  1. Makes sense, if they couldn't come out on their own that someone on the outside would have to do it.
  2. @Urashiman, Says he's 'inferior,' but then makes that! Yeah, right!!
  3. Finished season five of Unforgotten, and not ashamed the say I got a little teary-eyed there.😢Really good series. I have to see about season six now, and hope that they make another past that, as the creator has said he would probably be leaving the series. That makes its further future uncertain. Sad, but maybe not a surprise seeing how he has written every single episode for all six seasons! After that, I started Patience, another British procedural crime series. This one centers on an autistic young woman who ends up helping the local police solve crimes. Not as good as Broadchurch or Unforgotten, but entertaining for the character interactions. A down-side is that it seems the police were not able to solve any crimes until she showed up, but the portrayal of the main character is well done, IMO, esp as the actress actually has Autism. One more episode to go this season and the last episode finally had a satisfactory punch to it. Then it was onto Astrid et Raphaëlle, which is actually the original French series Patience is based on. Gave it a shot out of curiosity and found myself really liking it. Actually better than Patience in some ways, as it shows more of the police angle, which really helps to flesh out the investigations as more than just the main character stepping. This version, Astrid, is also more socially disabled than the Patience-version, and I don't know how accurate it is, but I like too. Looks like I'll be watching both...
  4. I'ma gonna need a model of that spaceship, STAT!!
  5. So much this! Yes, Superman is an 87 year old property and it will be subject to change over time, but that was unneeded. Previous movies... I almost walked out too @pengbuzz, not just for that alone, but I figured I'd paid my ticket anyway and was looking forward to seeing Supergirl... which it turns out, I needn't have waited for anyway... Gunn did good with Guardians of the Galaxy. The mix of comedy and gag-shtick worked very well in that series, especially as it was not as well known, but not Superman. For me, they come from two completely, tonally different perspectives. What worked for GotG should have stayed there. Maybe I am 'romanticizing' it too much, but I've always felt Superman had a lot more deeper emotion and gravitas than I think Gunn is capable of addressing. This is probably the only time I'll watch this movie. Superman the Movie, Returns and Man of Steel were world's away better! In my opinion.
  6. Alright, just got back from seeing it, and I am feeling really nostalgic for Superman Returns and Man of Steel... For me, this leaned too far into the comic and comedic arenas, starting with the scene with Krypto jumping all over a wounded Supes. That set the tone for the rest and, IMO, just missed everything important about the mythos of the character and the world he lives in. That's not to say that there were not some nice moments, but they were swamped by too many gags that took precedent over drama. And... For the first movie in Gunn's rebooted DCEU this was not a good start, IMO. So far, the lackluster MCU is still beating the DCEU over the head. My score - 3.5/10.
  7. @nightmareB4macrossThat is a drink bell deserved!
  8. i.e. I love the games, but... I'm pretty sure he could make a good, compelling story even when sticking to the plot of the games.
  9. Dang, I thought they would be playing it in theaters again!
  10. The angle showing the light right between the firing arms is a great shot. Looks like it's about to blast Dolza!
  11. That is a great looking line-up @pengbuzz! Glad you were able to get those finished up.
  12. Co-author with David Webber on the Starfire series and numerous other works all his own, he has passed away from cancer. Baen Books posted on Facebook about, though I have yet to see any others. Truly sad. I really enjoyed the Starfire books.
  13. @joscasle What a hunk of... lovely plastic! A classic ship done right. @pengbuzz You have a real nice kitty right there! @Papa Rat That's just after the chrome stripping? Dang, I like that color combo just as is!
