  1. Got a ton of goodies in the last couple of days, an HLJ private warehouse shipment and another big box of love from amiami. I already got Badcube Speedbump, I assumed he would be my MP Trailbreaker, but MMC/Ocular Max Terraegis is awesome! I've seen some have issues with him, but my copy is mint and I think he looks phenomenal, I doubt an official Takara version could sway me, but I will give them a fair look when they announce their version. MonsterArts Godzilla is a bit disappointing, his paint is fairly meh, and he's got a loose leg, so loose he has a hard time holding up the weight of his 30lbs. tail. I've been aching to get my hands on the new Doom by Fantasy Flight games, I had the original version in college but sold it like a dipshit and pretty much immediately regretted it. New game is amazing, plays fast, it's fun, playing as Demon or Marine is a blast, highly recommended if you're looking for a great quickie tabletop game with beautiful mini figures. Figuarts are always nice, I even got Obi-Wan with a new hat! Missed out on D-Arts Charizard, very glad I didn't have to pay $250+ for one. I've got 7 Figuarts Hall of Armors on order, so I'm in need of some 1/12 or 6" Iron Man armors, plenty of suggestions from others in this thread are probably going to lead to many of my new armor acquisitions. I'm dying for my Chogokin Voltron, I'm waiting on BBTS to get the US Bluefin stock in. I'm baffled there's people having issues with it not being "toon accurate" enough. Apparently Bandai should have figured out a way to hide the red and green lion legs in bot mode to appease literally everyone. What they made works for me, looks gorgeous, and I can't remember a single transforming, combining Voltron/Golion that was able to hide the green and red legs in combined bot mode.
  2. Looks like Figuarts Doctor Strange is going up soon, web exclusive though, so he'll be easy enough to grab. http://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000110849/
  3. I'd chalk up the slightly off voice to him not having his breathing condition quite yet, years of that and I'm sure his voice would get much hazier and more rough.
  4. I'm pretty sure we got a hint of his breathing condition at the end of the second episode from Saturday. I remember reading a Rogue One companion book or something that said Saw's breathing condition came from being exposed to some kind of toxin or gas on Geonosis. I believe I remember Saw breathing pretty rough at the end of the second episode, I'm pretty sure the circular poison canisters that the Empire used to wipe out the Geonosians was what he caught a whiff of. As for legs and other injuries? We may see sometime in the future if he makes another appearance on Rebels, and if not, he gets into enough crazy stuff that I can imagine several ways he will end up getting further injuries. What I really liked about this two parter was how they had zero problem showing Saw as an honestly very unstable, and probably not really trust worthy solider in the Rebellion. I mean, taking a baby queen hostage at gun point? That's pretty crazy. So is his constant push, push, push attitude. Saw seems effective when necessary, but the guy also seems like a giant hazard/issue waiting to happen.
  5. Damnit Mafex... The sculpt looks good, so does the paint at a glance, but man, that's a lot of issues for a $200+ figure. Scratched up paint, loose arms, that's unfortunately pretty standard these days for Mafex, I thought they would've stepped their game up for such an expensive release but I guess not.
  6. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN17110&mode=retail https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/18045-soul-of-chogokin-gx-71-beast-king-golion.html This is probably the cheapest you'll find. BBTS price is the US retail price for the US Bluefin distributed version, NY is a marked up price for the Bandai Japan version. Same exact toy and contents, but the US version will come with an extra Voltron sleeve over the main box.

Yeah I got a little chuckle out of the people worrying about the pre-order for these guys. They're Destroids, there was no way they were going to sell out and have to cut off first night pre-orders. If Max's 1J was still readily available for pre-order the day after, there was zero reason to worry about Destroids.
  8. You throw away your boxes for high-end figures? What if you move? Or have to store the figure? I finally got my 10 day notice from BBTS for my Chogokin Voltron. I liked the HLJ price more, but when they were sending out payment requests I was broke, same figure for the US release, plus an extra Voltron sleave works for me, I'm a Voltron fan not Golion anyway.
  9. My god this guy looks absurdly gorgeous! This is the MP Jazz I've been waiting on! And there's a chance I'll get him in hand before my birthday, oh boy! That is perfection, don't even bother Takara!
  10. Despotron? What about Mightron! That's my current MP Megs, and he fits the bill very well. Despotron did the legs better, but there were too many other things that made me go meh with him. Takara Megs 2.0 looks like an expensive, far too toon accurate mess. He's not even silver, I mean I get that he was grey in the carton and that's the new direction, but it just doesn't look like a premium color or paint job for such an absurd asking price. I'm waiting for Takara's inevitable reveal of Hoist and Trailbreaker. I want to see how they pull off the transformation, but I have zero reason to believe the aesthetics they will go with will be anything I will want to add to my collection.

Yeah I wasn't expecting any kind of pre-order madness for these, got 3 at amiami without issue, they're Destroids, I picture them still being up for pre-order at most places tomorrow too. And with that I'm out, zero interest in nasty Delta stuff :).
  12. Lol I was playing on the host's inability to see things that may hurt and/or confuse them.
  13. Yeah I totally forgot about Westworld somehow, even though I watched every episode the second it aired and I went out of my way to ensure I'd be home every Sunday night to watch the newest episode. Brilliant stuff, really expanded on what the original film only got to touch on, great performances, and I love that by the end of the season everything made sense, nothing ambiguous, and nothing drug on. The finale? It didn't look like anything to me...
  14. VIKINGS! It's amazing! Is anyone else watching this? The last episode was phenomenal, there are some brilliant performances on this show. Yes at first the hook was high-budgeted Viking violence, but then it turned out to have a great script, excellent actors, and amazing performances! If a show can have a gripping scene involving two men simply having a chat and arguing about the Gods while drunk, you know it's really good stuff.
