  1. I've spoken to the HG higher ups, and yes it's pushed back. They say June, but we'll see. Even I'm not surprised of the push back. We'll see how long it takes.
  2. That method works, but it does take some time. If you want an easy method, try using a .5mm mechanical pencil and do the panels like that. You have control of the darkness you want, and you can clean it up if you don't want them. It sounds "mickey mouse", but it can actually produce some great results if you take your time. You can even do some slight weathering with it, but that's another subject.
  3. Ghadrack, that idea is pretty out there, but I like it. Perhaps they should just solve that mistery anyways.
  4. I think anything during the Protoculture era would be fantastic. Their usage of music, mecha, and it would be/could be so deep, it would almost rival Star Wars in size and plot. Just so long as there's no stupid aliens running around yelling, "Miza sooo hungry", or stupid lines like that. That whole story could answer just about every single question and tie up every Macross series out.

    Kids and your toys

Geez, I have to worry about friends more than kids. All the kids that have come over I've never had problems with. It's my buddies. Unfortunately, I can't just smack them and tell them no! I have to go into this long talk about how hard the toy was to get and how much it's worth. Then they start handling it with their eyes two inches from the thing and pretend like they're 8 or 9 again. I think they need a leash and need it tied to a tree out back.
  6. I'm trying to go this year, but no one I know has extra tickets. If anyone has some, and is willing to go with a long time MWer, let me know.
  7. Geez, that was f*ing funny. She ate some grass!!! The reason I can laugh is cause I've tried some stupid stuff and fell off a roof one time. Now, that hurt, but still, gotta laugh.
  8. It's a monster of a car. Especially once I get the EVO VII chip in there. I love the fact that it already has the Brembos, the inverted shocks, and the more sophisticated all wheel drive set-up than the WRX. That's why I decided to go with it. Honestly, I'm going with the blue color and may debate having some Max Sterling graphics done on it. It all depends on money and if I really want the hassle.
  9. Nick, like the car man... Anyways, I had a 93 Honda Accord Ex the had the cold air, headers, exhaust, and Brembo brakes. Even with just those few mods, that car kicked major A$$, especially on the freeway. A race where speed isn't everything. Well, what ended up happening is I ended up smacking the rear end of a 59 Rolls, and I had to lose my car because the insurance wouldn't cover all the damage for such an expensive and rare car. To make maters worse, the car's driver was a personal injury attorney who had his own practice. Last year I bought a Matrix Xrs, and will trade it in for an 04 Evo when they are out in July. I'm not in need to mod this much, but I will probably chip this since I have the EVO VII chip in my possession. Then I think I'll go with the intercooler and Cold Air again. I don't care much for the muffler upgrade, but we'll see. I like to keep the mods under the hood, where you can't really see them. Just the chip will change that car from the 271 HP to a whopping 317. I'm looking to make mince meat out of some guy who thinks he's mario andretti in his Nissan 350Z. I think I'll have fun though with the STi's though.
  10. Beam sabres just kind of dumb down the reality of what Macross was/is. A modern day world gets a blessing/curse of an alien space ship, and they implement new technological ideas with contemporary weaponry. That's what made it so intriguing is the "realness" of the show. The bayonet on the VF-11 is a melee weapon, but still has a realness to it. And like someone said, this is Macross, not Gundam. If I really was into the fantasy sci-fi, Gundam does a little more in that realm. Me, I like it close to reality.
  11. Regular Pinesol. I tried using the lemon stuff and it's composition didn't work for sh*t!! There have been times I forgot to take the parts out of Pinesol, and even after a day or so of sitting, they were fine. Just use whatever you feel safe with.
  12. One chemical is needed.... PineSol. That works great for taking off any paint. Just soak for about 2-5 hours, then take a toothbrush and the paint comes right off. I use this method in everything and I've never had problems with brittle plastic, warped plastic, rust, or any other problems. Just make sure you do a thorough wash of the parts afterward, as Pinesol does leave a light film on top. Non moisturized soap and warm water will do just fine for that.
  13. You can get the tattoo without the red. You can always get it in prison green, or in black. If I do get one, I'm not getting it in red. That's just wrong. But my first tat will be of Minmei. Now, before you say anything, if I get it, it's gonna remind me of the kind of girl I want. An older, more mature Minmei, one that you can bring home to the folks, but crazy at night. As Ludacris says, "a lady in the street, but a freak in the bed." Yeah, Yeah.....Yeah!!!
  14. RT Shark, that proves nothing. There are very few SC fans even on rt.com. I know from my experiences that many people who remember RT, remember the 3rd series, and a singing girl in the first, or as I'm told. In essence, each retail manufacturer has to go with what the demand is for. Perhaps there is a large enough demand for these???
