No thanks! After 2020 I want some damn Happily Ever Afters! Although, at the moment in the trailer when it mentioned the virus attacking the brain tissue I thought this was going to turn into a massive zombie movie.

Alright cool episode, and how about that answer for the Burn right?! Wow, so the Progenitor race seen in TNG actually had a base on that dilithium planet and it went working quietly away all on its own for millennia or more, and then an asteroid struck the planet. Blew it pretty much into ragged bits, but enough of the ancient system still remained and went haywire. So that's what made all that dilithium all across the known galaxy go inert, thus causing all the warp cores to breach. And now the Wicked Witch wants control of it, seeing how the Emerald Chain were able to do what the Federation could not, and made an alternative to the dilithium system, freeing their ships up from the need of that dwindling resource. And now if they have the ancient Progenitor tech at their disposal, they would be able to do another Burn, thereby finally killing off the Federation and every other galactic contender and become the rulers of the galaxy at large. I tell you, I'm on pins and needles to find out how they stop the Witch from using the device. Can't wait until next week! Oh wait, yes I can, as all of that was in my head... So, the Burn was caused by a child having a tantrum? And Saru can't keep his act together, despite having done so on numerous occasions before. And Tilly proves why you don't put an untested 'officer' in the big chair, rather than someone with experience of not just the job, but the stresses and the dangers that can hit you like a bat out of left field. I'll say this, the crew of Discovery is governed more by luck than know-how, and are the most dysfunctional mess in the history of all of Star Trek. When they win, just by chance and tears of course, the Admiral had better sh*t-can the entire crew and put more dependable, professional people in charge. Dammit, where is Pike..?

I'm totally outside the curve then, cause I loved it! I liked it even better than the first WW, which is saying something, since I saw it eight times in the theater, cough cough... But I liked it from beginning to end. Sure there were some out there parts, but considering this is a story about a demi-goddess super-heroine who lassos lightning bolts, I didn't let it bother me. The story was good, it had a good length in which to give the MC enough time to shine while also giving the secondary characters room to be more than thin, cardboard cut-outs, because c'mon, if the secondary characters are paper thin then that's more of a problem than a biplane jock flying a jet halfway around the world. And I loved her flight scenes! Damn those were done so freaking well, especially when viewed as a catharsis for her rescinding her wish. That that and the soundtrack is just awesome! Zimmer knocks another one outa the park. I paid $14 for the first month of HBO Max, and I'll be watching it again before I cancel it before the month is out. Now, bring on WW3!!

Star Wars Rogue Squadron, in theaters TBA
Thom replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I will say this. General Hux, when he wasn't being used as a joke, could have won. Starkiller Base was his baby and if not for Kylo Ren leading the Resistance right to it, the FO might have had some props. Also with TLJ, as he was the one who managed to keep the Resistance on 'the string' for two hours and was actually the more reasonable of the two on Uber-Hoth. But that was a major problem of the sequel trilogy, when do they go for good story telling over the needs of comedy relief? And poor Phasma. She could have been so badass instead of mediocre.- 115 replies

So much this! All of the Mad Max movies focus on the struggles just to survive. I would love to see one where society is starting to come back.

If this was a sequel rather than a prequel, as I last heard it is, I would be interested.

That was a great ending to season 2! The Mandalorian has yet to disappoint me. Even the fillers were filled with interesting character moments, good acting and sweet action. Also don't mind the inclusion of new characters as they all went to forwarding the story and, to me, didn't feel like simple add-ons.- 1438 replies

Yeah, I don't think it is really cannibalism if it's a different species. But still, eating a sentient person... bring on the knife and fork, huh?!

CANNIBLE?! Jeesh, so glad I skipped season 1! Would have been nice if the Guardian had replaced her with Prime Universe Phillipa, then she could become captain of Discovery.
