  1. Past hour
  2. I guess I should’ve looked at the rear view and at the seat, it does have a slight angle to it
  3. link here: https://twitter.com/kawamoriexpo/status/2039342534904905752 btw, wasn't the 25G that carried the speakers? as such, that FA-18 valk doodle doesn't quite look anything like a VF-25F, even if you squint hard. Bandai should've just made Kawamori's VF-18M a reality instead...
  4. I think you’re right about the exaggerated look. Had to try and find some pics from the actual show I think the bottom one shows it more boxy looking rather than angled while the line art isn’t nearly as angled as the painted version, it does look like they probably were just going for an odd perspective although the overhead does kind look angled very slightly and the pads appear slightly smaller at the closer they get to the top possibly suggesting a bit of a taper
  5. Or Admiral Kuznetsov. By all evidence that thing is even more cursed than the Kamchatka. Some might say the Admiral Kuznetsov is unsinkable... because a seemingly unending string of accidents, mechanical and electrical failures, and other calamities make it unlikely she'll ever leave drydock again.
  6. Was watching a guy on YouTube a week or two ago that would work on many toy lines and he has some interesting stories. He was talking about one of the classic style masters of the universe redos, and he said that they had to use the actual figure in some cases to redo molds that were either lost of destroyed. The figures mentioned ended up slightly smaller than the original since it was essentially a copy of a copy kind of thing. It was on the Spector Creative channel on YouTube, you may want to check out some of his videos, they deal more with toys than models, but as far as the molding process and problems it’s a very similar thing. Some of his videos are very informative about things but aren’t super long.
  7. Man, I know the old Monogram kit is a disaster, but how do you even manage to produce decals (and the entire box sample for that matter) that inaccurate?
  8. This is quite the elaborate April Fools joke...
  9. Cool. I won`t be surprised ..............
  10. Today
  11. I would imagine those molds are made to varying degrees of durability, based on the initial investment and predicted longevity of the kit. Higher investment and better materials would probably last longer. These days though, everything is most likely CNC milled, so while molds do degrade, it's not like they're ever actually lost. Still will take time and investment to remake them, but the CAD files shouldn't be lost.
  12. THIS! I might see if Brother In Law wants to check this out in the theater!
  13. This apparently posted by Kawamori today on X (unfortunately I don’t have the link). Looks like an F-18 with a VF-25 transformation scheme.
  14. Considering how much better this is than your typical Takara jet, I find this hilarious.
  15. Very interesting release. It had more effort put into it than the DX VF-17
  16. I vehemently hope for a successful, uneventful launch. Far too much time has passed since we dared attempt this adventure, and while we're not yet putting boots in the regolith, a manned orbit is an exciting necessary step towards landings. Godspeed Artemis II!
  17. Ha, CD Japan just reminded me I ordered one of these! Looking forward to it out of curiosity.
  18. It's not. That artwork greatly exaggerates the angle of the seat. These orthographic views are a lot more consistent: It has become clear to me that the engine pods are all oversized on Jose's model, and the front fairing along with them. I'll make substantial adjustments to scale and proportions for the next prototype. Those Navy Division (NA.D.) outfits never even appeared in the anime, yet they got model kits instead of the Spartas Hovertanks...? 🤨 Southern Cross merchandise was a joke, all right. 🙄 Seriously, though... "Seats up to 3 fashion dolls." 🤨 Those Matchbox packaging designers must've been on crack back in the '80s. 🤪
  19. Who’s to say that Bandai won’t release a VF-1 version later on? Even if it’s limited to the Japanese market, they could still do it after seeing the demand for one. They already have the license from Paramount and it would be more wasteful if they didn’t fully use it. They know the VF-1 will sell in Japan and just be resold to the rest of the world. Regardless, Bandai will still get paid. They do it all the time with their limited Tamashi Nations exclusive releases.
  20. I really like the lo-viz look. I may grab one of these on clearance and do some repainting.
  21. You know the worst part about that? The reverse transformation back to fighter is where the freakin' thing will explode if you follow the instructions, because Bandai never realized the legs don't work the same way going both directions. Following the instructions is the fastest way to make sure your knee joints turn into very expensive shrapnel.
  22. With all that multiverse stuff, he probably just got yanked over from a dimension where he was used for weapon X instead of Logan. I guess that Logan would just be able to heal really well after his very breakable bones keep getting snapped in fist fights and he regrets stepping into bars because he can smell everything even though he really needs a drink
  23. Some pics I found on a quick search The seat may have to angle up just a little and I never realized how triangular the seat actually is supposed to be. And the front while looking totally awesome is probably too big like you said. Looks like the top of the console area is pretty close to level with the top of the seat maybe just slightly lower than the top of the seat, it’s a bit tough to tell from that over the top view picture
  24. This is awesome, thank you very much for making this available!
  25. My copy of the Valkyrie and Destroid Encyclopeida arrived yesterday. As speculated above, it's mostly just a reprint of the line art with not a lot of technical details or new information, but it appears to be quite comprehensive, with a lot of stuff from games, M2, and Macross the Ride in additon to the series and movie mechs. Most of it is art I've seen before, but there is some new stuff (to me, at least) in here, like this spread on the Delta Workroid. Am looking forward to a detailed perusal this weekend!
  26. Hobby Japan Web has a small writeup on the 20th. Anna of the command Vorct story line with some graphics and maps.
