Yeah, having two of the first release VF-31F, I have absolutely no desire to buy the newer version. Bandai would be better of re-releasing the VF-31A and VF-31J Kai IMO.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Here's hoping there even is a new TV series. This deathly silence is kinda worrying. -
The micro-Missiles are stored in the leg FAST Pack, so of course they are not going to be included as separate pieces.

I love the VF-31 design, so I'd love to see a TV series or OVA about a squadron of skilled and sensible VF-31A military or PMC pilots with the emphasis on combat. But we all know the chances of that are slim to none. -

If we don't hear anything by the end of October, I'm calling vaporware. -
Yes, to all apart from spring-loaded firing missiles . Just no thanks, mainly because there would likely be at least an ugly semi-exposed firing buttons/mechanisms. My holy grail would be your first point, a rotating seat pilot that can raise up out of the top of the chest when in Battroid mode.

Quoting a post from January LOL -
I'm the opposite, mine are mostly in fighter mode resting on landing gear,

I own: 2 x VF-31J + 2x Super Packs. 2x VF-31F + 1x Super Packs. 2x VF-31C . 1x VF-31A. 1x VF-31S. And 2x VF-19Advance. Engineering and design wise I consider the 31 a far superior toy to the 19.

I've always loved the YF-19 design and kinda want the Bandai DX, mainly for the arm cannon and wing missiles. To be honest though, athough I did initially love the VF-19Advance when I first got it, I've kinda gone off it mainly because the front landing gear mid-strut hinge got so loose on mine that it collapses if you look at it wrongly and also the too shallow canard angle of the Bandai quite annoys me.

Trying to decide, buy either YF-19DX or VF-31Kai DX? Can only afford one not both. It's always irked me that my original pre-order for the 31Kai was rejected.

My wish list from Bandai: 1) HMR VF-2JA. 2) Ver. 3 VF-25F & VF25S with wing hardpoints, 4) DX Chogokin VF-1S DYRL Strike Valk. 5) Cannon Fodder DX Sv-262.

So, I'm guessing this is dead.

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
Graham replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Really looking forward to this. I've always been more interested in the rogues, scoundrels, bounty hunters, Storm Troopers and Clone Troopers side of Star Wars. To be honest I find most Jedi pretty boring., with the exception of Obi Wan and Ahsoka.- 1436 replies

RIP - Carlos Ezquerra (2000AD comic artist)
Graham replied to F-ZeroOne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I grew up reading 2000AD from the age of 8 and now at nearly age 49 I'm still subscribing and reading it, along with the Judge Dredd Megazine. I love Ezquerra's work on Strontium Dog, Judge Dredd and the Stainless Steel Rat adaptations, as well as more recently Cursed Earth Coburn. The man was a huge talent and had a enormous impact on the British comics scene since the 70s. He will be sorely missed. -
These actually look much better than expected. Curious to see what the fighter mode looks like from underneath.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Graham replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
I've always imagined micro-missiles in Macross to use multiple types of tracking sensor (IR/Radar/Optical), etc and employ sensor fusion. -
So, is this going to be a reboot and origin story?........urghhhh.....hope not. Hope it just continues on from the previous movies.

That's me, except I didn't bother with the HMRs, never liked them.

It really does look like Bandai's take on and refinement of the Yamato 1/48 with a bit of Yamcadia 1/60 V2 thrown into the mix. But, yeah, hardly surprising. As mentioned, there are only so many ways to make a high-end, large-scale transforming toy of the VF-1. Little disappointed that wing missiles have not been shown yet. Hope they will be included. Not getting the VF-1J, don't want to start a VF-1 collection all over again. But I will get a DYRL VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valk, when/if they release it.

Are the missiles in the leg bays the same as the VF-19 Advance? I haven't seen anybody post any photos of the leg bay missiles so far..
-
Is the head laser design of the YF-19 slightly different to the VF-19 Advance? I don't recall anybody posting about broken head lasers when the VF-19 Advance was released. One thing I didn't like about the VF-19 Advance and from the pics of the Bandai YF-19 is the too shallow angle of the canards. That is one area where Arcadia did a better job.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I wonder if the new series has been quietly dropped in favour of the second Delta movie, as there has been zero news about the new series for so long.