  15. Oh good god, this looks awesome!
  16. Yeah as Dobber already pointed out, Saw hasn't appeared on Rebels YET, he will appear when the new season starts back up though, since Rebels is still before Rogue One. Saw appeared in the final season of Clone Wars, in a really excellent four episode story arc.
  17. FansToys Skyfire/Jetfire isn't out yet, he's been on pre-order for months though. The crappy one currently out is by Mechaform, it is called Sky Guardian, it is not just bad, but apparently hot garbage that isn't worth anywhere near it's asking price. edit: Also wanted to add, after even more flip flopping, I got an Ocular Max/MMC Terraegis delivered two day right before Christmas Eve and he's pretty damn amazing. I got the Badcube version a while back and I was stoked with him at first, I even kept updating this thread with all the bad news about Terraegis, but I've gotta say, I think I like Terraegis far more then Speedbump. Speedbump looks excellent in both modes, but getting him there sucks more than gay Dracula. Also, his cannons are stupid, his leg paint was a bit scratched out of the box, and he has really, really dumb hands. Terraegis may not have the completely accurate alt mode or silver paint, but I think overall he's easier to handle, he has the better proportioned and accurate bot mode, and he does Trailbreaker's accessories right. I honestly can't recommend him enough, he's beautiful, and if you are into the G1 toy thing he's a better choice then Speedbump, he comes with that super ugly G1 toy head, but once again, if that's your thing there you go. I also got the Liger/G1 toy head for Spinhx/Mirage as well, no use in that, might see if someone wants it for their Sphinx. I'm on the fence about Hoist, I REALLY don't want to deal with another awful Badcube transformation, I never handled their Warpath but I think Speedbump is far worse and more fiddly then Sunsurge. Artifex by MMC looks good, and I now love this mold. I'll probably go with Artifex, he looks good, he's shorter then Trailbreaker like he should be, less under-car kibble then the Badcube version, and that neat little collapsing hood mechanic should give him a more beefy appearance then my Terraegis.
  18. More woes and dread for MMC Ocular Max Terraegis/Trailbreaker. More people are getting the final product in hand and reviews are mixed to say the least, with a number of people reporting awful quality plastic and multiple breaks already. Paper thin plastic for the side mirrors, the replacement mirrors are the same thing so no help there, no rubber set of mirrors or anything else. Swivel panel in the legs is thin and feels cheap, stress marks after one transformation. And unfortunately, many are reporting very noticeable two tones of black throughout their figures. I was tempted to grab one yesterday since BBTS got their stock in, I've already got Speedbump and he is sexy as all hell, but this guy looked good too! Now though, absolutely no way, this is pretty piss poor quality for the price point. The odd paint was a turn off enough, but now this is sounding like a delicate mess. Very unfortunate, I absolutely LOVE my Sphinx, easily one of the nicest third party figures I've ever handled, I've always considered it what third party is truly capable of, and a spot where third party outshines TT, I really don't think they could make an MP Mirage that would rival Sphinx in any way. I know a lot of people were turned off by Backdraft, I love mine and I think he's fine, but after this MMC/Ocular Max really needs to step it up, they're turning fans off left and right. I'm still wanting to see more in hand reviews of the final product, but this is a pretty bad sign, early reviews like this are make it or break it for a lot of people, especially when there's multiple options available.
  19. This is the only question that matters, metallic paint is nasty looking sure, but if it doesn't actually transform I can just make this an easy pass now without needing more pics or info.
  20. Nice. Mine won't be on the way until my three ANIME RGM-79s drop at AmiAmi as well, I'm really looking forward to them. Also, what's up with HLJs listing for Figuarts Chewie? It says December release, that's not right is it? It's been listed at that for quite a while too.
  21. I'd say a definite yes, Gundam Wing first aired on Toonami and was most US viewer's first foray into the world of Gundam. Why Heero and Relena with all that nasty Seed mecha? Where's the Wing mecha?
  22. See now I've read that while Peaugh apparently did get to handle one, he didn't have instructions and it was brief. I also read nobody from MT was standing by to give him direction or instructions. Either way for me he's bought on site, the back end looking a bit off isn't enough of a deterrent for me, this IS Jazz.
  23. From what I've read on TFW2005, that is indeed mis-transformed. Oh boy! This is DEFINITELY my Jazz, ordered on site, no need to even make an attempt Takara.
  24. Why/how did Optimus leave Earth? In the last one wasn't he just standing there monologuing to himself in front of a sunset (just like the end of every TF film) with the Dinobots standing by him? Are the Dinobots still a thing? Wouldn't they be like, the most powerful Autobots to call on when you need help? Shouldn't they always call on them? Is Galvatron Megatron again? Did he only get labeled that by humans in the last film? Will Megatron, or Galvatron or whatever, and other Cons still do that floating pixel transformation thing from the last film? Why can't Bumblebee talk? Will he not make a peep other then stupid kiddy and radio noises in his supposed solo film? I know, far too many questions, and probably few answers if any for any of them, but still. I have such a hard time remembering what happened in what films, the sequels all blend together, and they've re-designed most of the bots several times over that it makes it really hard to grasp what events happened in what film. Was Chicago the second one? Was Hong Kong the last one? Which one had Devestator and his big balls that he had despite none of the vehicles that combine into him having any wrecking balls on them? Yes, they made a point to bring up Romeo and Juliet laws or something idiotic, it had zero plot relevance and yes, pretty much explained why a 16 or 17 year old girl can get plowed by a 20 year old dude with zero legal consequences.
  25. Can't even make out the Mastodon or Triceratops, oh well.
