I'm tempted to get that SDF-1 Kit (even though I don't care for the DYRL version) just because it's only $150.

How come all of those Ace Combat Master File renders look so much better than the Macross one's do? Also, the pics are bright enough you can actually make out detail!

So it's just like life. You make a bunch of decisions that amount to nothing when you die. Harsh dose of reality if you ask me.

Call me an old stick in the mud but I've always preferred my electronic music to be slower, smoother more melodic and funky. None of this harsh or high BPM stuff.

I realize complaining about something on the VF-2SS being derivative of the original Macross is at the very least highly ironic but I don't think the armor should have dual guns that look EXACTLY like the strike cannons from DYRL. At the very least keep them similar to the SAP pack's cannon. While all of the Mechs in Macross 2 were derivative they still maintained their own style... those cannons (even the blocky armor) blatantly reuse original Macross style which I don't think serves the MacII Valks style.

The Valk comes from a show that debuted back in the early 90's and has far less exposure/marketing then the 171.

Based on that photo on the previous page it looks like the nose is curved up a little bit. Looks like Yamato is ironing out the details. That should help fighter mode for all of you fans out there.

The experten one was over-engineered retardation. Even still that VF-4 transformation is funky and even the Yamato one looks like a streamlined, but still complex, version.

I'm sure they can paint it, but like the wing/giant skull on the 25S, is it going to wind up rubbing of if you bend that hinge too far?

I believe the Fast Packs are being released separately in the Fall. I highly doubt they would come with the D. As far as the legs go, I personally didn't have any problems transforming the thing back from Battroid to Fighter but I also tend to be very meticulous when transforming my toys.

One thing I noticed on my Milia which I hadn't considered before. If you bend the knee too deeply in Gerwalk you can also scrape the white paint off at the knees. I found a few spots missing on her legs. luckily my Max has not suffered the same fate.

There's a code? There is one caveat to that though, I like to display my Valks in each of the various forms. So that means for any one release that's three you need for F/G/B modes. it gets even more complicated if they've got Fast Packs/armor/etc... The VF1's are easy, there's so many variants you just by one of each and you're bound to have every possible combination. When there's the potential that only Alto's 171 will be made now people have to decide how many they want in order to display it in the various modes... plus there's the EX Armor yet to released as well.

And yet their toys aren't made in the same quantity and don't generally sell as well. So starring in a video game didn't do anything for them. Or being at the helm of a capital ship. In addition, Max twice defeated the best pilot in the fleet, got her to fall in love with him and they were the first inter-species couple to marry and have a kid, which was put on display to freak out their enemies. The story may have been about other people but they were more then just supporting.

I don't know how I'm just seeing this now but your paint scheme using the modern Thunderbirds is almost exactly like the design I was thinking about using to customize one of my Yammies.

You answered your own question. They don't translate the transformation as well. And the attempt to do that, and do it well, led to a toy that was almost as much as the 1/60 which was already available and contained more gimmicks without all of the extra part swapping.

That's one of the weird things between our two countries, and especially a bummer because the show cannot be exported to other countries. The tastes of the Japanese are what's catered to and for whatever reason they never latched on to Max like Americans did. Unfortunately that means our favorites aren't necessarily represented because we don't matter.

It's not nerd rage. There are plenty of plausible ways to introduce her, but the whole cloaked dark figure taking an action-hero pose with two zombies chained to her just looked stupid and out of place and did not feel like it was natural at all to the rest of the show. It felt like they purposely jammed a comic book frame in there... which is what they did.

That's a cop-out argument. No other person/human in the show so far has come off like they were super-human or otherworldly. The introduction of Michonne with the zombies on chains does not keep in context with the rest of the show tonally or visually up to this point. Based on the first two seasons she's out of context... and that's a problem.
