    ... honestly, I can't think of any. Macross is pretty good about establishing that anyone who jumps/falls into a Valkyrie's cockpit with the intent to fly it has at least some relevant training. Thinking back to all the major Macross titles, I don't think we've ever had a totally unqualified person jump into the cockpit in the manner that so often happens in Gundam.

    I doubt it would affect older stuff, but as far as the new series or other anime, then it could be a problem Maybe unfortunately, the animation budget would be way too high that way. Even at the height of the 80’s when there were tons of American Awsome shows, they were almost all actually animated either in Japan or some other Asian country to keep the costs down. I’m all for America giving animation a go again, but it’s definitely not gonna be something doable for a few years.

    Disney can now buy HG and produce their version of Robotech. Or buy BW and make their version of Macross. Whatever the outcome, it will be a defeat.

    Hondo Ohnaka, and it's not literal. More a habitual expression of exasperation (shared with the in-series characters). He's an incredibly flamboyant and theatrical pirate captain who debuted in Star Wars: the Clone Wars and managed to get on the wrong side of most of the major characters with his shenanigans. He was enough of a fan favorite that he got brought back for Star Wars: Rebels and is the host of the preshow at the Smuggler's Run ride at Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge. He's absolutely got the right level of flamboyant ham to consider a career as a talk show host.

    ...either that or fans can say bye-bye to Macross and anime in general on US streaming services...and that's just the Japanese anime stuff....I personally am not a consumer of anime or even Macross on D+ (I have all the shows on BD)....so if I have to subsidize D+ or any other streaming service to keep 'foreign' shows on their platforms, I will definitely be hitting the cancel button for several streamers...

    I am a long suffering fan waiting for a new game in the Door Door series as it was the first time i ever emulated a game (it was on a sketchy flash based emulator i found on the web when i was a young kid & i thought it was simply a game that was paying tribute to Hotel Mario) here's a link to a Video about Door Door in case any of you arecurious about Enix's first game they made for a Nintendo system

    Work is underway on the IMAI 1/48 scale Orguss M.Lover Lieea. I’m currently modifying the rear vents to be closer to the animation artwork. This is my first foray into using Milliput…I think I like it? I roughed in the area I wanted to change and will dial it in tomorrow when it hardens.

    I guess that someone had to do it. Overall, I think it’s a really great album, even though the first track is a bit too close to being a Journey song. Strangely, for having a rather dark haunting look this album cycle, they’ve released their happiest sounding album. Very joyful and full of familiar sounds, yet sounding like something totally unheard of at the same time. The song structures are very interesting and lots of bass is a good thing.

    I don’t know which character you’re talking about, but I don’t think I want to watch that happen. But I guess someone has to be with Hondo physically or there wouldn’t be any baby hondos

    This kind of makes me think it was faulty from the start, giving you all the resistance at first, and then over time the mechanism has just failed.

    I kinda get a feeling that the red gundam may have been a trigger to her newtype abilities, but the initial activation may have been triggered by her emotional determination. She seems to want it more while the original pilot failed possibly by not being as strongly motivated. Newtypes are weird

    It’s a 100% mark up on China, but Japan would probably fall under their other foreign tariffs for films. But I really don’t know how all this would work on something that isn’t physical, like a toy from a different country. A lot of the tariff stuff seems very up in the air, more like a concept and I don’t think that the majority in our government (doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum) understand that anime doesn’t come from America and that the vast majority of animation is done overseas. I also don’t know if they’d consider stuff already released here free of the tariffs or how they’d really enforce something that could be sent over digitally. I also don’t really know what the effect of a movie trade war would be. Some of our films have to be altered to be shown in other world markets, like China and they could just start outright banning our films altogether. Our big budget films might need to make all their money back from U.S. box offices if things get really rough and pretty much every comic book movie would never make their money back. Same could be possible with streaming. Like if Netflix couldn’t get that last season of Stranger Things out to foreign countries.

    I have a feeling that Arii just f***** up the sculpt on the tucked in head. Then again they could’ve tried sneaking something in that they thought no one would notice, but I’m pretty sure they messed up. they may not have had the best of art to go on and just figured it was good enough. Some of the box arts looked a bit funky at the time as well. Arii wasn’t always the best at details or proportions. I’m still surprised at the overall appearance of their fighter kit in comparison to the oddities on the fighter and gerwalk kits
