  1. Each post is more stunning than the previous! Are you planning to improvethe hip articulation too? I remember that build on Yamato's blog that use a custom Wave ball joint I think which could slide out of the hip part much like the Hi-Metal VF-1 to allow more poses. Also have you considered plastic coloring using with Rit dye and acetone if you go for the black heatshield? Maybe you could try it with a piece of sprue in order to get the right amount of acetone for the dye to stick
  2. I had an order for the RVF at hobbyfan as well back when they opened, but after that I checked on their site and noticed that they usually ask for a payment at preorder on every valk item they had be it Bandai's DX or Yamato. Seeing they didn't set up any upfront payment on the RVF I was quite sure they wouldn't deliver on this item. I have a feeling that Hobbyfan knew that from the moment their preorder page was opened. On the other hand I have a feeling that Otacute will still come through, they are in the process of closing so it makes sense that their processing of the orders is slower than it used to be.
  3. Totally agree on the knee swivel, and the ugly big head. I'll throw in the towel on this, it's just too far off the mark of my current expectations for a vf-1 thanks to Yamato and even Bandai's own Hi metal version. There are still some really cool features on this kit though, I love the integrated articulated hands and the added ankle flap is an interesting feature. Disappointed at you, Bandai...
  4. Your stickering/weathering job is taking this toy to another level of coolness, MJ, really awe-inspinring. The sideview of the super-packed fighter is really cool and a testament to Yamato's engineering genious
  5. 30+ years apart, yet both rock hard in their own way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyLvUFrpSNk
  6. It looks like a nightmare and there's Sandra Bullock in it! It could be a good flick though, I just hope there's a lot more to it than the trailer showed
  7. AE is up, go now guys! http://www.anime-export.com/product/14058
  8. They ship certain items, but sadly toys are not comprised in that list
  9. Amazing work! I'm really looking forward to your progress on this
  10. How could have missed that! All these are amazing!!
  11. Welcome to the boards! That's a very cool looking rendition of Focker's ride. Have you tried adding on the skull heatshield? It would definitely improve your already great looking version
  12. lol, indeed, you'll need a good lens too! These pictures are fantastic MacrossJunkie, pure eyecandy and your weathering work on the valks and the SDF-1 is amazing Do you have a gallery where all these are visible together somewhere? It'd make a wonderful slideshow
  13. It's still in stock here if you're looking for it. I've never used this shop myself though, but they seem to be OK : http://www.nin-nin-game.com/macross-f-serie-fr/4051-macross-f-dx-chogokin-vf-25g-messiah-valkyrie-mikhail-blanc-renewal-ver-fr.html
  14. The VF-1battroid valks is definitely taller than the tomahawk, but I think it has already been mentioned that the hi-metal wasn't really 1/100 but a little bigger (around 1/90 I believe, you should check that fact on anymoon.com though)
  15. Thanks to you pikashoo, I got an order in while it lasted
  16. LOL I guess Gipsy Danger was probably made in China I'm even more looking forward to this movie now, not for the mecha designs which look random generic but for the monsters and because Del Toro movies have never failed at entertaining me so far
  17. Definitely not famine since he's the fatty of the team
  18. Nice fighter but I'm ot too thrilled by the battroid's head. I'll wait for the inevitable 1/48 PG style version
  19. Indeed, that's the point. I was a bit let down by the QC on this one...
  20. When I unpacked my VF-19P I didn't even notice it was missing an intake cover, the white scheme was too gorgeous and had all my attention I guess There'll be no more customer support for these toys now anyway, and the japanese based fans are in the same boat as us this time.
  21. If the absence of katanas fights, giant monsters or crazed yakuzas aren't a turnoff for you I suggest Departures : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1069238/
  22. I'd love to know how you can remove the intakes as I will have to recast one to fix my 19P at some point. Mine came with a missing intake and a loose hip joint, the one that pivots the leg outwards. I tried taking apart the hip which isn't really difficult only to find out that the screw wasn't put in the screwhole in the proper axis which is what ruined it. Probably someone at the factory tried to fix it for me, made it worse and adding hurt to injury forgot to put the intake back on... So I'm left with a wounded bird which looks really cool btw, from some angles.
  23. It's basically the same toy with a different head and paint, so there's no difference in the transformation process. You should watch some transformation videos on Youtube, they're helpful when unfamiliar with a valkyrie toy. I just received a VF-17D and it's a great toy , the hips and ankles were a little loose on my S but it seems finely tuned on this one, let's hope it stays this way I do like the head design of the D but overall I still prefer the S, maybe because the scheme is more striking with the yellow stripes and the white head parts
  24. No difference at all, just the absence of the super parts and clear stand. The box size wasn't reduced from the original size either Comparing my two samples of old and new, the renewal feels a little tighter but that was owed to the luck of the draw
  25. I got to watch the short series Kurage Hime recently and it is filled with great moments of comedy I've also seen "Brave Story" which is an EPIC anime. At the beginning I thought it moved slowly and felt quite generic but when it suddenly takes off it keeps getting better and better to a breathtaking finale. and I also watched Summer Wars which was 7 kinds of awesome, now I need to see Hosoda's previous movie "The girl who lept through time"
