You know things are getting 'rough' when someone shows up in a spurting bubble suit...

I want her to die having done something! The cut scene from the TLJ fight has Finn exposing her as a coward to her troops, before she 'dies' in the fall, but there was such a build up to the menace of the character that was never delivered. Instead, it's wiped away when she surrendered Starkiller Base's defense with barely a whimper, that she just turned into a big disappointment.

Definitely! I know that one, but that is really the only TOS looking ship in the whole series, except for the wire frame of the Defiant. It's also not the hero ship, as they barely show it, and all their adventures are on the USS Disc-Uglybutt. That would have been so much better! Am I imagining things, or was there actually going to be a TOS-ish style when the show was originally conceived? That, I do recall, was a show concept that was not picked up. It was supposed to take place during the decline of the Federation, with the christening of a new Enterprise to try and get Starfleet back to exploring. What I recall most is that the Klingons were to have evolved socially into a warrior-monk-type race of wanderers.

I really liked TFA. TLJ was a poor cousin, and I'm hoping the final act will land with the follow through from all the promised leads in the Force Awakens. A high note it needs to be ended on... Does the Sith Trooper have anything to do with the actual Sith, or are they just reusing the name? (Me, I think it was not a bright idea to change the Sith/Jedi dynamic in the first place, though Darth Kenny does not have the greatest ring to it...) Would love it they brought back the Sith! Looking at the article, I think Richard E Grant looks damn cool in Imperial black. From that image alone, I wish General Pryde had been a constant through all three films. Guy looks serious AF!

If they could give us a Captain Pike show, with actual TOS style ships (but understanding the need for a more advanced look to the tech) I would be quite happy.

It was a real good movie. Not a blockbuster IMO, but a fun flick. The humor was nice and had the audience laughing. Pacing was a little slow at first, but it sure picked up as it went along But that being said, I enjoyed it. Won't see it again in the theater, but I'll buy the blu-ray.

Nice! For me, one of the best movies of 2019. Would be a shame if they didn't make a sequel. Can't wait for the blu-ray to come out.

I'd be hoping for Tangled, Frozen and Atlantis! There was a live-action version of the Frozen in Once Upon a Time, even a Mulan and Merida. The stories could have used some work, but the actresses pulled the roles off well enough.

Real sleek looking ship. And that radar array looks fantastic.

Actually doesn't. There was literally nothing said either way on whether pregnant women suddenly found themselves not pregnant or if a woman vanished into dust leaving a fetus behind. Thinking on it, it would be possible that the Snap merely meant that both mother and child were connected on close enough levels that if one were to disappear, it would take the other with it by default.

Most audiences would hate that ending, and if it did I wouldn't go see it in the theater, so that's money out of their pocket. Doubt they'd do that. I can see this having an ending similar to the animated movie, in that being a Happy Ending even though is not based on the animated Disney movie at all, but on the original poem itself. Probably why we also won't see Mushu or cricket... May not have any singing either. Personally, I wish it was more in-line with the animated movie, but what we are seeing so far, I'm liking.

Could we actually wonder if it will be a good movie or not..?

Here's a real mermaid. Fictionalized mermaids (or mermen) are not real and so what their coloring is, is just as much a fiction as the mermaid herself. As to the new movie, I did pause for a moment when seeing they'd hired a black (brown?) girl for the role, but that's because I've grown up with Ariel being white (pale?) with bright red hair. Now, is there some rule that says she has to stay white with bright red hair? No. Though, to be honestly, I would rather they had kept the look of the character the same, but that's just because it's what I'm familiar with. Kind of the same thing with the new MJ in Spiderman. The original story itself was written 182 years ago, in a time when white people were predominant, but that is not the same anymore. We live in a diverse culture that is becoming steadily more so every year, and to consider that they (Disney) would seek to identify with that wider demographic is not a wild notion. Money is the bottom line, and more butts in the seats is the goal. And this is being made for far younger audiences than most of us, namely preteen to teenage girls. Would Disney like it if we (the older generation) liked it as well? Sure they would, but we are not the main target. In the end, all that really matters if it is a good story, well written and well acted. And if the kids like it.

Never heard of her before, but she's pretty that's for sure. Interested to see how she fits into the character.

You'll like it. The Defiant is a good model to build.
