  1. Past hour
  2. Tron v 2.0, I would say. Just like Windows versions function in a similar manner but don't necessarily look alike.
  3. *jealousy going on right here* Seriously, nice job!! I'd love to do that to a 1/55 someday! Meantime: next build coming up: Stay tuned...
  4. Secrets of the Silent Witch had a pretty decent episode today.
  5. If you insist. 😉 Starts around here and continues across the next few pages. Also made some racer schemes, a Pixie Squad version of the 25, and then wandered off into some Delta alternate liveries. Some cool stuff by others posted there as well.
  6. First video review of the Bloodsucker....👍🏻
  7. At the very least, link it here. It's definitely on topic!
  8. Caught the first of the new episodes last night - Part II of "Hegemony" - and I have to say I still hate what Strange New Worlds has done to the Gorn.
  9. Silent Witch was okay today. But Monica and her speaking issues can get a bit annoying.
  10. Today
  11. Thanks, the teal scheme has always appealed to me, Frontier fleet has a good sense of style. I won't spam it here, but I made battroid versions of the scheme and played with a number of other imagined liveries down in the Fan Works section under the "3D Collections" thread, if anyone's interested. My stuff starts around page 4, and some others have posted cool stuff there as well.
  12. Maybe I’m a freak, but I like the whole putty, sand, prime, sand, putty, prime, paint loop. It just feels good once it all comes together. I work it like a meditation. Maybe having a kid has honed my ability to be patient and work patiently? Lol
  13. Macross II: Lovers Again was another one where the members of the main cast in the military all use the same model. Possibly the most strict example, since the only "ace custom" variation is a special gunpod on Nex's machine rather than any performance differences. It is rather sad that we don't get to stick around and see emigrant governments actually adopt their respective 5th Generation machines, though they do get acknowledged here and there in novelizations and games and manga and the like. (It's also worth remembering that all of Macross runs on broad strokes continuity, so there isn't any such thing as "unambiguous" canon anyway.) There's definitely an element of "the hero must have a distinct machine" that I'm sure the toy partners enforce... though as of Absolute Live!!!!!! even they seem to be dialing it back somewhat and making the ace custom machines more closely resemble the production ones. (That might have something to do with fans thinking the VF-31A looks better, too.) That said, I think the tendency to have the protagonists equipped with the latest and greatest VF ahead of the actual military is pretty silly. It kind of worked in Frontier, because the story's theme was heavily about abuse of corporate power and influence and SMS's parent company more or less ruled the titular fleet indirectly through sheer financial power and even SMS's staff were in a way dehumanized as disposable. Delta doesn't do as good of a job with it, since the whole premise is lazily copied from Frontier even though Xaos is not anywhere near as wealthy or influential as SMS or its parent company. I get the feeling Macross's creators have started to cool on the idea of PMCs too, since the materials for the second movie increasingly depict Xaos as incompetent and other PMCs as criminal. Hopefully once we get away from PMC protagonists we'll see more mass production machines getting to shine. NGL, that kinda rocks. I'd buy that in a DX. We've gotten a couple New UN Forces color schemes for the VF-25 thus far. The two main ones that show up most often are essentially the same as Alto's VF-25F and the generic SMS VF-25A but with New UN Forces markings instead of SMS ones. There's also the unlockable New Game+ colors for Havamal in Macross 30.

  15. more from Ox's twitter-posting:
  16. Definitely. The greatest thing about him was that he wasn’t so centered on himself and didn’t push to have his face shown without the helmet. I wish more comic character actors had that going for them, but they usually have to have their face shown too much. Dredd found a perfect way to have the character be the character without background or relying on scenes of his personal life, just Dredd from start to finish. Probably also the best example of how to do a reboot ever
  17. Pretty much the same response I had. I really didn’t care much about the first movie. I didn’t hate, just felt meh about it. Might check this one out though
  18. But then everyone is gonna wonder about what’s going on with the back half in the other room, and the people I know have horrible imaginations
  19. Doing a bit of stippling to find surface issues. There is a lot of work to be done here.
  20. Yes, the last one was a Crossfield saucer section mixed with my own original design for episode 1 of the second season where there was a rogue fraction building their own "look-alike" Federation Starship to start a war. This was an initial design option, we ended up with an inverted secondary hull and downward nacelles version in the actual episode and there was actually a TrekYards video discussing it and an article talking about how this fixes so many things wrong with Discovery :P!!! (they asked me to work years ago on Discovery but I refused) https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/did-star-trek-just-fix-discoverys-biggest-mistake.html I wished they had done a little research and asked me about the design instead of guessing on their own articles. The script called that we were to shoot the scenes on the Discovery Set (for budget they didn't want to build a new ship interior for just 1 episode) so they scripted a call out that it looks like a Crossfield class (not my favourite saucer design) but I had to follow script! I'm glad they took an older option and made it real/canon in the opening sequence now.
  21. Just got the email too. Looks like I’m waking up the moogle avatar in about two weeks. . . . And the supplies have already been acquired and ready to mobilize after I spend about an hour futzing with the big boy.
  22. Amazon Japan updated the Tread’s release date. [I don’t recall seeing this update posted here.]

    My Macross books

  24. Did a quick build this morning. I am not really into figurines anymore, but my kid lives Basara. So I got the minimum factory one. The eye decals are super tiny. I am glad I got them aligned to an acceptable degree. My kid was especially interested in the guitar. It is a really straight forward build. No snap-fit though. You need glue. I was too lazy to paint and my kid to impatient for paint, so it is a „Vanilla“ build. The sprues afterwards. Finished model. And… next up? @Thom uhm… well. Mhmm… *professional head scratching commences* @Papa Rat thanks!
  25. Congrats on a remodel. House updates never end. My wife has a list on our fridge with everything we need to work on and it feels great when we get to cross off a completed project. A basement remodel is next. Can’t wait! I need to buy a proper display case eventually. My completed builds are stacking up and sadly live in their boxes and never see the light of day 😔 I’m excited and intrigued about what you are going to share. Look forward to it. 👍
