Lonely Soldier Boy
There is only ONE THING that I cannot stand. He doesn't hold his weapon worth sh**. Is there any suggestions from anyone? THANKS. Wow! Thanks for the pics. First time I see pics of the box. Mine's on the way (finally! I was waiting for Tam to get the YF-19 FB to ship them altogether). Poor Shogo was feeling really lonely without his sweethart. Edit: As for the griping of the gun, maybe you should try a bit if nail poloish or superglue to tighten the fingers a bit. I know I should try it. Fly4victory
Pictures of the Proto-Garland are up on Yamato.jp http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1105
wolfx
Is it just me or does this look like a prototype for a Garland in reality? (sorry if its old news)
Dante74
Cool! Some details really do look like they were inspired by the Garland, but they're not getting my money untill they make a transforming version.
Ivan
Has anyone bought the factory color garland yet? Some pics would be nice.
Lonely Soldier Boy
I bough it. Sorry, no camera in hand right now. I plan on using some Option Stickers to dress her up. I'll post some pics of it when I'm done Edited November 14, 2007 by Lonely Soldier Boy
Vermillion21
that DOES look awesome Wow, I agree ... may have to somehow shoehorn this figure (the military Garland) into the already tight budget .... eriku
Any reviews/pics of the Factory Garland yet? I just bought my first Garland yesterday. I debated for a long time over which one to get since I like all of them. I was going to wait for the proto-Garland, but then I remembered how many toys I have on preorder for January/February already. Long story short, I came across an original Garland on Ebay for $79.99 and couldn't pass it up. Right after buying it I shot YamatoUSA and email asking if they were still offering replacement shoulders. They replied a few hours later and said to just give them an address and they'll send the parts. Now we'll see which gets here first, the Garland or the shoulders! LOL Edited December 4, 2007 by eriku
Scream Man
i love my Garland, I really do. But I just CAN'T Fit another one into the budget at the moment. Between Macross, Saint Seiya, Marvel legends, legendary comic Book Heroes and Transformers, I just havint go the money! MAYBE in 6 months. Fort Max
Well the new TF line (which I really like now I've gotten over the shock) has supposedly been delayed untill June so that will free up some money plus I've cancelled my order for Konami's Great Impact Gurren Lagann so hopefully I will be able to get a Proto Garland. eriku
LOL, my replacement parts came from Yamato but my Garland isn't scheduled to arrive until tomorrow. I am very impressed at how helpful and FAST YamatoUSA is with this issue. Too bad they don't offer the same service for bad Valk parts. promethuem5
Slightly OT, but I actually needed a replacement part for a VOTOMS fig, and Yamato USA was super fast and helpful even though I sent out my email to them the day before Thanksgiving! Lonely Soldier Boy
That's a good tip. So far the only parts that we have asked from them were the Garland shoulders. I may as well try my luck and ask them for a couple of ratcheted feet for my 1st edition Scopedog Edited December 11, 2007 by Lonely Soldier Boy

That's great! I'm glad to hear they can send out other parts besides Garland shoulders. I wonder if they'd send me a set of articulated Scopedog hands since the first-edition hands I have keep falling apart.
promethuem5
The Yamatos don't come with articulated hands... you're thinking Takara, which probably won't help you...
eriku
The Yamatos don't come with articulated hands... you're thinking Takara, which probably won't help you... D'oh, you're right. And no, I wouldn't waste my time asking Takara. I like their stuff but I view them more as a faceless corporation that would send an automated response email. promethuem5
Yeah, I don't think there's any way you could get replacement parts out of Takara... shame...
eriku
Actually I don't think there are many toy companies at all that would send out replacement parts. Yamato is the only one I can recall doing such a thing. I think Hasbro used to several years ago, unless that was Kenner.
promethuem5
I actually got a replacement Grey Armor Iron Man Marvel Legends figure when mine was defective in the box a few months ago...
eriku
I actually got a replacement Grey Armor Iron Man Marvel Legends figure when mine was defective in the box a few months ago... Same figure broke for me, too. Arm came right off when I tried to move it. Luckily Target had a few of that figure and I was able to exchange it. Toy Biz was still making these at that time, correct? promethuem5
Ha, same break on mine... for some reason the figure has a quasi-ratchet in the shoulders that doesn't really work right... I think TB was still making the figure at that point.

eriku
Hasbro and Kenner are the same company, and I've had several defective Transformers over the years and they were always good about sending me replacements. I was referring to back before Kenner was absorbed by Hasbro. I never knew Hasbro sent replacement TFs, that's good to know. Would they just send a whole new toy? eriku
I got my Garland today and BOTH shoulders are broken. The right arm was broken so bad right out of the box that it just fell off, and the other one isn't broken in the typical area but has a piece broken off and missing from the side. It's a good thing Yamato sent me replacement parts for both shoulders!
Fort Max
What they should be doing is sending e-tailers boxes of replacement parts so they can inculde with new buyers Garlands, oh and a big "We're Sowwee" card from Yamato wouldn't go amiss! eriku
That's a shame mate. Glad you got the extra parts to fix the issue. Wasn't it the actual metal bar that was breaking for most people? The part that was broken on the left arm of mine (the one that fell right off), was the plastic area on the shoulder, the 'female' part that holds 'male' arm peg. The plastic around the hole that would normally hold the peg in place was completely crumbled. At first I thought, "NOOO, that's not even the part that I got a replacement for!" but then I realized it's part of the whole shoulder assembly. My only problem now is finding the time to perform surgery on this guy so i can actually play with him. He looks very sad the way I have him posed right now, staring down at his detached arm. Ignacio Ocamica
thank you sir! the brown one was the one i was looking buy. I transformed the brownie countless times and so far so good! Like eriku said, the military Garland has the new shoulders. (I have no problem with the red Garland either, but that's just me)
