  1. Merry Christmas everyone! Only a couple days away from the VF-1J release. Get your wallets ready!

    Macross figures

LOL well I'm sure you can find plenty of Japanese reviews long before my slow SAL pack arrives. Mine just arrived too but haven't had time to open it or the stack of Amazon boxes by the front door. Maybe I'll open that first when I get home so I can compare with past Sheryls...
  3. What?! You mean the Transformers TV show's real purpose was to sell toys?! NOOOOOOO! That statement covers a lot of what's out there, including Macross. Best sci-fi show I've seen in years is The Expanse. After watching all the TV episodes, I went and read all six books in short order. Book seven coming soon!
  4. Think he meant he only wanted Messer to survive, as he was the only semi-competent pilot in the show. The others in Delta squad are terrible. I can only imagine the kind of boobs they have in their Kairos squadrons if they couldn't make the cut for Delta squadron.

    Yeah I bought it.
  6. Oh man Project A-ko! That's pretty old school right there. Been to almost every Mandarake store in Japan during my travels. Wish we had something like it in the States.
  7. I'm not sure how you guys can tolerate anime in general if Nishida's mannerisms bother you guys so much. You guys must prefer the more uptight ladies, like a certain Japanese lady friend of mine who's so damn uptight I'm certain a singularity would form if she was clenched any harder. I bought 3 sets of missiles just in case. Yes I think the whole thing is stupid and I'm going to sell of the extras if I end up not needing them. At the least the missiles should have just been included in a super parts set. I think Bandai's endgame is to become the EA of toys. Everyone loves EA, right?
  8. Ordered 3x sets from AE. Kurama shop's price with shipping is tempting, but I'm not 100% convinced as to their reliability.
  9. 4980 yen at AE. http://www.anime-export.com/product/42530
  10. But he only had one beer. Shipping from Kurama shop is only $16.50 for three sets. Are they reliable?
  11. Isn't it like 7 PM in Australia as I type this?
  12. Will Bandai sell additional missile sets later on down the line, if they release additional VF-1 variants? It'd be pretty crappy if this is the only time you can get missiles and if you don't load up on sets now, then you're SOL. Bandai's track record with reissuing web exclusives is not great. In fact, I can't think of a single Macross TWE that's seen a reissue. Waiting for AE so I can just stick the missile set on my ever-growing pile of loot.
  13. It's the plastic toy equivalent of DLC.
  14. Nice score with the 0D! So they were able to calculate to the minute when they would return to Earth 12000 years later and plan a welcome light show, but couldn't get the kana lined up right?
  15. I love paying extra for accessories before receiving the valk they go with, but not actually receiving said accessories till long after.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

The old Yamato YF-19 and VF-0 had arms made of explodium and would eventually disintegrate on you, even if you handled it like a newborn or never transformed it. Arcadia wisely chose to use metal for those parts.
  17. If that's Bandai's game, then I demand a tubby Kakizaki pilot figure for his VF-1!
  18. That's Nishida Nozomi, aka Makina. She's the cutest member of Walkure IMO but also whose voice I like the least. Also, the valk looks amazing!
  19. I've ordered more stuff from Mandarake than any other shop in Japan. Love visiting their stores in person too. They're a toy-loving nerd's heaven.
  20. I hope 1/60 ejection seat markings are large enough to not look out of place on a 1/48 scale valk.

You can purchase decal paper for inkjet or laser printers, then just print them out like you would anything else. After you print them out, you spray a later of Krylon acrylic over the sheet to seal in the decal prints. Once it's cured, they're exactly like waterslide decals. You can manipulate the images in Photoshop to have as many or as few of any particular decal you want before printing and to clean up any imperfections on the scan. I prefer to fill up an entire sheet before printing so as not to waste decal paper. Sometimes I'll test print on plain paper to see how the decals look and how big they are before committing them to the more expensive decal paper. There are limits to printing your own decals though. You can't print in white, and decal paper is transparent so they only look good on light surfaces. There is white-backed decal paper but that's only good for certain types of images, and you have to trim the image out exactly. Example of decal paper for inkjet printers: https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Waterslide-Decal-Paper-Inkjet/dp/B07CBJLNCT/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1544924123&sr=8-6&keywords=decal+paper+inkjet
