai did a much better job with the helmet this time around. And, since you suggested using Plastic Cretins Minmay as well: There's not enough leg room in the back, unless you cut off her feet... ...but you could always let her sit up front. My hat's off to you, sir. What's that creepy goo you're using for masking?

I can't help but think you overdid it just a little on that bird, Lolicon... Did it come with the rainbow canopy?
-
Looks more like an expression of disapproval to me... I'm honestly not sure what Bandai was thinking with that pose.

As if there were any doubt... Comparing shades of orange... Comparing pilots... ...and somebody mentioned comparing nosecones...?

Well, "Ore" was much better than the earlier short; predictable, unoriginal, and ridden with clichés, but an improvement nonetheless. The acting was more naturalistic, the lighting more evocative, and the setting felt very real this time. I'd recommend "Ore," certainly over "Night Shift." -

Got another 1:48 Stealth VF-1J -- with Super/Strike parts -- so I could display the FAST packs on my Low-Vis VF-1A... I might just have to give this one the "Lolicon" treatment. It's mostly WAVE Hangar parts, yes... although it's built around the vintage "Macross Factory" model kit, and also includes some Zoids diorama sections: ...and NOVA "Ubiquitous" panels (for the ceiling). -
Well, 30 seconds is about all I could take. There's nothing more annoying than watching disingenuous young actors pretending to be excited about something... ...and yet, 90% of Japanese TV is exactly that.
