  1. @joscasle I applaud the work and the result. Well done!
  2. I'm assuming the figure is 'home made,' but I'd be happy to be wrong.
  3. Same thought I've had for years. It was a new-fangle thing, but it's not sustainable over the long term, esp with prices that always go up. A few years down the road and what was affordable enough for three or four services now equates to just one in some instances. And then you get the 'bundling' to try and keep it affordable, and eventually you are back to cable-style format, only on-line. I guess it could be just seen as the 'natural' progression/migration from cable to on-line, and certainly done in one of the more expensive ways possible (for the consumer, of course...)
  4. Just heard that. Excited to hear PJ getting back into it. Maybe this will urge Amazon to 'up' their game. Although, I'm not really interested in a Gollum movie. To me, it would seem like his story is done, and he was never a popular character to me anyway. More interested to know what the next one after is going to be about.
  5. I thought that was the one Cora had dropped, which had the hilt wrapped. True. We see others using the same type swords without the self-mutilation. My view is that it a full commitment to the 'mission.' Succeed or die, or maybe succeed and die. Once done there is no turning back.
  6. Caught up to Episode 6... and it's not as bad as least season. More than a few good episodes in there. Still too many heart-to-heart chats happening at the drop of a hat. 'Yes, there's this big emergency and I need to access this EPS conduit to boost more power to comms - but did you want to talk about your feelings..?' Time and place, people, time and place... I'm really liking the inclusion of Callum Rennie, and Wilson Cruz did pretty good when he hosted the symbiot's conscience. It was like watching a completely different character. And the ISS Enterprise! That was a good one. Makes me think they'll refurbish her like they did Discovery, then I imagined her with 'floating' nacelles and shivered in dread. There's this one scene where Rayner and Michael are staring out at Discovery and he called the ship beautiful. I had to pause and shake my head. Oh, hella no! The one thing really missing (other than an ending that won't trip over itself) is more Detmer. that lady can be on screen All. Day. Long!
  7. To me, her cutting off her own arms in order to use them, signified a total commitment to the warrior past of her now dead people, revenge being a driving force in this case. Unlike those other swords, and the symbology they represent, she can never lay them down. She was basically upon that path of revenge unto death. To me that came off as very 'samurai.'
  8. Nice seeing the Ginga! Hope she survives. For the first time noticing that she is BBY-03, whereas Yamato is BBY-01. What is -02..?
  9. Watched Rebel Moon 2, and it was not bad. I know the popular approach is to deride it into the dirt for, reasons, but it was actually alright. Yes, I did fast forward through the loooooong and slooooooow harvest montage, but it got better once the action started up. Actually, I think more time could/should have been spent on the mythical aspects of the Princess than on the harvest or any worry about Noble's mental state. Since he came across as just as unstable before Kora killed him the first time, there seemed little reason to worry or waste screen time. Which, again, should have been better spent exploring the history of the Princess and where her abilities were thought to have come from. I mean, c'mon, she can bring things back to life and died with a mystical light pouring out of her! Give us more of that! Anyway, still don't like the ships. Ugly, bulbous things that look like potatoes and, apparently, run on coal!? Or a coal-like substance that somehow feeds into a massive 'statue' of a woman in bondage..? Huh..? Some weird design choices there. The only ships I did like were the Rebel's one-man fighters. I'd take a model of those, or at least a gimmicky toy like the drop-ship/popcorn bowl. Do like the power swords too! Those are cool! And apparently keyed to a bearer, seeing how Kora had to wrap the hilt of the one she used to keep from burning her hand. But, good action and passable story. The character were fleshed out a little more, enough to feel for some of their deaths at least, though to have Kora skip telling them who she was in their 'bonding over hardships' scene and just to resolve that with an 'we already knew' non-twist that went nowhere seemed like just another waste of screen time. That being said, if Snyder does do the third one, I'll watch.
  10. I like the Minnions, but I hope there is more Gru and kids in it than that.
