Maybe if you're talking purely about developing new products? But if they have the choice of using their production space for something they (think they) can sell in a (theoretically) untapped market? Yeah, they're going to cater to the place that might theoretically actually bring in new customers. Otherwise, there's no explanation for why their releases for the past couple of years now have mostly played out like a greatest hits collection that everyone in Japan probably has multiples of by this point. We're obviously never going to see any data, but I would be really curious to see the sales numbers of all these re-pops based on region.

Weirdly enough, I never had such an issue. But then again, I didn't keep it long enough to notice many (or any) problems. I sold it along to someone almost as soon as I snapped it together.

Tbh, I've transformed my RG zeta a few times and I've never had a problem with it. Now the RG Sinanju was quite bad. That required a lot of reinforcing to stabilize the torso enough that it could even stand on its own.

Same experience here with loose joints too. Also, the hip / waist lock keeps wanting to slide back up whenever I move the toy, it is pretty annoying. There's the criticism of Sentinel Tread's lower legs, but now I'm reminded their Legioss also has the nearly the same issues. There's no lower leg rotation, and ankle range feels very limited. It's a challenge to find some nice poses without having the feet looking dislocated or at some weird angle..

Yup.. Back then I wasn't really familiar with Gunpla - I happened to come across a modeling exhibition by a local distributor, and at that moment felt the urge to obtain a kit of an old transforming Gundam toy I used to have as a kid (found out much later it was a ZZ). The RG Zeta was the only one I found there that came close enough to what I remember of that toy, so I went home with it and if memory serves, built it much later. Although it didn't handle well after I was done, I do remember being impressed that no glue or paint was needed, unlike my very limited modeling experience when I was like perhaps just 11, being given a model kit of a car, and then could only afford the cement and couple of paint colors after skipping some lunches.

I knew that Powered Convoy came with a buggy that Ultra Magnus didn't, but how did the one they're adding to Ultra Magnus get the name "Deerstalker?"- 17618 replies

Yes, essentially Deerstalker is Ultra Magnus' version of roller. The Diaclone version of Magnus was called "Powered Convoy" was an upgraded Convoy unit with a new trailer, weapons, and a new transforming car called "Powered Buggy". Here is a pictures of the Japanese advertisements from tfwiki. For some unknown reason there was never an official Transformer release of powered buggy with Ultra Magnus. I am really hoping they do a Diaclone colors (Delta Magnus) in Missing link soon.- 17618 replies

I think all the casting is spot-on, Dastmalchian isn't a big or intimidating guy, but he's a phenomenal talent with great range, his current run on the Dexter spin-off shows he's got the chops for a villain roll, I'm in. I've met the Dutch Giant twice at the gym, absolutely fantastic guy, this was right before the new season of Reacher dropped so I tossed a ton of questions his way, him as Zangief is just beyond perfect. -
I’m not exactly handling it every day. But after dealing with a Toynami Alpha, this is still a joy to pose out (without too many limitations):

I think a lot of us can relate to that; toys were always important to me as we were not well off so I didn't have a large or complete collection of anything, and I cherished what I did have. Transformers and building blocks were my two favorite things (not much has changed over the last 40 years except for the volume of my acquisitions. 13-year-old me would absolutely piss himself if he could see what I have now). Oddly enough, the scale thing often hits me more when I'm out on a walk and encounter the odd LEGO piece that a kid has dropped on the sidewalk. LEGO has been an integral part of my life for most of it; I handle it or see it every day and yet when I encounter a random piece it in the wild it always seems so small, like it's smaller than it really is. It's a weird perception, but in that analogous comparison I can completely understand @26662's amazement at how small the G1 toys were compared to today's main line and SS86 figures, and all the more diminutive compared to MP.- 17618 replies

I got several "your stuff is going to ship early" emails, too (weirdly for Skydive but NOT Fireflight), but until I actually get the "we shipped your stuff" email I'm taking their dates with a grain of salt. I'm a little cranky. People were saying online that they were finding Mixmaster at Target. I checked inventory online- none at my local Target, but in stock in the next town over. I made the half-hour drive after putting my kid on the bus only to find barren shelves. The girl working in the toy department checked her computer, they supposedly got him in yesterday, but after looking in the stockroom for awhile she couldn't find him and I went home empty-handed.- 17618 replies
