What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Seto Kaiba replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Is it? Genuinely asking. The folks I know who go camping inevitably pair camping with other outdoor activities like birdwatching, hiking, caving, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hunting, and the like. I've never encountered a camping enthusiast whose idea of camping is just "pitch a tent and get sh*tfaced". Even the campers in horror movies do more than that with their time outdoors (excl. getting chased and/or killed). Gen's cooler's like a 30+ can affair and he's emptying that sucker in a single sitting. -

@tekering Thanks so much! When moments present themselves to me like in this case where my own negligence “losing a part” offers me an opportunity to learn how to make something I can’t say it’s all that bad in the end. Lol. I’m blown away! Beautiful work and such a beefy build at that. I think you mentioned being super busy in preparation for a macross event. 40th anniversary if I remember correctly? I imagine the SDF-1 will be on display? If you have time please share more when the event happens and I also love seeing all the progress you make along the way. Oh and I’m digging your tackle box(s) of figure parts. That’s amazing! Edit* I guess it’s the 43rd anniversary of Macross

I feel whale blood customs coming.

Wow, at this rate PLAMAX can put out the VF-5000 before Arcadia ever could.... unthinkable LOL

I still think there's going to be an international release sometime soon (ish). That has to be why this was such a bizarre limited release right?

Yup, same here. I moved on with my life pretty quickly, though. Plenty of other things I can spend that money on.

That's a fabulous way to demonstrate your work, and it's all the more impressive as a result. I think I'll try the same: The tiny conning towers on these were almost absent from the 3D models, and pretty much had to be scratchbuilt to approximate the line art. Now, onto the battlefortress itself... Yeah, you want something with a lid. I like toolboxes myself... I've been disassembling Star Wars figures for decades, and find this to be an effective way of organizing parts for customs. Regardless of how you do it, though, you've already got the most important element: the ingenuity and skill required to scratchbuild the parts you've lost. Zeta Gundam had far better production values, mecha designs and music, but the dialogue and character motivations were often baffling... especially among the women, yeah. 🤨

Pretty cool stuff coming up. I wish these were articulated versions though. I remember a kondo style Goblin years back that was a full action resin kit and I just didn’t have the cash for it back then. May have been a B-club or kotobukiya kit. But I’ve always wished those designs were in plastic and articulated maybe one day

Isn’t this a basic for camping. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of sober camping. Do sober people even go camping or fishing? -
I agree! I just hope that BBTS has this out in customers hands by November. I know it is released in Japan on October 25th, but with the slow boat shipping, I hope it makes it in time! Twich

It makes eBay pricing seem more reasonable.

On the subject of "the VF-24 as a VF-25 with different wings", it reminded me of this custom kit by VF-1Riders that they dubbed "VF-25 Messiah Legacy". The resemblance really is uncanny.

AoA Cyke and Weapon X are due out the 25th. Rogue is very likely delayed until December now.
-
Makes sense since those are missing on the YF-24 image. I'm sold! 😉 Another minor update. Wings and wing roots completed, with cuts in place for transformation. Threw a temporary texture on based on one of the M30 25A skins to be able to see if anything is warped. Nose and canopy will be the next areas of focus.

Same boat. Same opinion.

Same here. Email this morning canceling my TREAD and my (2nd blue) Legioss. I still have a TREAD on order with BBTS, but I'm bummed to be missing out on having more display options, and was excitedly expecting delivery tomorrow.

Honestly, at this point it seems like every character in Solo Camping for Two is an alcoholic and is using (solo) camping as a cover for their drinking problem. -
Or at least till they start charging. I got a pretty healthy stash in there now with a few Macross kits an MA k double pack of afs armors, some Moderoid Tekkaman and that beautiful upcoming Queadluun Rau. I don’t know how much shipping will be, but I also don’t know how much the eventual charges will be if I wait past their deadline. this tariff thing needs to end

Did a quick check to have my private warehouse shipped and it was going to cost $300+ yikes. I guess my stash lives in the warehouse indefinitely

Well, if you take Master File's word for it they do a LOT of computer modeling and virtual testing before they ever move on to a physical test article. Partly because of how hard it is to actually physically deconstruct and recycle the functionally graded composite materials used in VF and warship construction. They do have enormous manufacturing muscle with dozens of factory satellites and factory ships though, so building everything is way way faster. Mass production of the F-22 took about 15 years to get to 195 aircraft. The Macross Frontier fleet ran out 156 VF-19EFs, with multiple variants including recon and command models, in about a year. Said "bulb feature" is probably the same kind of composite sensor found on the noses of other Shinsei Industry Valkyries like the VF-19. The VF-25 and VF-27 have similar types of composite sensors, but they sit higher up on the nose. (The little blue panels seen here)

Where are these supposed to be applied? The arm stickers are already on the main VF-1J sticker sheet. Does anyone know where this set below comes from? Why would there be no UNSPACY kites on the Hikaru 1J sticker sheet? A pit should be mandatory as they are placed on either side of the cockpit. Kites do appear on the Roy sticker sheet. For the same cockpit application, as seen in the sheet above.
