Huh, there may not be any landing gear access with the armor on at all. I'm glad I have a second one I can slap these parts on but that thigh piece looks like it's going to be a pain in the ass to keep on during transformation/posing. Also, with the way those things clip on I'm willing to bet some paint is going to disappear.

I'm not going to hem and haw but I believe Chronocidal is right that it would be lazy not to fix it. It's also still possible they're tweaking things and haven't gotten to it yet? Remember the nose didn't used to have any curvature and they've now fixed that. The feet were old VF-1 looking feet until just recently they've changed shape/function (though they don't recess to some people's preferences... yet.) it's possible they're still working up/tweaking the placement for other things and won't bother until the end. Getting the transformation to function is the #1 priority. I'm sure fin configuration is at the end of a very long list.

This poll still isn't really accurate. This poll asked how many would I buy, not how many I'm actually going to. I would buy three. I like to leave one in each of the three modes. Realistically based on price and the time of year they're releasing I'm only getting one.

How well are those wing pivots going to hold? Are they just relying on friction?

What do you mean by "poor" master of macross? It kinda seemed like you were praising the VF17 over the 171, then you used the term poor which is the opposite? Do you mean that it's a cleaner look because it doesn't have so many colors/tampo all over it?

That scheme doesn't look too boring right there. Hopefully they'll include a lot of Tampo as well.

Actually the reason why a lot of us resist so many of the policies you EU guys implement is because we know precisely how much more expensive things will become as a result. That's neither here nor there. It sucks you can't buy these things because they're so expensive.

Out of few schemes we've seen the VF-4 in Hikaru's is definitely the most attractive. However, I'm not offended by the VF-X one and will be extremely happy to add it to my collection. I do like to have varying schemes if I can help it.

You're in luck, it's pretty fun to swoosh around in fighter mode anyway so you can play around with it like that in the mean time.

How does shutting down the website portion of the company affect the rest of the publication business? There's no mention of any other department having layoffs but there is mention the publication side will continue.

In my completely uninformed opinion, what is taking these guys so long? In other news I wonder what the odds are they'll make books for some of the more "obscure" Valks. They've already got models/art assets for the VF-4, 11, 17 and 171 based on the other four books already released.

He already went over this, even if they're white you'll still have to paint them. They don't match.

I was thinking more for those of us with lesser modeling abilities that it might be easy to make that part either too large or too small (with the sanding/painting) to keep the intakes fitting together correct. Though it is semi-exposed in Battroid, the wings cover it for the most part.

Wow, so that entire hip has to be replaced huh? The fact that nub on top assists with holding fighter/gerwalk together kinda concerns me if there's going to be any need to sand/paint/whatever.

It has some articulation issues in Battroid I feel keeps it from being "flawless."

It's actually easier to adjust them if you just take the shoulder covers off. They pop right on and off. I was looking over mine last night trying to figure out just where the armor parts are going to fit on. This is going to be an even bigger bitch to transform with that crap attached. Hopefully they'll stay attached as well.

I've had customs occasionally take FOREVER with a package once or twice before. Usually it's a few hours. But sometimes I think they misplace/forget something and it sits.

I watched it, I transformed it the same way as the video. I got a face full of chest panel.

It shipped July 5th, arrived the beginning of this past week. I had zero problems with them. I guess I got lucky?

It's not even that it's ugly, which I feel it is too, but it isn't at all a VF-1S scheme. The 1S had BLACK, not grey. And adding some yellow stripes doesn't make it anywhere near being a 1S. It's just a gaudy, quick repaint.

Good Lord. I just tried transforming my second 171 tonight. Putting this thing back into Gerwalk/Fighter has been a colossal bitch. Pressing the chest piece back down has been insane on this thing. It's like the two diecast bars are ever so slightly too far away from the center and every time I close the chest piece all the way the two little covers that flip out for Battroid will literally fly across the room. I got hit in the face by flying covers more than once. I did not have this problem with the first 171. This second one has MUCH better hold on the wings though. Tighter hinges on the back too. Interesting how different each of these can be.
