  1. I've finally been putting mine to use. I had a Quest 1 and bought the 2 a couple months back when wireless VR was released. My favorite titles right now are Star Wars Pinball and Tales from Galaxy's Edge. The pinball implementation in SW Pinball is spot on and the ability to collect "stuff" for the pinball room is kinda fun. Galaxy's Edge is not what I expected and not a stand out title really but it is solid. The voice acting is solid as is the gameplay and visuals. Though the aiming is wonky. Next up is Moon Rider (search for it in the web browser). It is a free version of Beat Saber that has a much better song selection for an old fart like me. On the FPS side is Contractors and another Onward. I've tried Contractors and will get back to it once I finish the Tales from Galaxy's Edge game. Contractors at least is very good and Onward has a good rep from what I've seen. On the PC connect side Star Wars Squadrons is very good but it makes me motion sick is not time flat. Though I am getting better at other games so I might give it another try. The constant turning in that game is just brutal though. I also use Maps for VR quite a bit, it is a lot of fun to explore an area in 3D at about the height you would actually be if walking around. From SteamVR I play the Virtual Railroad game Rolling Line a good bit.
  2. I think I have to own that when it comes out. Depending on how the controls work of course.
  3. I've been going to "Classics" (they can't really be classics, they were written in my lifetime). The Ringworld novels and the related Man-Kzin wars series. Soon I'll pick up the latest in "The Lost Fleet" book series and then back to Man-Kzin and other classics. Perhaps the Rama series.
  4. Back to Disney. Fireworks are back! Three hotels are opening up by end of August. Park capacity has been increased again. Finally it looks like all social distancing is gone. Now what are they going to do with Fastpass+ and Virtual Queues? A number of rumors there.
  5. Hands Free- Is that the new buzzword for "It aint our fault if the car gets into an accident"? Other drivers on the road is why it is so draining to drive long distances. There is only so much white knuckle driving I can handle. My wife and I are also at the point where we can't drive in the dark after driving all day - we usually get started before the sun goes up but that is when we are rested. And no thanks for a car that is not Full Self Driving. I find it more dangerous to have the car normally drive but the driver has to take over if it does something unexpected. That is a recipe for an accident on long trips. I only use the cruise on the near empty bits of road and there are not enough of them as is.
  6. *IF* self driving cars became a reality in the true sense (not needing to watch the road and take over) I would probably let the car drive me anywhere in the US. Till then, not likely for anything less then a month long stay. (not at Disney mind, anywhere).
  7. I'm old and Pew Pew Pew by itself just doesn't cut it anymore. Maybe if the LT character wasn't such an incredibly annoying stereotype (along with every other military stereotype).
  8. Isn't Gundam a 43 episode show. That is roughly 18 hours instead of 7.5. With titles like "This Attacks!", "That Attacks!", or "The Other Thing Attacks!". Granted there was character development and perhaps I didn't see every episode title but I had trouble slogging through the first couple DVDs a few years back. Best thing with streaming is I can watch a bit and come back and watch some more as long as I don't take too long and the show goes off the service.
  9. I have a new record. Just tried to watch "Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars" on Netflix and lasted through less then a minute. Dialog like that and you KNOW its garbage all the way through.
  10. More good news is that Gundam movies 1,2,3 are coming to Netflix on Friday. I tried slogging through the show once but the animation was too dated for me to enjoy now and it was such a long show. Now I can watch the three movies and get caught up on the start of the franchise. Char's Counterattack is coming Friday as well.
  11. First teaser trailer for 2205. It looks good but then so did the trailers for 2202...
  12. One thing Disney is not is inexpensive. And this past year has taught them they can raise prices, charge for things they did not previously and pull back some on services without affecting the attendance level. I'm hoping they learn that was simply due to the unique nature of the past year. Though the rumored lightning pass could possibly be worth it from time to time depending on cost and what it actually does and the use of virtual queues for the E ticket rides would be very welcome.
  13. Still no confirmation on Fireworks but it is looking like early July. On the confirmed news front face masks are no longer required (except on transportation) starting the 15th. I'd expect even the transportation will no longer require it by end of summer at the most.
  14. Considering how bad it was forgetting it existed was the healthiest option.
  15. 2202 has been out for years now.
  16. The problem is the film itself frames the girl's action as justified and really seems to make it OK that she did what she did.
  17. Having people who release dinosaurs into a city being treated as heroes is equally silly. So is trying to use Raptors with as much control problems as the ones in the movie display.
  18. If he were green he would be the Hulk.
  19. That trailer was better than the previous one at least. I'll watch it when it gets to HBO...
