The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post
Shawn replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
I can't believe the size and heft of the injections molds...like seriously how do you maneuver them around, and how much room do you need to store them? Its just crazy, There was a Dengeki Hobby or HJ 10 years ago or something that had an article with pics of Macross molds from Bandai, including a pic of the 1/200 Monster if I recall I just can't remember where the heck I saw it -

Looks like some kind of sniper custom. Can’t say I remember that one at all. Although I think the head should have its mid and short range eyes since the scope of the rifle seems connected to the head and would function as the extreme long range scope. Basically looks like it has redundant long range vision and no normal range vision and might just trip on a rock. Then again maybe on the other side of that scope is the short range lense Bandai really likes milking the Scopedog for any variants they can, but how about something else every now and then

I was kinda joking about her making that kind of comeback, but after reading this comment, maybe it’s a decent prediction. I’m gonna laugh pretty hard if there ever is another mention of the character

I didn’t know he had anything to do with Dr Strange. But I do think Gunn knows how to do comedic bits and somehow have great heartfelt moments. I think the inclusion of characters like Krypto and Guy Gardner are gonna give some little laughs here and there, but probably won’t rely on them throughout. I think Gunn will give us a more heartfelt Superman movie than the Snyder version. Gunn seems able to give some great moments while Snyder kinda has to force a moment and his films kinda lack heart. Not gonna say we won’t get a cheap laugh here and there though, but Superman historically has always had those kind of moments.

You shouldn't be paying any additional tariffs if purchased from ShowZ (or their sister store Gundamit). The tariffs are incorporated in their new shipping fees to the US, when it used to be free shipping. ShowZ has worked out an arrangement with the delivery provider where they will use the tariff % rate rather than the flat fee, and ShowZ is paying that in advance on behalf of the buyer. The costs of that are passed along in the new shipping fee (ShowZ may also be eating some portion of this, but I'm not sure). These costs are way lower than you would think because ShowZ (like many Chinese stores have regularly done for a very long time) is under-declaring the heck out of the items, like $10 or $20 for a $200 figure. If for some reason there are add'l tariff charges, ShowZ has said that they will take care of it for the buyer. So there should be nothing the buyer should have to pay after the item has been purchased and shipped. ShowZ/Gundamit is essentially banking on Customs not having the time, desire, or resources to open up every package and to look them up to see what they're really worth and find out they are significantly under-declared or otherwise misreported. FWIW, many of the shops in Japan like AmiAmi, Hobby Genki, etc. are also listing everything they send as Japan as the country of origin even if they are made in China. Because the de minimis exemption is still available (at least for now) for Japan, this means packages under $800 coming in from those shops don't get hit with any tariffs.

I'm currently waiting on a pair from ShowZ, and watching the tracking information. I'll probably eat the cost if there is any, but will definitely report it here once I find out the details.

My first attempt at some UV resin casting. I needed a duplicate cockpit so here goes nothing. I used this reusable mold clay stuff that softens in hot water. Pressed the piece into the clay and let it cool. Then it’s as easy as adding liquid resin and hit it with a UV light for a few minutes. Really easy to work with. After casting I just need to do some clean up and I’m good to go.

If it can rotate, it wouldn’t be too bad, but I doubt they could have easily molded the pads to the top and bottom pieces at that small a size. Not saying it couldn’t be done, just that it would take more creative engineering and might limit the bend of the arm.

I hope SS TFTM Grimlock still gets reissued. My Target seems to keep getting stock. If not that many toys are on the shelves that just means other collectors in my area already bought them. So far I've found Jazz, Air Raid, Slingshot, Bonecrusher, and Scrapper.- 17159 replies

Yeah, the power of dogsh*t-tier writing is a pathway to many plot developments some consider to be unnatural. That said, in Star Wars, I think we've only seen one person actually return from death and that was just recently. Emperor Palpatine and Mother Talzin both tried to avoid dying for real by using the dark side to turn themselves into the undead. Palpatine used the dark side to anchor his mind to his dead-and-rotting corpse like a classic voodoo zombie or a lich. Talzin used the dark side to turn herself into the galaxy's nastiest lingering fart, existing as a vampiric mist made of "magical ichor". Both of them needed to feed on the life energy of other people to regain a functional body and avoid dying for real. Boba Fett just pulls a "reports of my death-by-felching in a giant anus monster in the desert were greatly exaggerated" since he suffers a classic Disney villain "death" offscreen during Return of the Jedi. Dedra Meero... well... her ticket is likely to get punched in a less survivable, more verifiable manner.

1/60 would probably be between the two sizes of the Gakken 1/55 Legioss toys and around the size of an HMR if Bandai ever made one. The 1/55s were nice for their time and I can see something that size updated in sculpt with full 3 mode transformation work.

Preordered the set with Kurtwood Smith autograph at 10:03 AM PST. It will go well with my NECA Alex Murphy signed by Peter Weller. Looks like the set will come with the cigarettes. Shipping to the US was only $60. Looking forward to adding the figures to my Robocop collection.

Pre-orders are open now. https://www.jfstoys.com I was lucky to procure a Clarence signed by Kurtwood Smith, but the international shipping cost alone is over $100 for the five... 🤕
