  1. Fantastic pic! Makes me want to dig out my destroids.
  2. Be nice if Arcadia reissued their stand. It's probably my favorite stand next to Yeti.
  3. Another line ended by Bandai before completion. That's standard Bandai MO.
  4. I'm with you on that. Freaking idiotic on Bandai's part to not give us that and a second Hikaru pilot figure. My 1D cockpit is empty because Hikaru is in the fan racer and of course no sitting Minmay.
  5. I'm with the OP. Don't care for the original version. The only versions I like are the solo performance by Nakajima Megumi, and the collaborative version featuring May'n, Megumi, and all the Walkure.
  6. Side by side, the SMS armor pack looks better.
  7. Bandai vs Yamato. Which do you prefer?
  8. Seeing as Japan has been on COVID sakoku since early 2020, no, I have not been able to see the latest Delta movie.
  9. Picked up the most recent Frontier x Delta collaboration. May'n & Megumi completely elevate the Delta songs they perform. Walkure versions of Frontier songs aren't bad, but aren't as good as the originals.
  10. That earlier phone pic was most unsatisfactory to me, so I dug out my real camera.
  11. Most of mine are displayed in-flight on Yeti stands. I don't know what I'm going to do with all the new valks post-Yeti closure. Looks like the others have answered your question. I'd like to add that you can also use a paint retarder when hand brushing. It slows down the curing process and makes the paint a bit more watery so that it evens out more and eliminates brush strokes. I use it all the time when I have to use brush paints. https://www.mr-hobby.com/en/product1/category_7/160.html
  12. Thanks! Nah, no disassembly other than pulling the legs and forward fuselage apart from the main body (makes it easier to work with). I just mask and paint. Bandai makes it pretty much impossible to open up their valks without damaging anything. The legs can be popped off after loosening the screws behind the intakes. The forward fuselage can be removed after unscrewing the two screws on the underside near the battroid head. In the case of the 1D the rear seat is actually glued to the main body, so you need to pop that out of the cockpit first before you can remove the fuselage. All the landing gear doors can be completely removed, which makes it much easier to mask off the bay. I apply a coat of of white primer then white lacquer paint. Then I panel line/wash the gears before applying a topcoat. After that I use a liquid chrome marker to paint the hydraulic struts silver. Then after all that I can finally put the tires back on. It's a lot of work for a few small parts, but it makes a world of difference to me. All this because Bandai won't do something simple that Yamato/Arcadia has been doing for 20+ years.
  13. I wish I had purchased a second PF 0D back then.
  14. The yen will continue to weaken as long as Japan keeps its borders closed while the rest of the world moves on from the pandemic. There's a lot of speculation that Japan may reopen by the summer, but that's a discussion for another thread. If you want to take advantage of the favorable exchange rate right now, you could always purchase from a place that requires upfront payment, like AE. https://www.anime-export.com/index.php?product=57208
  15. This one's for @505thAirborne! Unfortunately you'll have to settle for phone pics on my spare table, as my DSLR and setup are still boxed up.
  16. Ordered off HLJ for the PW and slow boat options. No need to splurge for DHL for this thing.
  17. That was actually pretty funny.
  18. Hmmm well I don't really love any of them, but I don't dislike any of them either. They're just varying levels of "decent but not amazing." Except the 30th anniversary livery. That thing is hideous. They have just enough wonky design choices to make drag them down, but not enough to make them bad. Like the tiger stripes or the angled spine stripe that kinda just tapers off. None of them really stand out to me like Focker's VF-0/VF-1 or Isamu's YF-19 or Alto/Ozma's VF-25s.
  19. My only regret with this purchase is that I paid for it last year. I'd rather pay for it now with today's exchange rates.
  20. Mirage is an embarrassment to the Jenius name. There I said it.
  21. Yeah I'm actually looking forward to this one. I like the 29 well enough but the livery is something that I'm not entirely thrilled with.
  22. As expected it looks like a straight reissue of the Yamato version.
  23. Free VF-19 with every happy meal purchase!
