  1. Yup. I have the entire first series on Blu Ray in Japanese.
  2. Up to episode of 4 of 2199 (going to work my through all of both series). The only voice that is somewhat iffy is Analyzer. Not terrible but just doesn't seem to fit. Everyone else is doing a good job. This is also one of the very few times I remember where the actual words of the dub are better then the words of the sub in most cases. I'd also rate Shultz's VA as excellent in this one.
  3. Just watched the first dubbed episode of 2199 and the Voice Cast is better then I remember. No obvious zingers yet. Looking forward to watching the whole thing.
  4. Fett at least managed to capture (or lead to the capture) of Han and Leaia. I can't actually remember Phasma doing anything besides getting thrown down the garbage chute. I'm not a Fett fan either mind you. I'm still boggled by the fan adoration of the character.
  5. Yamato 2199 is $20 for the whole thing now. And the first half of 2202 is $10. That is a good price even if I don't like 2202 (I already know I love 2199). So the $30 for the second half of 2202 is not a problem. For those that wait it will probably go down in price in a year.
  6. I had to look it up on google. At 5 episodes it is barely more then a movie itself. I do remember hearing about it but not caring - it was still all Star Wars (or SciFi with spaceships) at that point for me still.
  7. For these particular dubs you can always go to funimation and stream an episode with commercials to see if you like it. I found the US VAs acceptable. Not great but not terrible. But the ability to watch a battle scene without reading dubs is well worth it for me. The third season of Star Blazers with the Speed Racer dub though...
  8. Not prime - it is available for purchase as episodes on half seasons. The plus side is if it follows Amazon's rules then it should be able to be downloaded to watch offline.
  9. Looked like an escape pod to me.
  10. The entire Yamato 2202 series is now available on Amazon Streaming - for good or ill. I'll be purchasing it and 2199.
  11. That wasn't a ruse - that was a last ditch escape for the Borg but one has to ask "If you have time travel why not do that to begin with?"
  12. Plot armor giveth and plot armor taketh away.
  13. I always took the thing Kirk was kicking was not DIRECTLY attached to antimatter or anything but something out of alignment in the plumbing along the way and JUST enough something or other was leaking to cause radiation death. The thing that bugged me was the direction he was kicking the thing would not move it back into place, more likely the opposite if anything.
  14. I don't remember what actual role he had with Legion - I know it wasn't director. But in TV land what he did have might be the equivalent since episode directors come and go. But since his only move directing credit was a bomb he would not have been my first or second or third choice to direct a "blockbuster"(*). (*) I'll grant you the Trek films and blockbuster don't really go together but that is what they are supposed to be.
  15. I'm still way back in time, just finishing up Season 1 of One Punch Man. Good show. I'm sticking to stuff I can get on Netflix for the most part.
  16. They has some semi-plausiable hand wavium for the saucer and boom design. The Yorktown station where ships from outside dock in the middle after going through a long tube makes zero sense even IN a universe where the saucer and boom design exists. The other more important part is that they wasted a boatload of money on CGI for that effect.
  17. The only problem with Beyond was Idris Alba's character. They had a first rate actor on a third rate character. The camaraderie of the main cast FELT like a trek film - for the first time in the Reboot movies. Though I still feel that Spock is too emotional in this version. For Iv they are supposedly going to get a smaller budget - and I don't think that should be a problem due to the amount that was wasted in Beyond on Pizzaz for no reason. The Yorktown station being one example - whoever designed that (in universe) should be shot. Whoever came up with it for the movie was only interested in visual flair and not a lick for practicality.
