Well a magically appearing cable anchor is not much better as well, is it? -
Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3

You could always clearcoat it again, as long as the clearcoat works. I'm not sure how well it will adhere to the gloss plastic though. Still, the only part of the DX that is wearing off for me is the top of the back plate for Alto, since that is about the only place to hold it in battroid mode. Drifand: That Ozma looks great! Crasis: After handling my Alto I'm sad that I missed the pre-order for Michael and Luca! Oh well. The shoulder problems are probably due to some issue with the tolerances with the mould-- the left shoulder is too tight, causing the screw breakages, while the right shoulder is too loose. These problems seem to be cropping up. However, if you hold the '5-dot' shoulder piece while rotating the left arm, there should be less strain on the screw, and you need some glue or something for the right shoulder as has been mentioned before. -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!

A purple VF-27 would look so much more badass than green. I think Nora has established purple as the standard evil colour! -
That makes 3! 1/60 Regults and Glaugs for sure!
-
Given how well the DX is selling, I'd say Bandai succeeded. Eugimon: An expensive way would be to find one of those VF-25F w/Ranka decal sheets and use that, since they have that exact nose art on it.

That looks amazing! Luckily I've sworn never to go to 1/48.
-
Two tone white is not a good thing when its supposed to be the same! This is a prototype though so I'd expect the final product to be better in this regard.
-
Yep that's exactly what happened to me for my Luca and Michael Oh well it's not really their fault though, and their prices are better than anywhere else I've found.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

Sounds great! Will he be transformable? -
Sweet! I'm so going for that, if I can figure out how to order it. thanks for the link!

There are 2 25th Anniversay YF-19s out there, the 1/60 Yamato which is black with gold tampo printing, and the 1/72 Hasegawa which is dark blue with gold decals.

It should work, but it looks ugly as hell. Not to mention the jokes about kicking the battroid in the 'sensitive area' since all the sensors are there. I'd say stick with the original mode--fighter is where it's at!

Do you have any screen shots? The dihedral of the model kit is only 2-3 degrees, so it might be missed when watching the anime. Besides, given the accuracy of the model kit in so many ways I'd doubt the dihedral was unintended.

Only works on pretty girls like Sheryl though.. imagine if Brera had boobs.. ewww.

To reduce the ick factor a little bit-- the twin stepsisters don't share any blood relation to him, which means that either he's adopted, or they are. (Source from wiki) It still sounds like one of those weird twisted Japanese adult computer games though.

The Impulse Gundam is the ultimate example of mould milking by Bandai! Not that I'm complaining

That doesn't exactly word, since in episode 25, Luca (under NUNS) called Ozma Tai-sho (Which in my sub is translated as Major) and then Ozma scolded him and called him 'Skull-3' and then Luca (SMS) now calls him Kanchou--- which, taken together with Ozma's past in the NUNS makes me think that he retired/took an honourable discharge as a Major in the NUNS and holds the rank of Captain in the SMS.

anime52k8: Aww comeon... F-15 w/Stealth features lookalike vs futuristic alien fighter jet and you think the F-15 lookalike is cooler?? I doubt your sense of cool! Otoh, the better fighter won, and LM deserved the win I think. The YF-23 was little better than a mockup that could fly, while the YF-22 broke the sound barrier in the flyoffs and even fired weapons. Still, the innovation of the YF-23 shows in the changes that they made from the YF-22 to the F-22. Shiroikaze: That interim bomber project has been shelved. As to SK being a mini-prophet, probably not. He probably drew inspiration for the YF-21-->VF-22 conversion from how the Northrop YF-17 became the MDD/Northrop F/A-18 after losing the LWF competition. He even added 1 to the fighter designation just like the F-18

Really? I thought the B-1 had a blended wing/body design and so could be expected to generate lift from the fuselage as well. I'd guess that the massive LERXes, if they can be called that, on the VF-25, as well as the ridiculously large wing glove area, contribute to the fuselage lift on the VF-25. Doh! On the hull issue. Thanks FV, for making the obvious logical leap that I missed

The Red Queen theory of stealth evolution? It would probably be a nice retcon to explain what happened. Aren't the fins on the front of the cockpit for the SV-51 supposed to be some active stealth system or ECM as well? D.D.: IRSTs are not as powerful as you think, especially small sensors like those that they mount on fighter jets I'd figure the F-22 is pretty safe at anything beyond sidewinder range. There are other ways to combat the F-22 though, since there are so few of them around. David Hingtgen: A shiny silver paint wouldn't be IR absorbent-- it would just emit less IR/be more IR reflective. Basic physics says that IR absorbent=IR emitting, and since the aircraft is usually warmer than ambient, having shiny silver paint would reduce your IR signature as compared to black paint. The main IR target would still be the exhaust though, an area in which the F-22 is probably OK due to the nozzle design, though probably not as good as the F-117, B2 or YF-23. Mr.March: Superdimensional heat sink theory wouldn't work anyway, if you had to use your engines. In space, its actually the exhaust that creates most of the radar/IR signature, especially if the exhaust is a plasma (which is probably what you'd get in a TRT).

The original character designs would look out of place if you update everything else though-- I think the character designs as per the Macross Ace book should be fine.

Thats true for the varja cables, but it would have been so much easier to slave Alto's VF-25 to one of the other VFs and fly it out IMO. Less chance of complications! -
Hmm thats true.. oh well. No worries in this area-- Bandai is no stranger to milking the moulds either Yep that upcoming av is done by some company that specialises in spoofs of anime series-- I heard that they have done a code geass av as well!

Until fairly recently the Russians didn't even have enough money to buy the fuel to keep their fighter pilots flying enough to maintain their flight currency. I think SK was really influenced by the ATF competition--- to the point where the similar looking fighters both lost
