Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Dynaman replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
When the basic premise of the plot is laughable (*) there is not need to get into any details... (*) - they intercepted the asteroid far enough out into space that merely changing it's course would more then suffice.- 854 replies

We must, since the art by that stage looked a LOT like it was copied verbatim from the show - some friends of mine believe that is exactly what they did.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dynaman replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not another season, but not over yet either. More episodes are coming to tie up plots points. http://www.blastr.com/2013-3-11/lucasfilm-announces-end-clone-wars-teases-new-star-wars-toon Giving closure to fans of the show is classy, syfy take note...- 1217 replies

Although the Robotech Comics certainly had their blotchy spots the last 12 issues or so of Macross Saga were generally excellent art wise. There was one issue that was done by a guest artist in that batch though - and it was as dreadful as most of the previous ones up till then. The first FT comic (when it was still Macross) was excellent as well.

Just saw Ralph today, FAR AND AWAY a better movie then Brave. Darn near laughed myself horse, and both my boys loved it too. Best way to describe it is the video game version of Roger Rabbit. (from me that is very high praise)

That is not fair, the vast majority of fans admit the prequal trilogy was lacking.

OOOPPPS, meaint the Leia and Han relationship, accidently wrote Luke. Leia went from strong a feisty in episode 4 to a sappy weakling in episode 6. Perhaps they should steal a thought from Macross 7 and have Leia and Han be divorced, but they won't.

No need to worry there, GL pretty much ruined Luke and Han in Episode 6 already.

Resurecting the dead, just saw this last night and loved it. Sure it has plot holes but the characters are interesting and the time travel is just a plot device to get a character thinking what he would do if he could do it all over again. The younger Joe deserved an Oscar for his performance - he had Bruce Willis' mannerisms down pat. The kid in the movie was excellent as well, watching this makes me think how much better Star Wars Episode 1 would have been if this kid had played Anakin (granted he would have been a bit young at the time...)

All I can say to that is that some psychologists need to get a real life. (or a more appropriate job). The best one I ever knew said "sometimes a dream is significant, and sometimes it simply means it was bad pepporonni pizza last night". Twilight is simply the bad pizza...- 854 replies

Orguss hair and James Cameron's Avatar hair
Dynaman replied to dakedo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Arthur C Clarke (I think) came up with the idea in the sixties or seventies. It has been around for a long time. The material science is only just getting into the hypothetical "we can see this happening" stage now but the idea has been around for a while. -
It looks like they dropped a bottle of Pepto Bismal all over it.

Considering his resume I don't think he will care - this is his shot to direct a movie rather then just commercials.

I really like that part of the original Yamato, the animation is very good - considering none of it would be used later in the series, and the US flier giving the Yamato a salute was a nice touch (in reality most of them probably gave it the equivalent of the finger while admitting it put up one hell of a fight before going under, but a nice touch none the less)

Orguss hair and James Cameron's Avatar hair
Dynaman replied to dakedo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks to this thread I've started watching Orguss for the first time. The main character is a major switch from the Hikaru mindset, more like Focker really (only up to episode 2 so if things change I'll find out later). -
You kidding? the trailer was great! Too bad it was for a different movie...
-
Having seen Brave I find it hard to believe it got an Oscar. I was VERY disappointed with that film. Wreck if Ralph is not out on Netflix yet, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I see Tom Servo and Crow T Robot doing there version...

Don't forget that makeup is still available and it can do wonders, maybe not ENOUGH but still.

You CAN play steam games while offline. Going into setting and check the offline box. (After the initial game install of course, I used to do this all the time.)

That reminds me, did Dr. Forrester get a mention yet? How about TV's Frank?

You need to read the "concerning Harmony gold and robotech" thread pinned to the top of this forum for that.

Yet another reason NOT to see this movie (altough another reason to avoid it was not needed, this might be a DVD rental and then again it probably won't be)
