IXTL Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) On display at Tamashii Nations 2012. I spy the wing tips of a renewal RVF-25 to the left. Renewal version? Edited October 25, 2012 by IXTL
Kelsain Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Any idea of the scale? Or are these figures usually non-scale?
NightCastle Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Any idea of the scale? Or are these figures usually non-scale? You mean you don't see all the people milling about the feet of the 1-1 scale Vajra with its building-sized identifier?
3D-Brainx Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 If that on the left is actually the RVF-25 wing, then it should be something close to a 1/60
ff95gj Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 SH Monster series! A toy. How many should I buy?
Kelsain Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) OK, looking at the RVF-25 thread, its position & where the wingtip is here, this Vajra looks about 1/2 to 2/3 as tall as a 1/60 VF-25. So 1/100-ish? Hope the price is good, b/c I really want this and that CF-171! Edited October 25, 2012 by Kelsain
UN Spacy Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 SOLD! This is a miracle we're getting enemy mecha.
xTIMMYxCOREx Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I will be getting at least 2 of these. So happy!!
grapetang Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Nice!!! HLJ lists the other S.H.MonsterArts around 15.5cm and 6500Y. It would be fun if they made hammerheads in-scale and sold them in 2-packs. How tall are the various VF-25's & VF-171's?
MacrossJunkie Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Even though it's not 1/60 scale, I may still get one as I think it's unlikely they will make a 1/60 scale version of the red vajra.
Astralith Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 A Vajra is about the size of a Gundam, no? 1:60 isn't impossible I think... Just expensive. Regardless, I think this will be 1:72 to go with the Messiah kits.
aceoftherebellion Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 And then I was really excited and really disappointed subsequently. If this thing was about twice the quoted size, my life would be made. Welp, it'll still go with the VF100s! Everyone loves those, right?
EXO Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Any idea of the scale? Or are these figures usually non-scale? hope this is at least 1/72-ish The 2008 prototype said 1/72. But they could have easily shrunk it from the CAD files. I'm hoping it's still 1/72 not 1/100.
locidm Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I don't know my Vajra, but is that the one in the episode where Micheal almost sniper shot Alto? It better come with a slot for the knife in the head.
aceoftherebellion Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 All we have to go on right now is the size of the other figures in the line they're releasing this in, which is about 15-16 cm, or about 6 inches. That doesn't guarantee this figure will be that small, but until we know more it's a pretty good baseline, and that gives us an approximate 1/100 scale, give or take. Which would scale perfectly with the Bandai's Robot Damashii line, and I suspect that's their intention. I would love a larger figure but my hopes aren't too high at the moment. From context it LOOKS fairly small, if we can judge by the DX chogokin figures just out of frame.
ff95gj Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I believe it is non-scale. Expect it to be same size with the SH Monster Gozilla.
aceoftherebellion Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Does anybody here have any of the other SH-Monster toys so we can see a side by side of just how this is expected to scale with the other macross stuff we've had?
miriya Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I hope it is not too expensive! I really want a vajra!
aceoftherebellion Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 The other S.H.Monsterarts figures that have been released all seem to hover around the 6000-8000 yen mark. Honestly, I'd be happy to see it cost more than that if it means there's a chance it'd scale better with the larger Frontier stuff we've got... But I suspect that to be a pipedream.
ff95gj Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I plan to pit it against my Robot Spirit VF-25F/G. One more reason for the RS Armored VF-25S. Yikes!
MichaelS Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Nice detail would make a wonderful diorama couple those and a VF maybe a city scene hmm.!!
