JEXPRIME Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 [attachmentid=38760]I got an extra set of GBP armor so I decided to desk it out on my AB. Problem was it took away the cool color scheme so i tried a custom. Just alittle Krylon Fusion flat white,Safety red, and Patriot blue and there you have it. I hop yall like it. One question: Since the Ab is a show Valk, I thought I should leave all the heavy missles off...good or bad idea?[attachmentid=38756][attachmentid=38758][attachmentid=38759]
BoBe-Patt Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 take pictures with the shoulder missles on, then we can decide. Did you paint the should missles too? Anyway, good job on it. I like it, it matches very well.
Mechamaniac Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Nice work! Looks a little shiny, I think I'd hit it with a little dullcoat to tone down the gloss, but other than that, it looks really nice. Either the gloss paint is throwing off the image, or the red doesn't look like it covered completely in some spots. Leave the missiles in. It would be cool to get some decals that say FIREWORKS or something for each missile. The GBP would make one hell of a fireworks display launcher.
JEXPRIME Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 Thanks for your imput. Its kinda glassy because of the flash I think. I havent painted the shoulder mounts yet ... ran out of paint!!! great ireworks idea!! Ill try that!!!
do not disturb Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 an AB-GBP who would've thunk it! looks cool other than you forgot the missiles. i'm sure you'll post some more pics when you get some more paint.
aaajin Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 try some matt coating. it'll do good on your GBP
Kicker773 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 quick question for everyone i'm plannin on paiting a gbp armor to match the miria 1/48, just thought i'd ask what kind of paint(s) to use and what steps. input would be appreciated... now back to the topic.. awesome job
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Cool custom!!! As others said, a dullcoat will improve it. Very good paintjob
JEXPRIME Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 I see it now!! I DOES look like a GUNDAM!!! Must put missles on!!
bigkid24 Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Oh crap don't give Yamato anymore ideas for the GBP. It looks pretty cool though.
drifand Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 My first thought was: Joons Clown Custom! But seriously, good job :-)
jenius Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) I think you should fill back in the black on the circles (I have no idea what they're called but they're on the thigh pieces and the side of the chest). I also think the shoulder missiles are very necessary. This thing screams out for custom decals too! PS - I think they're also might be a little too much white going on. The Valk actually has a fair amount of color as far as valk paint jobs go. I like the idea of it though and you get major props for modifying such an expensive product! nightmareB4macross Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I agree with Jenius, it has a little too much white. The side profile makes the chest appear larger than the regular blue GBP-1S.
Excillon Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I actually like it the way it is. Not real flashy...simple, yet sharp.
JEXPRIME Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Thanks everyone for their input!!! I will finish it up over X-mas!! Thanks again!!!! JEX
