  1. It's too bad Bandai ended their Star Trek line after Voyager. I'd have love to have gotten a pre-painted, illuminated Defiant from that line.
  2. I'm loathe to support Robotech and HG in anyway, no matter how small, but seeing Minmay Minmei, Hikaru Rick, and Misa Lisa is making me consider picking them up, since no Japanese maker wants to give us Macross figures. Thanks a lot, jerks!
  3. I'm only considering movies and TV shows. Lots of crazy stuff happens in the novels but they're not considered canon.
  4. As a person who spends a lot of free time detailing his valkyries, even I'm not that obsessed over the shade of blue used. I don't hear anyone bitching about the DX 1A having an oversaturated blue, which it does (but again doesn't bother me).
  5. It's a painted prototype, guys. The markings on it are decals and not indicative of the final product. When has Arcadia released a PF that didn't have a bunch of NO STEP and other requisite markings?
  6. The original Enterprise was set to be decommissioned when Kirk and crew stole it and then blew it up themselves. Enterprise-A was decommissioned after Star Trek 6. The final fate of the Enterprise-B was never established. Enterprise-C was lost defending Narendra III from the Romulans. Enterprise-D was lost in a really stupid techno babble fight with a Klingon Kia of prey. We left the E behind when the franchise was run into the ground by terrible writing and mismanagement.
  7. Yamato's success? They went out of business.
  8. TV vs movie and a hope that Bandai gives us a blue 1S.
  9. I'm sure the Miranda and Excelsior classes saw many modifications, upgrades, and refits over the decades, so I see no problem having full glow nacelles by the late 24th century, along with varying colors of impulse domes and what not. Retconning the original Excelsior during its role in Star Trek VI to look like a late 24th century ship is just a bizarre thing to do.
  10. Something about that first pic isn't right... The Yamato 1/48 may look a bit wonky in battroid, but that fighter is still stunning! And having a correctly sized pilot doesn't throw the entire scale off! Marvelous!
  11. It's Eaglemoss being cheap and/or poor research, which is not new for them. Funny since the magazine it comes with documents the original studio model's journey from Excelsior to Hood to Melbourne to Enterprise-B and finally to the Lakota. There are no glowy bits in the nacelles beyond the new bussard collectors at the front when it became the Enterprise-B. Full glow nacelles only became the norm for Excelsior-class ships when they went full CGI.
  12. Picked up the XLsior. Despite its imperfections, it's the best painted & completed Excelsior that I've seen.
  13. Having too many valkyries is a problem lots of us on here would love to have. #firstworldproblems
  14. Haha thanks. I think I'm going to get a nice sky blue background or something for flying shots. It's incredibly irresponsible to fly an aircraft inside an enclosed hangar. Thank you, sir!
  15. Yeti stands can easily hold multiple valkyries, so long as you keep the weight balanced so it doesn't tip over.
  16. Just the blue one as I finished the orange one awhile back. To the camera and beyond!
  17. DYRL two seaters done and back on the Yeti! Time to finish off the TV two seaters now...
  18. You're a crazy, crazy dude. I love it!
  19. Kawamori has given us so many beauties over the years, and I love them all. But it's Roy's (and later Hikaru's) yellow & black skull leader unit that started it all for me.
  20. It looks like the Bandai Enterprise-A but it's missing some details so that can't be it. Zooming in, there are noticeable seams on the ends of the nacelles, so I'm thinking it's a Diamond Select release.
  21. I prefer the DYRL mechanical hands myself, so I'm happy Bandai included plenty of those, including the articulated hands. But these are TV valkyries and there are peeps who prefer the TV accurate clown hands, and it's pretty crappy to make them pay extra for a few pieces of unpainted plastic. It's always going to cost way more to sell them separately than to just include them with the valkyrie. Even 2000 yen would be highway robbery, imo.
  22. Having to pay extra for TV hands for a TV valkyrie. Bandai, you really are the Comcast of toy makers.
