  1. Nice lighting effect on that MilF! And just from one light source?!
  2. Go all out on it! That would look great in a dark room.
  3. Great work and photography on that Valk!!
  4. Hmm. The impression I have is that they have the rights to the names but not the likeness. They can hire a new actor for the role, but can't use another person's face without their permission, even if they had been on the role before. But then I don't know much about this kind of thing,
  5. Sometimes what you say comes back to bite you. I won't defend what he said in the past other than it was already known when he was initially hired and to fire him now is just a cheap reaction to remanufactured complaints. It's not like this was ever hidden and it seems to definitively have a political motive. Of course the success of GotG may have also made this an explosive easter egg, where it didn't matter so much when the movie wasn't expected to be so huge and popular. Now they are huge movies and everything is under a spotlight that usually sees nothing but the flaws.
  6. I actually felt CG Tarkin was done pretty well. It was a little jarring at first, but then it just looked like him. However CG Young Leia was totally bad. I understand there are current limits that are constantly advancing, but if you couldn't do it at that stage in R1's development, then they should have used some simple FX trickery to disguise how unreal the CG was. Something as simple as turning down the lights, utilizing light reflection from the screens and shooting the face from a less direct angle would have done wonders. As to them using Leia's face in another movie, as posted above, they probably learned their lesson (for now), but also they would need permission from the family to do it. They had permission from Cushing's family to his face in the movie and they would need the same from Fisher's.
  7. Turns out I do have the resin bucks the canopies were formed in. I'm still hoping to get word about replacing them, but if not I'll have to give press-molding them a try. Another option is to find misc canopies that fit, and since I'm building mine as a later, modified version that could work too.
  8. I'll preface that I did like Star Trek 09. It was a fun movie and I felt the cast really played the characters rather than trying to make them into something too new. Into Darkness unfortunately, while having some good moments, was to much of a rip-off of WoK. That scene where Spock screams Kahn in a reversal of their positions, was totally absurd. But I think the hate for ID started when JJ claimed it would not have Kahn in it. But Beyond was very good. I felt it was a solid story with good action and personal moments and it is well worth a watch.
  9. True. But the show wasn't Battlestar Pegasus. And I would have been fine with him making that choice! HA! Spot on. I ignore their stupid over-sizing. There was never any reason for. The only time I get into trouble with it is when the model companies go by those sizes too, which makes it hard to keep the ships 'in-scale.'
  10. I know how you feel! That's why mine is sitting on the shelf half painted. I knobbed up the canopy real good, and I only had one set to play with. I really should check SSM store if replacements are available...
  11. I know, Discovery is the 'hero' ship. It would be like Admiral Adama choosing to save the Pegasus as his flagship over the Galactica. I would also counter that Enterprise is faaar more important than Discovery ever will be. But maybe I'm just old school Trek and would choose the Enterprise over the Disc. Plus, it's still just so butt ugly!
  12. To bad Pike didn't stay on Enterprise and just told Discovery to go back to the barn, holding Enterprise's beer.
  13. I liked the first trailer and this just kicked it up a high notch! The first was mysterious and melancholy especially with In the Arms of an Angel playing, but this one definitely amps up the action. I want to say I remember seeing the anime, but I only vaguely recall it. The imagery looks great, the atmosphere of the world they're in which is apparently three centuries past a devastating war is intriguing and I want to see her kicking major cyborg butt! I love stories like this, with a person out of her time and element, trying to find out who she is and fighting for the world she finds herself in. Whatever reason they needed to pause this since the last trailer half a year ago I'm fine with. Now I wish it was December already!
  14. Some flash backs to when they first appeared would be nice. To judge by all the missing posters, it wasn't a quick 'invasion,' as there was time to note someone was missing and to put up pictures, and then it would have reached a tipping point. I would like to see that. And normally I don't like to pick on movies and give them the benefit, but that part with the kid was just loosely done, especially when they are being so careful with everything else.
  15. I'm looking forward to this, but why couldn't Starscream just be an F-15, like the good old days?
  16. Finally saw this the other day, and it was really good! My only gripes would be... Other than that, kewwwwwwl!!
  17. I'm interested, but I'd prefer something after the movies rather than before. We know her background. Now show us more.
  18. Very good work on that Yamato! And I actually like the replaced missile launcher.