  15. I'm trying to understand how they wouldn't, or couldn't bring Zero into the US without any hitch??? The valks aren't the same, the characters looks and features are very different, and overall, there should be no reason why whe can't or shouldn't be able to get it over here. Dubbed and Subbed the right way. As far as ep. 4 is concerned, I'm excited to see it all start winding up and everything begin to be revealed. I just don't want to wait till late this year for the final ep. 5.
  16. Not that many MOSPEADA fans??? I know there are many, many here, and on rt.com as well. Then to take into account that there are many who aren't saavy computer users and don't visit either site. I think the number of fans is either highly overestimated, or severly underestimated. It's gonna do well. It's not like we have 5 different styles from 4 different manufacturers to pick from. There's one. So I hope all that really want one get one. And if there's some left over, I hope those that want it for less get it.
  17. This has been up on that site for awhile. I remember in the old forums a thread of custom paint designs, and some were very nice. They had a McDonalds sponsored Valk, a Dell, and a few others like the James Bond version. I'm working on my own as well that I can use as customs for the next MWcon in 04, God willing.
  18. This is probably the one area other than scratch building that I know next to nothing about. What products are best and some methods would be great. Thanks in advance to those that can help.
  19. I'm not waiting. And since I've seen and handled it already, I'm gonna pay the $80 for the item in question. Of course, if I could find it cheaper off the get go, I'd be there. But this item will do well.
  20. Maybe with the intro of the YF-1R, they'll make something new, like a heavy armored alpha or shadow Beta later on. In anycase, I'm not surprised they pushed the release back. It's almost common now to see that from all our favorite companies. But where did someone get the idea of last summer? I haven't heard that one yet.
  21. Well, I started watching anime with Macross in 84. It's Robotech that kinda anchored it in (if it wasn't already). If you read the whole history of how Robotech came to be, you'd know that it really wasn't done intentionally. But they wanted to air it on t.v. and couldn't do so without a certain number of episodes. That's why the other two series were moved into the original Macross series and done (IMHO) in a very interesting and groundbreaking way. If they had their say so, HG would've put the original Macross on way back in the day. My advice, get acquainted with what you know. Then once you feel you've revisited your past and want to know more, check out everything Macross has done over the past 20 years. You don't have to hate one and love the other. I'm one of the biggest fans of both, just like many, if not, all here. Edit: Wow, this is funny that 20 years later, my last paragraph here would not age that well. I now wish Robotech would disappear. LOL. Hindsight is always 20/20, and learning how people act and how HG works didn't help keep that same interest for both.
  22. By all means, post!!! The customs gallery is cool and all, but here we can just put up all sorts of Macross variants, without so many pics. Anyways, if you've got customs that you bought, or ones you made, post them here. Inspire the customizers here to pound more new looks out.
  23. Macross + and M7 may have had tones of the same type (magic in a way), but nevertheless, they are very different. In Macross +, the events could be explained a lot simpler. The hypnotic music of Sharon Apple could be that as an AI form, she may know exactly what sounds or combination of them have the hypnotic effect you see in the end and thus, uses it for her benefit. the wires, strangely enough could be the electricity or even the EM waves (who knows with the technology of 2045. M0 has the "magic" aspect to it, but I think it is done very tastefully. I believe many here were expecting another SDF Macross series in 5 eps. and many expected the nostalgia of the old series. It's also hard not to referrence the times of now when all these issues are coming around that weren't so evident back in 1982. If you take the series at face value and try not to look too far into every nook and cranny of the series, you may actually enjoy it. I find it pretty interesting when I watch it like that and have too many questions when I try to analyze it.
  24. Honestly, the sculpt is good except for what everyone is complaining about; the hips. I could also careless about diecast or none. So long as there is decent plastic on it. I love the VF-0, especially as a toy, but I will not be getting this one based on the fact that Yamato made a bad decision in producing such a small toy. I don't care if it's close to the YF series 1/72s. It's not a 1/72. I'd go with a 1/72, even moreso, a 1/60. And I'm not one to complain about price. If I like something, I buy it. If not I don't. This one, unfortunately, I won't.
  25. Lately, there have been some awesome work on customs with hand made parts, and the sort. For those you who don't know what I mean, look at Myersjesse's VF-11B custom. That thing looks sweet!!! My question to those of you who do this stuff, is, how is it done. I've been customizing for awhile, but I've only done some shape altering, and painting. What product do you use, what tools, and what process do you use to create such nice parts? Thanks for your help.
