  2. @VF-1A Grunt - Do it! It's a beautiful kit!
  3. Today
  4. What Peng said; also if you have a super glue spill you can use Debonder to remove it without damaging the plastic. It will remove paint also but you can repaint the area. Check for it at your LHS, Amazon etc.
  5. I built one of the Bandai rereleases of that kit the first round a while back and still have fond memories of it. There appears to be more surface details on the old kit since it’s based more on the detailed art rather than the tv line art and show appearance. Although I kinda wish it had that extra surface detailyou can see the tv one is much smoother like the new kit, but most of the extra detail would just take a bit of thin plastic sheet. The added venting stuff would be a bit more difficult though
  6. I’m onboard for the Queadlunn-Rau. The old IMAI kit was my very first model kit build and what got me into this hobby last year and I’m so excited to get a new “more accurate “ version in the mix.
  7. The standee and patch can now be added to an existing backing: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/madoverlord/macross-ii-lovers-again-alus-edition/posts/4472714?ref=ksr_email_mktg_auto_backer_project_update_registered_users
  8. I personally just really like the black and green, but often I do like the grunts
  9. Thanks, I’ll just order one kit for now. I may just do it in the standard colors regardless. I’ve never been a huge fan of the “hero” schemes because I like the generic and squadron schemes to represent regular pilots in the series. I’m guessing that if they offer the standard version, it will just have the blank faceplate like the movie version.
  10. If we want, we could imagine this as a heavily modified/updated version of the VF-1 series that is still active into the Frontier era. These were still used as trainers, but I can see this as a still viable combat version.
  11. They’re the same other than color, although you may want to wait a bit and see if they do the standard color version with a slightly different pilot, but it would only be very slightly different if anything
  12. That looks fantastic so far! I have that kit, still unopened in the box. I've never even looked at the parts. I didn't think my modeling skills were up to the challenge when I bought it years ago, so I've been putting off doing anything with it. I did get a set of canopies from member Goodman Models a couple years ago. Maybe it's time to open the kit and at least see if all the parts are intact!
  13. Got mine a week ago from Amazon Japan. First time seeing one IRL; it’s a lot smaller and more delicate (e.g., see vertical stabilizers) than I expected, but it’s not exactly fiddly. And I’m grateful for that.
  14. Very cool, I'm glad to see both of these new models. It's interesting how the VT-1 product description says, "The kit is composed of parts that allow you to choose between the Gerwalk Fighter and the Gerwalk." I assume that means it will include the arms tucked in for Fighter mode as shown in the product artwork or the arms extended out like normal Gerwalk mode (which I don't think was ever shown in the movie). It was always interesting to me how it was portrayed in the movie, that Hikaru only extended the legs when they landed and never fully transformed it into Gerwalk mode. I don't know much about the Queadluun Rau appeared in the TV series and only really have the Macross Mecha Manual to reference. It doesn't appear to me that the standard Queadluun Rau has any detail differences vs. Millia's. Here's the "Standard Battle Colors" version from the Macross Mecha Manual. I'm considering ordering two kits so I can do one in this color scheme as a "wingman."
  15. Got my Riobot Tread today from Bombusbee. Very happy with it. Had a hard time finding one that wasn’t like almost 500 euro to ship to The Netherlands. It just showed up in stock one day with a price of just 273 euro. I couldn’t believe it but pressed buy now immediately. Thank god I didn’t wait, were gone pretty soon after that.
  16. Looking at the connectors for the shoulders and legs (especially in Gerwalk and Batroid modes), I wouldn't count on it retaining much stability. Exhibit A: Try to "woosh" that around your room, and it's going to start spewing more parts than a Deep South pickup truck after Junior dun' tried to fit'er with' nitrous oxide for that "extra special punch"! O.o
  17. Here’s the description for the Queadluun Rau from hobby searchI’m just really glad it seems they changed up the necessary stuff rather than just doing what they did with the Macross kit
  18. Everything listed is up for preorder, I checked an hour ago and they weren’t there, but they’re up now. I ordered the Queadluun Rau and looks like November release, but not sure how shipping and such will go down by then
  19. I don't have a 3d printer so can't provide you any details on which types/filament of material to use. As for the removal, these may maybe of service Veef's actual video done 13 years ago I take it that a fair chunk of us here on these threads are not mechanically skilled?
  20. man! welcome back!!! where have you been? Good to see you're still on MW
  21. Yes, I saw that Minmay China dress figure too! Unless I'm mistaken, that's from Mikimoto's Macross manga which essentially took the story of the TV show and matched it with the visuals of the movie. "Macross the First" I think it's called. I have all the books in Japanese, but it'd be great if it could be published in English.
  22. I guess there’s also a 1/12 resin figure to add to the hasegawa list of upcoming goodies
  23. Thanks for the update, I feel relieved now. Hopefully they do a full resin figure of her like they did the movie version. As far as the Glaug, I really don’t know other than maybe the figure would look too small, but then why bother with a cockpit. Maybe by the time a tv Nousjadeul Ger happens, they’ll give him a chance
  24. Hey, I just checked again and I take it back. I just saw a lack of a figure and didn't read it. However, it says specifically TV版ミリアフィギュア in the advertising graphic. D'oh! Additionally, in the product description it says: ミリア・ファリーナのフィギュア原型は太郎もちこみ 氏が担当。/ The Millia Farina figure prototype was created by Taro Mochikomi. In the graphic the Japanese says that it only features the upper half of Millia's body is included, but the kit we already got is like that anyway. I actually bought mine in July when a seller on Rakuten had it on a killer sale, with free shipping. I only paid something like 3800 yen with free shipping. I couldn't refuse! So scratch out my theory that there may be some licensing clause which prevents them from doing non-DYRL stuff. So if that's the case, why did they recreate a great cockpit for the Glaug but no Kamjin figure? Has anyone made an STL file Kamjin for 3D printing?
  25. I'll have to experience one in hand to know, but the chunkiness screamed 1/55 playability or better. If it meets or exceeds that, then that's its selling point; not its appearance.
  26. I didn’t know people ate popcorn at church. I never go, so I guess I wouldn’t know
