Damn, Nebs looks good! I'm glad I grabbed her. Now I just need NY to get off their asses and ship mine, prep in progress for 6 days, again! They did this with Yoda too, almost two weeks just to ship, NY has been dragging their asses lately, more then usual which is crazy.

Great shots, but Tyler Hoechlin looks tiny next to Routh and Welling :). Oh well, I'll still love it and he's still a pretty fantastic Supes and Clark. Question: Which Supermen are in this? Answer: All of them. Except Cavill and Dean Cain I guess.

I considered getting a third Sith Trooper, then tracking down a gold necklace to make my own, just for fun, but my OCD won't allow it, Hip-hop Stormie was original trilogy, not sequel trilogy. VERY close though, I'm sure before release I'll add a third to keep sealed for just in case, sequel trilogy Hip-hop Trooper can be a thing too.

Yeah Rey looks a bit meh, I'm in for just two Sith Troopers, and my wallet is appreciative. I already bought Last Jedi Rey, and I have both of the previous Kylo figures, for reasons I can't remember myself, so it's a pass on those two, but yeah, those red Sith Troopers sure do look purdy. I may go in on several of those snazzy Tamashii Stages though, I'm a sucker for a nice custom Tamashii Stage.

And yet there's no word of Jessica De Gouw, the CW-Arrowverse's actual Huntress returning? WTF? Why did she NEVER return? She even appeared in some of the .5 between season comics.

This Roy VF-4 is a pass for me, this scheme just isn't doing it for me. That said, it's good to see a new release, but I'd be far more interested in M&M VF-4s.

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread

FansToys don't look anymore animation accurate to me, they just look bigger, and are more expensive. IF I wanted an MP Menasor, which I don't, I'd go X-Transbots, they look just as animation accurate, more-so in some cases, and I like the bot mode scale far more, FansToys are way, way, way too big in bot mode.- 9275 replies

Gotham ended with a full shot of their Batman, it didn't look great, but it was full on Batman, no shadows or other nonsense hiding him. That said, this was Gotham, like Smallville, there was zero chance it wasn't going to end with a little taste of their take on the character, but that's it, just a taste. I just think Warner is stupid when it comes to the Batman property for film and TV, like, for some reason, that's still the ONE character they refuse to have multiple live action versions of, even alternate universe versions. I think it's because they know Batman is their most popular character, but again, to me, that's just a sign he should be everywhere he can be, Batman sells whether people are tired of him or not. This odd mentality of having him only on the big screen is once again, odd. As I mentioned above it appears WB is still dead set on NO Batman, or Batmen period, in live action outside film. It's stupid, even alternate universe versions seem out of the question for whatever reason. Three versions of Superman, still not a single take on Batman.

It was indeed, I'm ready for another season, also.
-
Yeah Kevin Conroy himself is set to play an older Bruce Wayne, Bruce Wayne though, not Batman, CW still isn't allowed to have a Batman in costume, for whatever idiotic reason. Multiple seasons of multiple shows and we still haven't had a damn CW Batman, it's insane the lengths Warner will go to to prevent having another live action Batman. But Superman? We can have three of him apparently, even one who was a former film Superman. This dancing around Batman CW is still doing is maddening. Who gives a crap? Batman is whored out in basically every other form of media DC puts out, why not CW's shows?

Dark Crystal age of resistance on Netflix
Tking22 replied to Bolt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's plenty, plenty, plenty of time between where the series ends, and the original film begins. What about Deet's story and her darkening infection? What about the Garthim War? How do the Skeks get the Crystal "working" again like normal so to speak, by the time the film starts? What happens to Rian? How do the entirety of the Gelfing people fall after uniting? I feel there's more then enough story for at least several more seasons. Yes. Or, work within that timeline on something new and interesting, like the first season. Flip expectations, make a story for the season people think is shallow, and they know, then surprise them like this first season, which was more then just a lead up to the creation of the Garthim. Knowing how it all ends was already a criticism lobbed at the first season, if it didn't apply there, I don't see how it would apply to further seasons. Also, the big mcguffin, the crystal shard, just popped up at the end, there's zero chance that doesn't have another little adventure before landing where it should be for the start of the film. Either way, Henson studios already revealed they have content and ideas for a second season, and are ready for it, it all depends on Netflix and how well the first season's viewership was.- 88 replies

That's MS-01X by Magic Square, not MP-44 :). -
I missed the PO on PS4 Spidey Advanced Suit so I just went ahead and slightly, slightly overpaid for one off Ebay, will have it soon, looks good in hand. I loved the game to death, phenomenal, one of the best superhero games made, I wasn't too hot on the Insomniac "White Spider" suit at first, but as I played and got a couple of hours in it grew on me, I love the look.

