Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well, I got my copies of Encyclopedia Macross: Valkyrie and Destroid today. Not a bad little collected edition, though as per the usual for these books the only beyond-series materials they're really looking at are the non-continuity FamilySoft games from the 90's (e.g. Skull Leader, Remember Me), the four main timeline in-continuity games (M3, VF-X, VF-X2, and 30), and Macross the Ride. Master File has leaked more into these books too. Now not only are they citing the VF-1 liquid fuel rocket engine power from there, they've also adopted both the VF-31AX and Sv-303 specs from there. -
Got my two copies today... an excellent collected edition. On a quick skim, little in the way of new information and there's some inconsistencies and errors copied from other books like the VF-19F/S engine thrust inconsistency from Macross Chronicle. "Cheyenne" is misspelled too. Master File continues to leak into official publications too, with several of the new additions being lifted from there.

At least Petey’s swinging with a Black Widow and keeping it within the same animal name species. 😅 Poor dude probably also shot his webbing prematurely.

Not even joking, I want to get a sheet of transparent red plastic and cut him out some epic shades.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures

Teaser for supposedly King Greyskull. I read a few write ups that it’s not actually King GreySkull the flesh as it’s just He-Man’s face used for the shot. -
Is that Nat, Yelena, or someone else snuggle-bunnying with Spidey? If it’s Yelena, I think we know why she was so depressed in Thunderbolts: . . . some of Peter’s depressing backstory rubbed off on her!

@Big s and @MKT Strange I didn`t think of those stuff, while I was doing this pic.

This is by far the most fun Mospeada toy I've ever had. And I mean by far.

@derex3592 That’s awesome! I need to build my Glaug soon. Instead I went straight for the TV Q-Rau and it’s an amazing kit too. It’s soooooo easy to “snap” together. I know I built the DYRL version but must have amnesia since I don’t remember it being so simple. Anyway, you are in for a treat when you get to yours. 👍 Test fit in about 3 hours. Started it before bed last night and finished it up a minute ago before I head off to have a ton of fun at the dentist. 🫠 Now I need to disassemble it and get to work on seams which there are many. For $140 I need to get this looking A+++ going all in on this one.

That’s a little more kinky than I was expecting

Yeah, hasegawa has definitely come a really long way in the last few years. I don’t feel all that impressed by their old VF-1, but it’s like they’ve been learning a lot of new tricks lately. If shipping wasn’t so expensive, I’d say it’s the perfect time to go all in on Macross models since there seems to be so much cool stuff lately.

That's SO COOL! -
I gotta say,, that kit sure looks the part! I kinda love it! Over here this morning I was up early and decided to see what was what on the Hasagawa GLAUG and put together the 8 red "toes" Gotta say, I'm EXTREMELY impressed. Damn, you don't even need glue unless you just want to, or paint, (of course I will eventually, but the parts separation is great) - You could just build, it, sand the sprue nubs, panel line it, flat coat it and call it a day honestly. It's on par with the best Bandai and Tamiya kits I've ever built. Bravo Hasagawa kits in 2025/2026!
