  1. Today
  2. Thanks. The pilots are my favorite part. 😊
  3. Hey thanks. Yeah, I love to push myself and try new things. I also read up on how to approach things that interest me so I am prepared to dive in. Maybe it’s making sourdough bread, learning to drywall in my home, fixing my bicycle or whatever it happens to be. Reading about how to do something and the actual doing are so wildly different. I still learn the most by the doing part and all the mistakes I make are great opportunities for learning. I have a good enough sort of attitude with the hobby for the most part but I pay attention to the process and outcome. There is plenty of room for improvement, growth… I wish I had started building sooner but better late than never. I think that getting older and having a family has changed my priorities quite a bit. I go out way less and I find that I’m more of a homebody and this hobby just dovetails into my lifestyle at this point. Also having a place like this with a great community is an amazing resource for creativity, insight, and inspiration! āœŒļø
  4. Looks really great so far and love the little dudes He’s definitely come a long way, but I do gotta say that people new to the hobby these days have far more resources than people starting out before the age of the internet. There’s also been a lot of innovation in tools and tricks that weren’t around a decade or so ago. I think community has a lot to do with newer builders compared to the lack of community back in the day. There’s also a certain amount of natural talent that some people have for learning a hobby or music or art. Some people just catch on to these things much faster than others
  5. @Papa Rat You're coming along very well. I'm still tempted to think you're a phony when you say that you've only been modeling for about a year or so, like you're having us all on. You demonstrate skill that people who've been doing models for a long time do not have. Heck, I know one young man online who has been building models for a long time. He slathers unthinned paint all over his models and lays down expensive aftermarket decals, then sends me pictures and asks me how I feel about them. He has no self-awareness. You, on the other hand, are doing a fantastic job with your model kits. OK, so I have a question for people who do 3D resin printing. I had a guy print out a figure of Rei from Evangelion for me and some of the parts have a waxy feel to them, as if maybe the UV curing process was cut short. The figure's body and head parts are fine, but the limbs have a weird texture to them. Do these parts need to air dry, sit under UV lamps a bit longer, or do they need to be washed off with alcohol or something?
  6. You could use the booster engines from both kits to make a special "orbital defender" version, with a pilot and RIO, and devise some "planet buster" multi-launchers for them. That... or a flying billboard for Budweiser.
  7. Getting closer. Still needs decals, detail paint, top coat, the usual…I’m excited to finish this up but I have to say that this build hasn’t been as fun as some of the old vintage stuff I have been doing. Regardless I’m learning a lot through the process. Maybe I’m learning in too hard on the highlight shading thing with my paint jobs? I am on the fence about it. A big thanks to @pengbuzzfor the heads up about pilot options. I reached out to @arbit for the digital pilot files. They are tiny tiny and work perfectly for this build. I had a blast painting them and they actually look half decent. ā™„ļø @derex3592Look! Got one of those stands you plugged awhile back. Super handy, thanks for the heads up. šŸ‘
  8. I was trying to be nice, but smeared works better.
  9. https://deadline.com/2025/09/graham-greene-dead-dances-with-wolves-wind-river-1236502962/ Thanks you for all iconics roles. As the greatest representative of his people. He will never be forgotten by those who admire him.
  10. Wow, that's some next-level cosplay. I'm not even a fan of the Ride Armor, but I certainly appreciate the culmination of talent and craftsmanship that this represents- just extraordinary!
  11. You're not wrong, Mike. I've long been a fan of MMC's work, and with this being my first glimpse at their all-in-one Constructicons, my bias is rewarded. This most certainly has to be the most challenging of combiners to do as an all-in-one given the amount of partsforming required on the original set and pretty much every set thereafter regardless of scale. MMC takes on the all-in-one challenge and I applaud them for it. If I didn't have so many life expenditures, or potentially pending ones, I think I'd be inclined to go in on this set to replace my old Toy World Constructor. Right now, I'm just looking forward to completing my Hasbro Devastator and I'll likely look at add-on kits for it to make improvements, so that'll be the extent of my Devastator expenditure for the foreseeable future. I'll enjoy this set vicariously via reviews, though. Cheers to those of you who get it, as I think you'll have a banger on your hands.
  12. Well I pre-ordered the VT-1. I've had it in mind to do a dio of the tent scene for years now. Plus I couldn't pass up those figures. Now I just gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with the two VT-1 fighters I have in my stash.
  13. More like smeared things together...
  14. Yesterday
  15. Yeah, not sure how all this is gonna play out.
  16. My thoughts exactly. Didn't pull the trigger on that one. But i definitely got the tv Q-Rau. But i can't help feel like I'm adding to a stash i have no idea when i'm gonna see . Also pre ordered the full armor MG ZZ and the hangar w leds.
  17. I watched episode 6 of this season. I finally enjoyed it. Maybe because the pompous Captain Pike was not in it mas much. Also it was nice seeing Kirk and his future crew together.
  18. Why would it be white? It usually looks more gray in the show. I really didn’t get a great look at them in the movie version though. i was thinking more like a few junkers got parts together from things in the Macross 2 universe and kinda slapped things together
  19. I really love the movie version and would also get at least one tv version. The only thing other than larger ships would be the gnerl fighter and I’d definitely get at least one of them
  20. I think my biggest gripe with the entire design is just what insane nonsense they made the lower legs into. Like... just why did they make them do that? And is it even necessary, or are they just really fond of showing off how many moving parts the legs have?
  21. Very excited to see Hasegawa continue their build out of the kits...the TV Quead should be fantastic! Such a strange offering for the VT-1 Gerwalk 'return to earth' mode from the movie, would never have guess that was in the queue. And really looking forward to the Mercy Rabbit box art for these, should be epic. We know the Nousjadeul-Ger has coming in 2026, where else are the going to go? Maybe some new Zentradi ships? A 1/4000 matching Nupetiet-Vergnitzs would be my #1.
  22. Wow, it took me more than a month before I completed my review of the Macross F 2025 concert. Anyway, it will be in 2 parts. I've also made a rough setup of the stage used in the concert for reference. During the telecast in our cinema, a black screen would swipe across the screen left to right and then back to the left, disrupting sometimes important scenes! It happened at every set intervals but at another cinema, it was different! The telecast was interrupted for a short time and the bottom of the screen has noise interference but no black screen swipes. Also , the camera director would failed to capture the dramatic ending of to a song when the singers would strike a pose! Instead if a close up or mid shot from the front, he would switch to a strange angle somewhere from the right side of the stage. Let’s hope it’s a different cut when it goes to the Blu-ray format!
  23. I appreciate a fresh set of eyes on this classic design, and as I watched that video it did sort of break my mind thinking 'the parts aren't supposed to do that' lol I sort of view it like a Mimic...where it looks human, but suddenly opens its mouth at the base of its neck to eat you. If I find one cheap enough I'll bite just for the weirdness of it. I feel they looked at the market full of all the other 'screen accurate' valks and made their own market. Really can't wait to see their interpretation of the Fast Packs. And they kept the 'Keep Clean', love it. My only real gripe is the landing gear length. It reminds me of the original Yamato 1/60 V1 prototypes from 2001. I thought that was the shortest landing gear I'd ever seen in a valk until now. But at least they made it white!! (hint hint Bandai)
  24. @VF-1A Grunt - Do it! It's a beautiful kit!