Are you going to pick up MP Soundwave? I recommend him, and if you can, get the Hasbro or Hasbro Asia version, you'll get all the tape bots in one package. That said, I almost guarantee there will be a + version announced at some point in the near future, I don't know if a more cartoon accurate color scheme is of interest to you, but yeah, that's definitely going to happen at some point.- 17112 replies

I think it looks better then the red and purple, it's grown on me a ton, it looks fantastic, very clean. Also, I'm a fan of the sleeveless look, always have been. I may honestly cancel my red and purple Mags, I really don't want/need two, and I now like the look of this one a lot more.
-
I always loved the white too, and this things looks pretty damn good, it's a purchase for me. I've been reading House of X recently, which is frakking amazing, and this is sort of House of X Magneto-ish, so I dig that too. Honestly, I just wanted to mention House of X, it's great, and I haven't enjoyed an X-Men comic like this in a looong while.

I mean you're definitely right, it was a brick basically, I just expected more from a modern SoC. Again, I feel Voltron spoiled me, five bots that combine, less original transformation due to repetition yes, but when combined he can get pretty dynamic. Bandai really went all out on Voltron, I feel they did the minimum for Dino Megazord/Daizyujin, knees, elbows, some rotation here and there. Also, accessories were sparse for my taste, some sword effects would be cool, a nice little display too. I'd still recommend it, it's a cool toy, I feel it just wasn't as bang for your buck as previous releases, I've seen it on sale and would recommend it at sale price, not retail.

Maybe slightly exaggerated, slightly, but I wouldn't say massively, the articulation was massively disappointing IMO. Being roughly the same design as the 93 zord/mystical beast, the T-Rex tail still hampers what would've been superior leg articulation. The arms have a bit more movement, not much, no double jointed elbows. The waste swivel only really works if you disengage the pterodactyl, which then breaks up the look. The knees kind of bend, but then that bend is nearly useless because the legs can't move forward due to the pterodactyl. The individual dinos are great, and that's how I have them. I passed, easily, on the Dragonzord and Titanus due to them looking like overpriced Legacy MMPR zords. I have my Legacy Dino Zord combined and the SoC separated into their dino forms. Your mileage may vary, I nearly sold mine several times off due to the disappointments with it, and I'm a massive, massive MMPR fan, and a nineties child that wanted nothing more then this to be the best SoC ever, and it wasn't, not even close.

Not to derail further but Zeta has already put out several Masterpiece scaled combiners that were pretty damn fantastic, and larger, and at least as complex as their Core Star/Unicron. There's also the confirmation that they were or were affiliated with Toyworld, which put out an incredible MP scale Devastator. Not perfect, but pretty amazing through and through, with amazing combined modes that were incredibly stable, wonderfully articulated, and built like bricks with little issue when combined. Why hope for that? I just want Hasbro's to release or get cancelled so they can get over their huff about a fantastic looking 3P Unicron, I just want my superior looking Zeta figure, I have zero intention of bothering with Hasbro's effort. This. Aesthetically, Zeta's looked superior to Hasbro's effort, not as big, and maybe not as nice a planet mode, but incredible nonetheless, and certainly better looking in my eyes. -
I like mine okay, but it was still quite disappointing. It's too expensive for what you get. The articulation is quite limited, and there's a number of odd, and straight up dumb design choices. You'd think being in the SoC line you'd get better articulation then the old 93 figure, but nope, about the same, but much heavier, premium paint, and far more expensive. I think this made SoC Megazord even more disappointing, it followed the incredible Voltron release, expectations were high, and I feel they were not met for the asking price.

Such a damn shame we probably won't be seeing Zeta Core Star for a while now, that thing looked incredible. I was never going to bother with the Hasbro one, I don't have the money or space, and I don't want or need a Unicron that big. Zeta's was also FAR more aesthetically pleasing, the size was just right, and the transformation actually looked pretty fun. I am in no way shape or form a Unicron aficionado, I don't need a Unicron that is perfectly accurate in any mode, bot or planet, to any particular source, as long as it was a large Unicron looking figure that turned into a planet, I was in. Neither Unicron was ever going to scale well with anything, I just wanted it in the same way most of us Macross fans want a nice SDF-1 figure, it was just an iconic character that I wanted a nice looking, transformable figure of, scale be damned.- 9275 replies

Thanks guys. I guess I'll wait on my purchases for now, that color is quite a ways off what Hi-Metal R did for their DYRL colors. My memory is pretty bad, I had that Roy release and all three 1As and I couldn't remember the color at all, and I never took photos for some reason.
-
It's certainly not that different, but it is a new mold. The MKV is the one Bandai probably won't bother with, it wasn't in a film and it does look basically identical to the MKIV. Also, that's a big ol diaper on MKVI :).
