As soon as I can get me some top coat, it will be done. It’m just doing panel lining and the decals on that guy
-
@Big s @derex3592 Wow, those are both great looking kits! I want to see the sickie built up and that Falcon looks spicy 😬
-
Fortunately, swapping the shoulders is easy and takes less than 10 minutes. Just need to unscrew 2 screws per bicep which are easily accessible.

If anyone has 3 extra bills laying around......best price I've seen in a while for the Perfect Grade Falcon https://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Perfect-Grade-Millennium-Falcon/dp/B073ZRGX6T/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=nwKBC&content-id=amzn1.sym.7353e935-710e-4162-bbba-1f3ae9f93ec0&pf_rd_p=7353e935-710e-4162-bbba-1f3ae9f93ec0&pf_rd_r=HZJ9SSN9EAD02ENNNYPQ&pd_rd_wg=F7Ejy&pd_rd_r=ef684181-e8c6-4b50-8faf-2b321ba17eda&ref_=pd_hp_d_atf_dealz_cid&th=1

Yeah, I think the PG-13 rating will impact the dialog which I think was always an important and humorous part of the previous films too.

A PG-13 rating doesn't deter me, I still think it looks great and me and a couple buddies grabbed IMAX tickets last night. That said, PG-13 is certainly disappointing, especially after Prey being rated R and going hard on the violence and gore.

I didn’t notice that, that sucks. I’ll definitely stay home then.

And its rated PG-13... which I'm not surprised about with the trailers.

‘Heat 2’ Is On: Michael Mann Crime Drama
electric indigo replied to davidwhangchoi's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Coincidentally, I'm just watching Mann's 1981 neo-noir classic and Proto-Heat movie "Thief". James Caan's hard working criminal, rain-soaked night streets and Tangerine Dream's memerizing soundtrack still hit hard. The streaming version has excellent picture quality. -
I suspected it had something to do with the patterns and colors as well. Thanks for explaining it better. But I also agree with Chronocidal's comment about the nosecone hips. Having the additional bulk in that area makes the legs look shorter and thus, not as long and lanky.

Some of the translated comments on this Tamashii-Nations' own tweet were at least just a bit salty... https://twitter.com/t_features/status/1973245276841533522

Been hearing that the looks and sounds are great, but the acting and script are terrible. Basically a pretty waste of money and should just wait for D+ or just skip it altogether

Oh, it’s Awsome and surprisingly cheap most of the time. Basically a larger real grade kit with inner frame and waterslide decals and color separated parts, but for ten to twenty bucks depending on where you find it. A total bargain. It does have warnings about solvent based paints, but I found that a quick top coat seems to protect it well enough, just ran out after the inner frame assembly and need to get some more before adding decals. A great kit for a lazy build since everything is already in the proper colors

I think all of the Revival-27 are affected with the misassembly issue. Bandai already admitted it's a factory fault. Anecdotally, I have not come across any Revival-27 jp-tweet that didn't have the misassembly issue. If you reside in japan, Bandai will fix the issue if you send the item to them. However, the repair time will be at least three months. The offer is not applicable to both resellers and reseller buyers Yay or something...

Bandai cost-cutting logic... glue/lock-down leg missile bay option make extra shoulders with fins coz making just the fins movable is WTFBANDAI&#$(&^#&$?! /facepalm

Still haven't watched so never realized that was a thing. Googled around to check. Now it makes sense. My googling has revealed an old thread on here with an image that proves the gunpod is wrong though. It's supposed to also have a white version of the Kai's speaker launcher rather than the regular gunpod lol

That kit looks sickie! Lol Thanks a bunch for the info.

I think it's the camera angle, and the head design. 171 is taken slightly top down, so it's proportions are squatted, and the chest looks lower than it really is. The head and its colors are blended into the ear lasers, which gives it a photogenic V shaped silhouette that follows how the chest also tapers together towards the front. 17S is taken level with the waist. That makes the chest look as wide and thin as it really is, and looks like it hangs high up on the skinny torso. The legs' full lankiness are exposed by the direct flat angle. The head is cylindrical and silver, which stands out like a soda can, while the lasers are dark with no highlights so they blend in to the back side parts and main body, making them contribute little to the silhouette and proportions of the head. Overall it it makes the head look too narrow for how wide the chest is, and the chest too wide for those legs. It's basically a "V" shape vs a "t" shaped silhouette. Only one of them looks like an angry robot.

I mean the VF-19P uses traditional style micro missile ports in the lower legs to launch it's micro missiles, rather than the opening bay door that the VF-19Kai/F/S use. So technically it's correct for the leg doors not to open on the VF-19P HMR. I was actually quite impressed that Bandai got this detail correct on the VF-19P HMR.

I don't have mine yet, but if I'm not mistaken, you just need to flip one wing up at the wing root hinge and drop that leg at the intake/thigh. You've already got it out of the box, so it shouldn't be much more work to take a peek. You just need to see the top of the "101" and the corner that it should/shouldn't align with. This is assuming there really aren't any double same sided shoulders in circulation.

Poly caps don’t hold up as well on the bigger kits like master grades and they’ve kinda switched to a styrene that’s more like ABS that holds up better. a lot of the Chinese kits are all ABS, like my Iron Sickie🤮. I still love that they’ve rereleased that kit a few times and haven’t corrected that awesome typo It does get a bit more risky with lacquer thinners though.Seen a few people online getting cracks on unpainted kits when using panel liners and that really wasn’t a thing with the older styrene. Gotta at least top coat kits these days.

Thank you for your insights and opinion as always. With that, then I may be learning towards the Hi-Metal ones. I just wish they had a metal siren version. I love that one! Sad that we can't get a good perfect transformation screen accurate one. Funny. I used to write Macross II off, but you were the one here and on the old robotech boards, that made me appreciate it and in the end love it more. Thanks again Seto, appreciate you.
