  1. Not a bad price on that one. Went to SF yesterday. Amazingly, Kinokuniya still had the May and June Hobby Japan. I only had enough for one, and they had three of the June. So I actually got the little Black/white bunny figure I'd forgotten about. Though 25 bucks is a touch hard to swallow. Still, I like her. It's small, and painted just adequately, but the setup makes up for it. It is nice for a promo figure. http://myfigurecollection.net/item/64692_macross_frontier_sheryl_nome_hobby_japan_kaiyodo
  2. That's what I did. I missed the last one since we'd just got back from SF. I tried snagging the encore, but it kept booting me. Seems this one was more packed than the first (I'm guessing word of mouth). I think that was related to the guard training I read about. I totally missed that since i just caught this event.
  3. Heh, it keeps crashing when I try to go to the plaza. Macross fans crushed the server.
  4. Ahh. They served their purpose. My PS3 was offline for a year until a month ago. Just found out they were doing the concert today. Didn't know about the month long event (my Japan account didn't let me in until after the Welcome Back stuff was done, I'm assuming because I couldn't accept the TOS). Sheryl Encore? Please? No Sheryl encore. Ai-kun Swag!!! Very Ranka-centric concert. To bed. See you guys at one of the next ones!
  5. She does. Though there was a syncing issue with her earlier. For PSP models, they look pretty good. Not like I would expect new ones just for this. Not a bad freeby. Shame they weren't live recordings. Now they seem to have a fan list running. I guess for those that bought the stuff. Nice touch. I can't buy anything on this account. I wanted that Macross!!! Yup, finite. Ranka Encore!!!
  6. I actually think the models work well. Looks a bit better than the cel shaded one in Nyanx2. The whole things like the first film. Which makes it odd that it features nothing from "Universal bunny". Loved the Vajra attack. Shame the interstitials aren't voiced.
  7. Sorry you didn't make it in, MACROSS84IRL. There's a few more shows, and I'm going to try to record a later one onto tape. Still wish I'd caught all this sooner. Would've been nice to "join" the Northern Cross or Ranka guards.
  8. Break over, Vajra inbound. There's a schedule on the site. Next is Northern Cross followed by Anata no Oto.
  9. You might have missed the instance. Congrats on de-lurking. Impressive setup
  10. Sweet Eve, though I too would've preferred a Part 1 look. 3 isn't nearly as bad as people say. I trust that top one isn't a spoiler. ^_- Stupid assumption these toy makers have that everyone's seen it. ;;
  11. Looks like Home crashed. Hopefully I can get back in, as I should be in bed, and would hate to have been up two more hours for nothing. GOT IT! Feel free to add me, those in attendance.
  12. Decided to check my Japanese account just now, and saw an ad for it. I'm in the concert hall now, waiting for it to load, assuming it's not a time sensitive thing. Though looking at the ANN details, I'm probably waiting for ads. Whatever it is, it's taking its sweet time. I'll try to catch it on the repeat viewings. (Actuallynoted it stars in an hour. Typical this would be on a night when I should be asleep). My PSN has been up for a month, and I just now check the Japanese account (wasn't working earlier). Judging from the machine page translation and just missed the "guard" swag. Anyone get any freebies? My Japan PSN account is TifaOnACloud.
  13. Well then give it a good show at least. Post progress pics if it makes things more interesting. I'd like to see what it looks like.
  14. In regards to Hi-Nu vs. Nu, I greatly prefer Nu design wise. Nu is one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite, and that's due to design not being overly flashy. Nu just plain looks like a machine of war, whereas Hi-Nu looks more like the hotrods of Seed that I loath so much. Maybe it's the paint scheme... If you don't want her Pete, send her my way. I've been wanting to add it to my collection.
