  1. Earth ships and Garmillas ships side by side. Love it!! Although whose gonna try that crazy paint job!?!
  2. Loved it! Got off work early and went right to the theatre! One of the best Star Wars movies. Won't knock TFA. Loved it despite its flaws. Great movie!
  3. Which models are these two gray beauties..?
  4. That's a shame, as voice actors can be just as recognizable as someone whose face is on the screen. Quite distinctive, especially with a major character. Hope she stays with it, But if not, Lovato is very recognizable for the main song.
  5. That does look pretty cool. But what I really want is someone to come out with Melda's fighter in 1/72!!
  6. It's an anime. They can do whatever they want from having no ships except Yamato, to having a fleet two years later or having the Andromeda being built while Yamato was underway the first time... I'm more interested in knowing whether the old Bandai Andromeda is close enough to scale to the newer /1000 ships. Considering that I lengthened the Nike I think they might fit quite nicely. Though it is a bit wide and deep... The smaller ships work good too, but the old Borodino model looks way undersized, more a cruiser size itself.
  7. It's also highly possible that Andromeda was under construction even before Yamato left Earth. Having Yamato as the test bed for the tech and seeing how everything worked together before launch, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd pushed ahead despite any risk. And then seeing how well her shock cannon and main gun worked against previously impervious Garmilas ships, would spur them on even harder to get the Andromeda afloat. So it could be three years instead of two, and who knows, Andromeda may have welcomed Yamato home. As to the question of scale, here are my three Space Battleship Yamato ships, the fleet flagship Nike, the Yamato herself and the previous light cruiser Interceptor, now termed as a full fledged cruiser. Now keep in mind, the Bandai Andromeda model has been lengthened by an inch and a half, so the stock model is actually shorter than shown here, as well as having a number of extra additions. If they have increased the ships size for the new series, then the old Bandai kit may now be almost 'in-scale' with the newer 1/1000 kits. Ironic in that, upon hearing they'll be a new Andromeda model, that I sold off the four unbuilt kits that I had, figuring they would now be too large... And whether the old /700 models would be able to fit in with the /1000 ships isn't even a question for me! The last two especially look like they'll fit right in as cruiser and battlecruiser types.
  8. I'm glad that they're keeping with the original look. It should be awesome to see. But if they made her larger, like they made Yamato larger than the original series counterparts, would Bandai's older 1/700 scale kits now be 'in-scale' in comparison?
  9. It just seamed to be an odd, archaic notion for a show set in the far future with a lot of the equalities mentioned, with of course the mores of the time being the main reason.
  10. Nice to see him going beyond Star Wars. I still may not watch this one as I never watched the first one, but good for him!
  11. I could see her in the role of captain or doctor. I think the last ep of TOS, where they state that women were not starship captains, should be ignored and the example set by Star Trek Enterprise with Captain Erika Hernandez should be adhered to.
  12. No reason not to. As long as they give us Incredibles 2 as well... Yes, grim beginning to the trailer. Also noted the more 'real' looking effects rather than full cartoonish.
  13. I prefer to think of it as him seeing where you went wrong, and simply - kindly - correcting your error. You must thank him with cookies.
  14. Those Zentradi command ships look awesome! I was always disappointed with the plastic model kit of it and even thought about kit-bashing to try and fix it. I'd think about getting one like those, but those are pricey! Currently progressing on my bench.
  15. Saw it today and liked it a whole lot. Definite feel of the Harry Potter Universe, but also a different story which is very good. The only thing tying it to the previous movies is the writer, some magic and a little name dropping. It doesn't pause for introductions either but just goes with the story, which I liked. Four more? Bring'em!!
  16. Never seen any of the manga or the anime. I've only seen the trailer and I like the trailer. The visuals are stunning, the androids look cool and creepy at the same time and I like the mechanical adaptations in the actors. I also love Scar Jo and think she looks hot in that body suit. Even if it's only a story of her trying to find her past and whether or not she has been betrayed from the start, as long as there is hard action to help drive the story, I'm in!
  17. Really hope so as well. I thought the one in Ark of Stars was an experimental ship anyway. Would like to see the Earth Fleet being more than sitting ducks.
  18. The trailer held close to the animated theme, and I'm hoping the movie does as well. It's really well done - and my nostalgia is speaking quite loudly.
