CHAN Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 I don't understand, it is only the 26th of August. How the heck did this guy get the Valks?? did they fall off the truck?? I don't think even Japan has them yet!! <_< http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=16467
Commander McBride Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 This seems a little wierd. But I suppose they could have "found their way out of the warehouse".
Gyges Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Notice that the vendor has tellingly not posted any pictures of the actual box. It's odd that he would instead post a picture from (I believe) Dengenki Hobby. I suspect that they are most certainly not "in hand."

Kaolian Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 It would be strange if someone with that high of a feedback rateing is trying to pull a scam though. I dunno. The lack of real pics is suspicious though. Maybe he got himself hacked?
JsARCLIGHT Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 My guess is that this guy is telling a small fib so he can sort of get a jump on his eBay compeditors and get some sales in. He may or may not actually have the toys "in his hands", my guess is they are scheduled for a shipment to him or "on order" and he's doing what a lot of eBayer's do: selling things he doesn't have yet under the guise of having them. The truth of it is that the buyer may never know if the guy had the item right when he said he did as any delays in shipping the item out can be blamed on the postal system... unless the actual toys are delayed in distribution from Yamato and then the seller will be called on the carpet. I've seen people do this several times.
CHAN Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 I guess whoever buys it from him can look at the postage date. He did say that he will send it out immediately. Still whoever has this in their hands better post some pics!!!!
GobotFool Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 I say its a rip off taking advantage of us poor people with mecha/valk adictions.
JsARCLIGHT Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 In an effort to put this to rest I emailed the seller and asked if he had any pics of the box and the actual toy for sale. If he responds to me I'll post the pics here, if he ignores me then we can specualte all we want as to how legit this cat might be but with a 2K+ feedback he's either learned to walk a delicate tightrope or he's telling the truth...

CHAN Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 Maybe Black Aces can verify for us if it is out in Singapore and Graham can verify for us if it is out in HK
LePoseur Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 While this is slightly questionable as far as truthfulness goes, I seriously doubt it's a scam. Those valks are set to hit stores this week and the auction doesn't end until four days from now... leaving the seller plenty of time to recieve his shipment and get them mailed out on time. The only problem I have is with the "in hand" comment, which is, as of this moment, most likely false reguardless of it's inability to affect the shipping time of the completed auction. Labeled pre-order would be more in line.

Labeled pre-order would be more in line. What you say would be true except this guy has a buy it now option! He also states in his auction that he will send it out immediately. So either somebody somewhere has already got the grimy hands on the valks. or like everybody else in this post is saying he is just BSing.
Diverdown Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Looking at this seller's very high feedback.... I'd have no problem buying from the person. All the rest is speculation.
madmacks Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 its arriving this week for someone i know in asia, so maybe this guy indeed already has it.
1 VF-1 2NV Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 I speculate the seller has some connections. He or she has someone working at the warehouse that stores them. Regardless, it's still cheaper to get it here in the states if you live here.
recon Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 (edited) Hiya guys, Im from singapore, can testify for sure the 1/60 VE-1T and VT-1 Super Ostrich isnt out in the local market here as of yet. If they were out, most of the local shops here would have stocks of them not to mentioned especially the toy retailers in HK who directly gets their stocks from the factories. Labeled pre-order would be more in line. As what you said, it maybe true in a sense, that the local retailers have received news that the shipment would be arriving end of this week to early of next. This gives plenty of time for the seller to process orders and shipped them out. Whats saddens me is that such local people resort to such methods to win sales before the market is saturated with the release of these valks. <_< Sorry to say i do not support nor encourage such acts to promote sales even if it was for a valid reason. Sorry guys if this created any unpleasantness or displeasure in anticipation of this release. Cheers Edited August 26, 2003 by recon
twinmoons Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 (edited) I have just confirmed with our supplier that the VT-1 and the VE-1 have been released overseas. He has received his shipment and we should be receiving ours by next week. So yes, these have been released!! BTW, our supplier picks them up directly from the Yamato factory, so it makes sense that many others might have not received them yet. Edited August 26, 2003 by twinmoons
1 VF-1 2NV Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Alright Tam ! I'll be placing an order soon.
Toonz Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 a little update from singapore. vt1 & ve1 will arrive on thursday(28/8) and saturday(30/8).
Graham Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Haven't checked the toy stores here in HK yet, but will do so during my lunch break in a little over an hour and report back after lunch. As far as I know, the toys aren't supposed to be released until Aug 29th or 30th. Graham
Graham Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 OK, I just checked the Kanto Hobby and Animate stores in Mong Kok during my lunch break and as of today Wednesday August 27th at 1.30pm (HK time) they still DO NOT have the VT-1 and VE-1. Graham

Diverdown Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 (edited) Pics of the actual products!! VE-1 Link VT-1 Link Sweet!!!!! Edited August 27, 2003 by Diverdown
Sebastian Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 They look sweet indeed! And this confirms they are aout in Japan at least! Wooooo Hooooo! I see the Yamato guys did not made same mistake they did with the VT 102 (VF 1D), now the paint job is right on the toy... I cant wait!!
Rune Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Doubles at least. Graham was right the boxes seem pretty big.
recon Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 (edited) Hi, Lovely and beautiful, seems that the boxes are close to that of a 1/48 boxes. Cheak out the little minmei in the backseat of the 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich, wonder how she looks. Might have to pop by the local stores to check them out before consider buying them as most of funds aside from savings are allocated to the 2 sets of 1/48 Fps and 2 sets of 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru (October) Cheers Edited August 27, 2003 by recon
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Looking really good, can´t wait to receive mine fom Kevin!
Sebastian Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 (edited) I love to see the final product does not have the VF 1D problem. It have an accurate paint job! Since the chest is painted and not molded in color they paint the pieces... not like the color molded 1D. Edited August 27, 2003 by Sebastian
recon Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Looking better by the minute, boy it would be hard to resist those babies. Arrgghh!! Must focussed on what i have saved up for. Cheers
VF-19 Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 Now those are two beauties! Now which one to get...