  15. Realized I never uploaded any pics from the Gunpla competition at Fanime. My RXF-91 did participate, and the judge really appreciated seeing the older kit despite it's flaws. Speaking of which, it was interesting, if a little expected to hear how my kits were marked down. It's a point of frustration to hear me getting smoked partly on simply not owning an airbrush. Though this was to be expected, and I knew they'd get marked down on that (for "uneven paint") and some missing parts. Though i do think it's a touch unfair, and should be considered. Seams are my other big issue, and he says they mark down a lot on that, and would even give bonus points if done on older, more problematic kits. G-3 won best Out Of the Box. I would've expected Mk-II, but I'm guessing the missing thruster had a hand in that. I saw him talking about it while putting up the awards in front of G-3. Couldn't make it out, but I already know I won by default. ;; He did explain that they liked my take on the G-3 scheme. Like I explained to him, none of these were built with competition in mine, and each is a learning experience, RXF-91 being only my second fully painted mecha. He seemed to accept that. I got this Jegan as a prize for winning OOB. http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN969491 I'm not one for grunts and it's my first HG, but it should prove useful practice for seam removal. RXF-91. Missing some fingers and part of the horn. Thankfully, I found the missing beam saber hilts and fixed the main horn in time. She is rather sloppy looking compared to the others. G-3, a 1.0 MG. I find it amusing that he mentioned the pose being deficient, while acknowledging that that's due to it being an old kit. Kind of sad to be knocked for something they know is a fact. I had the shield signed by Furuya, in possibly the most impersonal autograph session I'd ever been to. MkII, in her original pose. She got knocked over when someone bumped the glass. In the end, it went about how I expected, and aside from the needless waiting around during judging (when he didn't even ask any question and it was obvious I could show up later, like the others did), it was a neat experience. Frankly, just having them on display for three days at the con for all to see and photograph was kind of a cool feeling.
  16. How's the Dorothy? I'm looking to pick her up at AmiAmi for my dad's birthday. Amusingly, it'll be the first figma I buy, and it's not for me.
  17. Definitely looking to pick that up. Though I've never gotten to play 2 online. Anyone want to trophy run? I'm finally back online to do so.
  18. That is the most ridiculously awesome sounding thing I've heard in this series.
  19. If I was in SoCal, I'd give it a go. Though mine just limped through Fanime's Gunpla Contest. Won OOB, but it's probably by default.
  20. Just got back from Fanime. The swap meet and dealers hall were driving me nuts, and I kept passing up relatively good deals. There was one seller with the IK Bunnies, the mini figures for 5 bucks each (still wondering why I didn't get around to getting any). She wanted 70 for the Black Bunnie and offered two of the mini figures with it (WB was 60). Unfortunately, I hadn't seen the dealers hall (which turned out to be way overpriced in everything I wanted [Lucky Star Macross for 50 each with the Miyuki a whopping 100]) and that would've been probably my only major purchase; I don't impulse buy. Didn't help that she downplayed how nice it was versus price. By the time I came back to possible deal, she had left and wasn't coming to the next meet. Funny thing is, I kept running into her, and even got an email to make a deal, but no way to send it. So I let Black Bunny slip away. Hopefully, I didn't screw up too harshly though there were others I passed up. Wound up mostly getting artist ally things. In retrospect though, I'm still wondering more why I didn't get the little figures. She had them all. I did get the last two of the Minmay set I needed for 4 bucks. The real steal was the Black and White Bunny for $12!! I wavered on it's initial $20, but it didn't sell. I got to see it out of the box, offered 10, he countered 12. I have no clue what the dealers hall would've sold her for, but I know it's not that cheap. In counter to Lolicon, I must say, I actually really like this one. It looks A LOT better than the promo pics, and I think I like the face better than the source art. I think she looks quite fearful, and it has personality. It's no Megahouse, but for a prize figure, it's pretty nice and works well from different angles.
  21. Thanks for the update, Lolicon! I may have to keep an eye out for those Rankas at Fanime. They look great for cheapos, and I could use some nice Rankas. As for the Sheryl, I remember the source art looking rather odd as well.
  22. The blue does it too. It's one of the minor issues with it. The other being the potential for pant scuffs. Such is the fate of cast-offs. Great Sheryl collection. I used to build mini shines as well (I still have a general Asuka one), but I mostly put the figures where I can fit them. On another note, are there really THAT MANY Sheryl's out there? I know a lot are repaints, and I don't really keep track of gashipons, but geez. Nice CC's as well. I've got about half of those. Where'd the brunette one come from?
  23. Funny thing is, I just started displaying my blue one like that as I got tired of the full dress (which i greatly prefer to the castoff). Though it's partly because the alternate arms and suspenders are in the box in the garage. Having the pants without midsection looks way too odd. The arm does make getting them on/off tricky. I've also noticed that it's scratched the paint on her underboob. This was common on this figure. I'd love to pick up the red one, especially at the sale price, but I'm glad I have the blue one; I like it better. I guess I'm missing out on Klan, though I did hint it as a birthday gift to a friend.
