  2. Astrotrain is such a disappointment. Of all the new reveals, he was the one I was most looking forward to, especially after the terrible Siege figure. I was hoping for nice clean alt modes and a good looking bot mode, but this new fig is so encumbered by inelegant kibble as well as yet another poorly executed shuttle mode. How is it that Takara was able to deliver fairly clean alts and a nice-looking robot mode in 1985 and yet, with all the experience gained over the last 40 years, produce something this bad?
  3. Its a good that Takara-Tomy are producing it, since over Three decades and half I always wanted one, the only Legioss I had was IMAI kit, back in late 80s. However I`ll keep following for future variations. I am sure they`ll make crossover with the TFs.
  4. I'm completely blown away by how fast the Omega has sold out pretty much everywhere. I guess the desire/demand for Legioss toys, especially one at this level of affordability and playability, is far beyond what I anticipated. I figured these things would linger a bit. I would have considered going in on a Delta instead, as I like the green color scheme and the AWACs aspect, but I'm not at all fond of the wing design (too skinny and I don't like the big unsightly beavertails at the inboard trailing edges). I don't like the lance gun design either (it would've been much cooler if the lance splayed open like Michael's sniper rifle in Macross: Frontier). Anyway, given how well this thing is selling, I'm hoping TT and Toyrise will do a reissue at some point for those of us slow on the trigger. Thus far, I only own a copy of Sentinel's Eta and I have a copy of the Pose+ Eta preordered so I may try to jump on either Toyrise's Iota or the Zeta when they release, even though the Eta's my favorite color scheme. I'm hoping the Pose+ turns out to be a fairly easy toy to manipulate and transform. It's a pricey beast, and along with all the detailed interior stuff, ease of playability seems to be one of their foot stomp points as well. My first issue Sentinel Eta, with its super tight shoulder joints, small-fidgety nature, and loose ankle joints isn't the most accommodating toy in-hand. It's beautiful and I love it, but it's just not much fun to handle and I'm hoping the Pose+ will be. The Toyrise Legioss offers a playable toy, too, and while I chose the Pose+ over Toyrise, I'm thinking I might have to go in on at least one of their Legioss variants just for the fun factor it offers. I'm looking forward to in-hand reviews of it. Congrats to all who managed to snag copies before they were sold out.
  5. It’s not the shape but the overall length. Two hoses are joined together in the ditch of the arm opposite side of elbow if that makes sense. Each hose runs down forearm to two connection points on either side of wrist. One reaches, the other is 1mm shy of the connection. I’m shaving away at the connection point where the two hoses are joined together. It’s getting me very close. Just a little more and I hope it will do the trick. Some trepidation in removing too much so I’m going slow I’ll work on it more after work tonight Also considered altering the angle of the wrist to a more straight position but that may mess up the other hose that’s actually connecting no problem lol
  6. Is it because of the curve of the hose piece? If it is, you can heat up the part with hot water or a blow dryer to fit the form and once it gets to the desired shape, dip it in ice water to hold the shape so it doesn’t try and warp back.
  7. don't forget the part where they release dyrl fast packs with all of skull squadron but only ever release a hikaru 1S and a kakizaki 1A and released tv roy 3 times
  8. I was eyeing this site everyday since you mentioned this and one finally showed up. Grabbed it for around $24 USD. Thanks for the tip!
  9. @ThomYeah it’s wild how much detail it has. I’m really excited to see what I can do with it. (= Late night, but I just finished up removing all the gates from the pieces and test fit was pretty good. One side of a double hose piece that goes in the right forearm was having a hard time reaching a connection point. I think I’ll be able to remove some material, tweak it a bit and it should have a little more space to bridge the small gap. Or at least that’s the plan. Most everything is just blue tacked together right now and I’ll start to pin tomorrow if I have time. I’m nervous to start drilling into this. Some of the pieces are very thin/small. Never done this process but nothing to it but to do it I guess.

    Hi-Metal R

Ok third post of this! Hopefully it's in the correct thread this time? 🤔 Transformation guide for the Bandai VF-19 by our helpful guide @jenius 😉
  11. Dang! Sorry not really familiar with the series! and it was the first thread that didn't say Yamato in it! 🫢
  12. Thank you but that belongs in the Hi-Metal R thread. I'll probably be moving on to DX VF-19Kai material in a few weeks.
  13. Toyrise is merely an imprint of TakaraTomy. They've been manufacturing transformable toys for nearly 50 years, and control a large segment of the Asian toy market. They can well afford to experiment with unorthodox designs. 😋
  14. I doubt Japanese law allows multiple companies to produce the same products, at the same scale, from the same IP. Otherwise, it would probably happen a lot more. 😉
  15. Don’t forget that Kotobukiya Hannibal at 1/72 as their only humanoid entry. Then there’s all the random vehicles at all kinds of scales I think their track record is pretty bad with the franchise, this may be just a one off, or there may be a variant. But I wouldn’t keep your hopes up. But at least it’ll keep the trash bag buddy some company
  16. Looks pretty cool, but kinda weird they went with 1/48. They usually do something more like a smaller scale for RG kits to be closer to hg size. I think the mg ones were 1/35 if I’m not mistaken and the kit they did for the live action trash bag joint kit was 1/48 and I think their old kits were 1/72, but my memory is a little fuzzy on these. Looks like they’re doing the hard plastic joints on this one rather than trash bags. Overall I think it looks better than the render for the actual upcoming show or movie or whatever. I think that one made the legs look too straight and dull, while this kinda gets the roundness back

  18. Nice, 1/48 is a good scale for Patlabor that I can get behind and the RG kit looks like a fun build.
  19. oooh new Bandai RG 1/48 Ingram plus It looks great. Just kinda frustrated that everyone currently making patalbor are doing them in different scales XD Good Smile Moderoid is 1/60 Aoshima ACKs is 1/43 Kaiyodo Artpla and Threezero Robodou are 1/35 Now Bandai RG at 1/48 Also I pray Bandai doesn't ditch the line after only 1 or 2 releases. oh wait who am I kiddin ☠️

    1/55's revisited

We're practically neighbors, I could swing by :). It's looking absolutely glorious.

    1/55's revisited

Maybe when you finish this one, you wrap it up and send it off to @jenius for one of his toy reviews! It would be great seeing this in HD video going through all the improvements over the base 1/55.

    1/55's revisited

2.0? I'd "Tanya Harding" everyone here and their grandmother to be first in line...so long as the modifications and updates preserve the spirit and build quality of the original. I'm really looking forward to the "missing link" VF-1J to be released this year.
  23. What if there was an actual 1/55 v2.0 produced today?
  24. lol Metal Structure VF-1J Hikaru $1000 USD optional missiles $150 Fast packs $300
