The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post
wm cheng replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
Wow that's amazing!!! -
This is another of those shows that I want to start, but my lady says she’s not interested in. I’ll probably have to find time after she goes to bed or something.

Some heavier firepower and maybe more ammo capacity

Just heard about this one. Lots of people from shows and movies from my childhood have been passing lately, but a lot are usually from more shady reasons. This one kinda sounds like a total accident. He was also one of the few big names of young actors from those times that seemed to avoid big troubles later in life.

I think you nailed it Big! I was thinking of it like a “GU-11 mk. ll” since it has a different profile and is larger than the Hs version.

@derex3592 I can't wait to see what you do with the Cat's Eye kit! Years ago, there was a member on this board that sold me a set of 1/72 scale female macross pilots. It included a Misa pilot that would be perfect for that kit.

Looks really cool. It’s great to see these classic designs getting new life. yeah, would be nice to check out the other models. Oddly, there’s also the alternative version from moderoid, you could get a couple of those for comparison purposes. -
I was wondering the same thing
-
I’m pretty sure it retracts for fighter so that it’s more aerodynamic, but why it extends for gerwalk and Battroid is a mystery to me. Probably just a rule of cool kinda thing. But maybe it has an odd purpose, like cooling or something. But more than likely just to add interest in the design for the more robotic modes visually.

Better get two to build both forms 😄 I'm having so much fun with the kit. -
Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind.

Looks right to me…and is accurate to the design source. I suppose as long as the anti-glare panel is black or flat, the outside canopy colour should not impede the pilot's vision. Just wait till you see the next one, lol!

Those are beautiful art pieces! $500 back in 2001?! That was an absolute fortune to me as a 2nd year grad student. I think my round trip flight to Madrid that year cost me only $400, and my monthly rent was $250. I love these look-backs. Thanks for sharing!

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Hikaru Ichijo SL replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Summer Pockets started off so well. Now I am just bored by it. -
I think, if Pose+ had used these as references for their internals on the Legioss, there wouldn’t have been as much grumbling. We’d still complain about how it’d impact/compromise the whole structure of the vehicle. But the vitriol would have been slightly less.

If that's your most recent purchase, I don't think there has really been anything substantial arriving on the market since that point. Maybe if you didn't get an Armored VF-25S Ozma, or missed the DX VT-1 or YF-21? They did release a red Sv-262 last fall, along with another DX Hikaru VF-1J limited release with missiles. Bandai's really been focusing on Frontier and Delta (re-)releases for the most part, unless you're interested in picking up an HMR VF-19P Zola version. Arcadia did re-release the Shin VF-0A, if that's something you'd be interested in. We're kind of in a holding pattern while the Bandai DX Fire Valk cooks, and waiting to see if they follow through with anything else from Macross 7.

Pitiban Mailaway Iron On Offer in Model Kits
Shawn replied to nightmareB4macross's topic in Collectors
And you know what? I think YOU just solved a mystery from 43 years ago!!! When Nichimo started the line, they initially had stickers on the first 2 releases (the black and white stickers) They immediately changed the design so the suction cup picture was part of the box picture itself. So what is the 40 year old mystery that might be solved? Because of the Iron on promo! To get the Iron-Ons you'd need to have bought 5 kits and cut out section in the box But what if it was just a sticker? You could peel them off in the store from some kits on the shelf to get the same thing! Well those shenanigans were going to be stopped! LOL -

Wanted to share another item from the extreme-rare category of Mospeada history, the Cutaway series. Around 2001 I picked up this Cutaway Armo-Soldier cel from Mandarake Torrance, it was $500 at the time which was a LOT of money. This was the original Cel created by Artmic, and it is large! Here it is from a pic I took back in 2001 with my Macross VO cdrom for comparison About 10 years ago it was part of a trade to another member here on the board. Flipping up the corner to take a peek, its hand painted! Flash Forward 25 years later, another Cutaway pic showed up on Yahoo Japan Auctions this week, the Armo-Fighter mode cel! 804,098 yen later, it is was secured for the same person I traded the Soldier mode to, and will be in transit soon. That is a FAR cry from the measly $500 from 2 decades ago!! When it arrives I'll make sure to get some detailed pics to share The seller did the same 'peek' As far as I know, there are just 2 more in this Cutaway series, the Mospeada bikes in both modes. Here are the pics of these from the Artmic Design book from the 80's Its crazy to know exactly where 50% of these assets are 40 years later! Shawn
